Even without kids I would prefer the Charger. It handles better, has better aero and top speed, and it's just exponentially more practical for everything you'd need it for.

@@leonardogallardo1122 not entirely true yes I agree the gt 500 is better around turns and handles better yes if I plan on racing around turns I would get a gt 500, but the hellcat just wasn't made for that but it does what it's supposed to do it goes fast in a straight line, it is what it is, it doesn't pretend to be a Porsche or a BMW just like they said in this video, it can only be what it's made to be a straight line track monster and it does it well

Love the Hellcat. Was actually about to buy one but the lack of AWD killed it for me. Ended up going with a BMW M550i. Just as fast, tons of tech and it can handle snow! although, I definitely wish I had the supercharger whine!
If you would of gotten one, think about the money you could of made selling it now, let alone selling it in a year when they are axed.
This deserves more views not just because of charger.. its the way they entertained us...

Love Dodge twins. Charger has such a great sound and exterior design. I'd probably get one if the interior were a bit prettier to look at. Since that's where ILL be most of the time, and just a regular V8 for me.
Totally agree!!! I mean im a guy who likes "drivers cars" normally, but these things are just BRILLIANT!!! Even if the chassis is from a 30 year old Eclass Benz. The interior though is just horrendous!!! None of the current "muscle/sports" cars have a very nice interior though. Well.... Excluding the C7/C8. So i would definitely end up with a 1LE manual. If i have to have a shit interior, i want the best handling and most fun car to drive!!! So in reality, i would end up with a slightly used Grand Sport C7 manual. Hahaha
@@raymondnewbill5294horrendous is a bit strong lol but i totally agree with your logic. The ss 1le and c7 grandsport are the two best current American cars imo. Unless you just want brute retro muscle, in which case id get a manual challenger, and lastly the charger of you need 4 doors and don't require a manual. If they made this in manual id put it pretty high on the list for it's combination of looks, performance, practicality and attitude, but I want a little more handling and would thus pick the camaro. I had a rental spec one recently and found the 17+ interior to be a huge improvement. The dash is scratchy plastic, but it's way better than the prior one.
The R/T is pretty underwhelming. Imo, the scat pack is really the sweet spot and i wouldn't want a challenger/charger that was any slower than that. Is a dodge that doesn't pin you to your seat even a dodge? 😂

In what universe? The Charger Hellcat Widebody is $71K, the M5 starts at $103K and the E63 starts at $107K.
As specced, the car in this video is 82K. That's not a different world and a lot of people would swing for the Germans for just that extra bump

Weasle however just look in the interior of the Germans and you’ll know why there’s a difference in price. Interior quality is miles better in German than american
@@alexzhou7 I don't think the interior is that significantly more expensive. The Charger (specifically the one spec'd in the video) has a very similar interior quality save for some areas that are plastics. A couple hundred dollars worth of interior material does not account for a $30,000 increase in price. Idk why people keep acting like the interior of those cars are so special, they really aren't.
Me - Bmw driver for 8 years, 3 series to m series, my personal opinion on the interiors are mehhh, I bought because it’s the ultimate driving machine. But I’d take 707 hp over my m3s. Cost the same. But they’re comparing to m5 which in my opinion 707hp is still better regardless of what the interior looks like.

they're styled as fender flares but the fact that the fenders are single solid panels means that they can call it widebody
You forgot about the very similarly priced M550i when talking about the German competitors...
That's because a M550i makes 456hp where as a Scat Pack or SRT8 will make 475hp without the supercharger. Yet you want to compare it to a Hellcat that makes 707hp? You Euro lovers are cute.
@@PyroBlonde7777 The 2020 M550i makes 523 hp and 553 lb/ft and is lighter than a widebody hellcat, has awd and does 0-60 in 3.6s or exactly the same as a hellcat widebody on a prepped surface. HP numbers are just a number that is largely irrelevant without considering other factors such as gear ratios, final drive, weight, drivetrain efficiency, wheel mass, brake mass, tire mass, etc... You 'Murican Muscle lovers are cute.

Four axels, 2 differentials, drive shaft, and the drag from all four tires. AWD is only good as a steet car platform. For example, people who buy Challengers or Chargers drag race. That means radials or dragslicks. With slicks people run 10s with a Hellcat. How fast does the BMW do the quarter mile? Stay in your lane Soy Boy.

1. I never said the M550i had lower parasitic losses, just that it is a factor other than HP that plays into acceleration.
2. The purpose of this video/review wasn't purely about drag racing and more about having a practical and really fast sedan. You can buy a cheap plasticy Dodge or a leather lined rocket ship BMW for about the same price.
3. If you're really into drag racing you're going to buy a Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody anyway so far there is no Redeye Charger. Also, no one who is into drag racing will be impressed that you bought a 10 second car - they only care if you built it.
4. My masculinity has nothing to do with the argument at hand, but thanks for the insult anyway troll.
A 2020 M550i will def stay with a hellcat off the line. But the charger will catch it in no time.
