People who didn't grow up during this era... Rap/Hip Hop/R&B was very much a bubble, and Rock was its own bubble. Never would the two meet and they almost felt like polar opposites to me at that time. Even as a kid, you listened to Rock in public and Hip Hip/R&B in private, and possibly the opposite was true. Rock in all its genres dominated the youth culture across America, where as today Rock feels way more underground and Hip Hop dominates. So seeing this at time was like watching two worlds that lived separate meet each other and it was crazy fun!
They are woke bootlicks to “global progressivism” rage on behalf of the machine. The center and right are the new counter culture. Not including the old neocons rinos who vote with the left now.
Lmao this is the greatest. I'm a progressive metalh fan, but this was the ballsiest thing I had ever seen as a kid. Listen to the lyrics, they're basically advertising a collaboration opportunity with their own song. They're even throwing compliments. I know what the lyrics really meant, but clearly the song takes a whole new meaning in this context.
The term “sell out” is used too often. These guys are very talented and their music is the shit. Who knows why they didn’t blow up as they should have. I live for old skill HipHop (Tribe, Gangstarr, DeLaSoul) and I love these guys. Goes to show good music crosses genres.

I like to think i get 'these days' sounds of songs. I heard a bloke voicing how we don't need stuff like this, it's depressing. I'm certified depressed sure but the ignorance i thought of this guy whom thinks 'moaning' music brings people down and we should be thankful we ain't homeless, starving, etc, oh and it will make you depressed listening to this stuff. Rant almost over, i think this guy comes across easily insensitive, probably dealing with some kind of denial and really should look at things relatively and don't think you can work everyone out as one solution fits all. Sorry, this probably should be on Facestuff or something and i wish you well.

There will not be another decade with GREAT music like The 2000s, there was no politics, no COVID-19, and no others crap; just GREAT artist making AWESOME videos and GREAT music!
There is always politics lol. Green day had political songs and i am sure other bands did too
The 2000s were 1000x more political...we just didn’t have the obsessive social media
ever hear of a band called RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE? they started literal riots in LA lol
@@bird2049 now they are called Rage WITH the machine
Lol I mean there was still politics of course but overall society was a lot more relaxed still. Everyone wasn’t offended by every little thing yet.
LEGENDARY 🔥
The most underrated live band. This song is one of my favorites. The video is so epic!
They've got a new album coming out in April!! I hope they start touring some smaller venues like the other alternative/rock bands I have been in love with for 20+ years because I would LOVE to see them again!!!
Man it feels like yesterday I was just playing Madden 04
Maaaaan...
Keithlon Sherman same man Vikings was my team on that game. randy moss, Culpepper and Bennet all day
Keithlon Sherman I knew I heard this somewhere before!
Keithlon Sherman for me it was really was yesterday
Nobody can catch Mike Vick
cept Moss..if he played defense lol
I can't believe I'm listening to this song for the first time. AAF were a sick band, man! Are these guys still around? Nevermind, I'll google it.
***** Thanks. Will do!
I know right. I just remembered their cover of Smooth Criminal and went to listen it a couple times then went to hear some of their other songs and was like "this is actually pretty fucking nice".
Are these guys for real???? Oh man, I've laughed so hard! Watching this as a black person in 2021 in this racially super charged atmosphere was such a breath of fresh air! Jeez, I'm still smiling, lol. This must've been hella fun to do.
It really hits home just how much things have changed. If this was attempted in this day and age, there would be triggering from all corners.
People never once thought about race when this went on. Nowadays that’s all we think about. It’s sad how divided we’ve become.
@@WeirdorNotPodcast there is racism but it is such a minor problem that it should not even matter. media blows it up to distract us from what is really happening and sadly people still fall for it
I think we lost something along the way. We need to find that unity again, but we have to find it with each other.
@@mokomothman5713 it's called get rid of liberals that's the only way
@@WeirdorNotPodcast you can thank Obama for that. He started the race storm with his racist rhetoric.
Man. Really sorry I couldn't be there tonight. You guys are my childhood skating soundtrack. Heartbreaks, solitude, and growth. Thanks guys.
Just seen them in concert last night....still kicking ass!!!!
About to go see them in Vegas
Underated band with strong lyrics that relate closely to the times were in. This is my favourite AAF track ^^
Alien Ant Farm has been and always will be a severely underrated band. Got me through a lot of shit.
this is the coolest thing still these days! imagine doing this nowadays you will be cut right off forever
I'm black I would've love to hear them perform at the BET AWARDS
Me too
People who didn't grow up during this era...
Sounds like you aren't aware of Bring The Noise or Walk This Way.
@@guitaristssuck8979 Yeah how many times were those songs played on BET?
I Don't really like this genre of music but I could listen to this band all day long... one of the best vocalist ever...
This is what Rock is about, where are our bands like this today?
They are woke bootlicks to “global progressivism” rage on behalf of the machine. The center and right are the new counter culture. Not including the old neocons rinos who vote with the left now.
Lmao this is the greatest. I'm a progressive metalh fan, but this was the ballsiest thing I had ever seen as a kid. Listen to the lyrics, they're basically advertising a collaboration opportunity with their own song. They're even throwing compliments. I know what the lyrics really meant, but clearly the song takes a whole new meaning in this context.
This is just an awesome tune 😎💪 with an epic performance.
The term “sell out” is used too often. These guys are very talented and their music is the shit. Who knows why they didn’t blow up as they should have. I live for old skill HipHop (Tribe, Gangstarr, DeLaSoul) and I love these guys. Goes to show good music crosses genres.
ONE OF THE GREATEST VIDEO EVER
I like this band a lot, not specially for their songs or talent(although I like the songs a little) but just for it's personality. I appreciate what it stands for.
can not wait to see these guys October 1st. rock in the early 2000's kicked ass. Make America Rock Again tour was a great idea.
Literally saw them last night here in Norfolk. AWESOME LIVE MUSIC! You're going to have a blast.
thanx man do you remember the order the bands played?
i used to live in Chesapeake saw alot of bands at the Norva.
I do remember. 12 Stones, Tantric, Crazy Town, Alien Ant Farm, Saving Abel, Saliva, and Trapt. Norva was a great venue.
Billy Bob same order in Columbus,Ga September 25
Man 2020 makes this video so much more rock and roll
Why haven't we got this sort of music now!! Bring it back!!
This song randomly popped into my head this afternoon (caught myself singing it thinking; what am I singing?!?!) so here I am now listening to it.
White metalhead here. 44 years old from Australia and I love you all. Peace \m/
1:57 That perfectly timed off-time fill 😍
true. very nice plays
Checking in during 2021...
This is still one of the best things on YT.
Can we just acknowledge for a second that these guys crashed the Black Entertainment awards
Yesss!
classic video
Fuck yes
yep and everyone loved it and laughed about it. what's your point?
LOl imagine if they had done that in 2016
as many times as i've seen this never noticed pharell at 1:20, the look of realization on his face is great. this isn't far off from a NERD song with some reworking
It takes balls to do what they did given this is real.
Holy shit it actually is!
This is legend
GetScaredGaming
Lol yeah man, a decade later it is still on my top ten list of favorite Music Videos because it WAS real, and it shows how music can bring together all kinds of people..........and how rules and cops can be buzz kills sometimes. sigh-
Hijackin the BET awards, these guys did it BIG.
Alex M
And talk about the free cameos! You couldn't ask for that kind of star power in a video!
Yep. 100% real. Not fake like most online videos these days. These guys are badasses. Loved this shit when I was growing up.
Dude they're awesome, I've always loved AAF since their song Movies.
When I had panic disorder this music was a point of my life. Those days were hard. This music is so great
I like to think i get 'these days' sounds of songs.
Thanks Mega 64! Cool video Rocco!
Love this track gives me chills. Never stopped playing it.
No band nowadays has the balls to pull something like this off anymore.
Well I mean can you blame anyone for that lol they would probably get canceled in todays pussified oversensitive society
@@blindsidexv6244 still doesn’t take away the fact that too many people are afraid to stand up to the system that is against them, and brings us back to the OG comment that men have no balls anymore and think exactly like you, living in fear.
@@GloryFit lol yeah ok tough guy.
I think the Foo Fighters have something to say....
U2 Did it. 17 years earlier. And BETTER.
12 years and still amazing. This song must be timeless.
They shocked Lil Kim, 50 cent aaaaannnddd Nelly. lol. That was dope.
*head bang* aaanndd _Nelly_
Eliezer Rolon and snoop dog
and killer Mike too
Most underrated band of all time... My guy is crushing the five string bass
Pharrell's reaction at 1:20
Lol he still looks the same today! And Nelly as well. Though he got rid of the plaster.
I know he look's like he realizes it's actually good haha
love his reaction, he know's its good music. he's awesome!
What year did he start NERD, I feel like he got part way inspired by this
Astro Blip The first album was released in 2001, so he already knew good music when this happened.
Was 7 years old when listen this masterpiece...
Now am 20
For those who dont know save your breathe. Nobody wanted to shut them down. However AAF sang the song over and over again so that they could get enough footage. The cops came in after the third time I believe.
The way this video was shot is the epitome of rock and roll!
i like how the ladies and gents danced//it made me say music does have power to unite people....
Good music is good music , this song had a message of unity ! People sometimes only see in color ! Wish that world was more unified ❤
Black folks appreciate EVERYTHING!!! This was an amazing reception.
The bass player is so zany. He looks like he’d be a fun guy to hang out with
My favourite song of theirs. The video is awesome. Love this. You won't see this happen again.
This is the track that used to put me in the mood I needed to kick ass on Madden. Reached #2 on online Madden
I finally found this song!!!!!! I remember this was on madden, either 03 or 04. Every now & then the chorus would pop in my head. I never forgot this song
Me too lol it was madden 04 with Vick on the cover
2023 y aun sigo pensando que esta es una de las mejores canciones de esa época, mi época.
After 11 years and now an 8month old child the relationship between me and my child mom disintegrated. This music is keeping me moving forward . Thank you aaf
this is one of the best songs on Madden NFL 2004
You guys ever wonder if Diddy Had a freak off after these awards???
Salute to the band.. it looks like everyone enjoyed it.. everyone pumping the fist, clapping nodding the head. Bone crusher taking off his shirt. This shit went hard
Such a fun song that every group can appreciate it.
This video is awesome because everyone is feeling it...there isn't a big divide between rap and rock like a lot of people like to think, and aaf isn't making fun of them I think there's a lot of hip hop influence in their music and they just wanted to do something cool and fun
This was some gangsta shit, Alien Ant Farm get mad respect
