Stretching techniques, routines, how often, etc... and tapering back into the bulking stage... coming off a show. That was hard for me, both years I competed.

we are SO fortunate these days, to have this media at our fingertips. 24/7. so much knowledge, so much experience to observe and gain from. THANK to Phil Heath and Mike O'Hearn for sharing and posting.
Did Mike ever get to train with Ronnie in his prime? 2000 lb leg press ronnie? The combo of strength and being cut. Phil, as he said, wants to look strong but not be strong. Ronnie, i think defied that trend by being strong and looking strong.
I’ve been a trainer at almost every corporate gym you can name, LA fitness, 24 hour fitness, Crunch, Equinox, New York sports club,, and I’m not saying that to show I have experience, I’m saying that because I’ve been able to watch the masses work out, wash the public work out, and what Phil is saying, is absolutely 100% true, most people are just going through the movements, they are not dedicating one hour of hard consistent training with the goal of perfecting each rep, most people just have a number in their head and they’re just trying to get to that number so they feel a feeling of completion when that’s not the goal the goal is to do every rep with maximum efficiency and effectiveness, why?, To get maximum results, that’s why the average person really only needs to go to the gym three times a week for an hour, instead people are in there five and six times a week, for two hours, because they are quite simply not being efficient with their workouts, because if you were there’s no way you could handle a 40 hour a week job +10 hours in the gym at 100%.
I'm 42.... Been working out off n on since a teen...I can literally say I JUST learned how to properly work out a few months ago... It's insane the difference when u maximize every movement/rep/set 🤯
I agree with this so much...I've been training for 30+ years and I'm now just learning how to workout properly. I still have those days where I just don't feel like being there and I just go through the motions. I've seen so many people in the gym for years grunting and yelling every rep...yet after 3 or 4 years are still the same size. I don't understand.
To Phil and Mike, mind muscle connection and control is something I also understand and I'm a big fan of what you guys are saying so thank you brothers, I'm learning alot from your videos, I'm 33 year old ARMY VETERAN and I'm staying with it trying to rehabilitate my body and I look up to you guys
Phil curling 35s n 40s massive 24in guns Mike O curling 45s n 50s 20in arms …just goes to show when building arms it’s not about how heavy you go it’s about form mind muscle all the way to failure!
Have to say I changed my training up recently and I can honestly say my sets and reps are in the 80 to 90% Phil was talking about and my workouts are half as long because you use the muscles so much more, so dropping the weight and feeling the contraction and doing everything properly and I've grown so much faster 👊🏻
@@lancer717 forgetting the heavy weight focusing on doing the movements as perfect as possible with good form and controlling the weight squeezing at the apex of the motion, you feel the fatigue and muscle tearing happening all faster and I find it more efficient training like this for an hour or so instead of my old 2 hour training sessions
@@woodhead0823 so you could say that you concetrate on the mind muscle connection, feeling the muscle vs moving the weight? Did you lose any strength in comparison with going heavy?
I want to see Heath go through any hall of fame and talk about their strengths and weaknesses. Trying to learn about bodybuilding in a comprehensive way and his knowledge is insane
Do you really think, he's natural? Sorry, but i don't think so. But it doesn't matter, 'cause all athlets have to train insane, with focus and to do all that stuff, to be as they are. So they have my respect, too.
Why? He’s a liar and selling snake oil. Misguiding people who look to you for direction is wrong. He’s impressive, and most people can’t do what he does or look like him but there’s no need to lie.

Mike O´Hearn and Phil Heath - 2 of the BEST (Phil 7x!) in this sport. Always great videos! I met Mike at the end of the `90 years at the fibo in Essen, Germany. A great athlet! Best wishes to Mike and Phil from the small town Hennef near by Cologne, Germany!
@Mike O’hearn- thanks for all you’re great content and being an displaying as well as promoting, doing things in a fashion which is meant for building a strong and resilient body. Appreciate all of your content and I try to emulate a similar training style/mindset. Thank you!
Phil gave some of the best advice and tips...I rather look like I can lift it than to actually lift it... not show off and arms smaller than the guy doing the lighter weight
Phil Heath is absolutely 💯 correct of what he said, it's the form that counts not the weight I see most people training their arms an doing shoulders, or they will do half raps on quads instead of going 90 degree angles to get the right pump. That's why Phil Heath is absolutely 💯 Mr Olympia 7 time's, there's a reason why he is, because he does it right 👍💯.
You can see a huge difference between muscle contraction between Phil and mike phill contracts better connection not because of his size just better connection to it
This is a great video. Look early on at Phil's arms. Just goes to show how much of the arm the tricep muscle makes up and how small in comparison the bicep is.
Try Arnold’s & Reeves style standing curls on the back of the incline bench, but use the 2” wide rubber band. If you’re using your right arm, then stand on the band with your left foot wrapping it around the backside into the right palm. Protects your bicep muscle & builds better with resistance. You might have to adjust the band placement until your familiar so doesn’t pull or twist distractingly. I enjoy it, especially with limited weight, affords consistent growth. Proprioception’s great 👍🏻 It’s good to share those life stories. Getting to know others is great bonding. Strength through adversity. Congratulations with your triumphs, it makes you you, & unique.
