Smash: Let’s get a different weapon for a Fire Emblem rep. Dev member: How about an axe? Smash: Sounds great! Dev member: Hector? Smash: Nah... Camilla without a wyvern.
Geo Estrella LOL! Hey that's an idea. There are already items that make you build or assemble with parts so gathering 5 orbs wouldn't be too different. Then you just have to worry about the 3% chance of summoning a good character.. 😆
Twilightzant 03 Dynasty Warriors (the game that Warriors is *heavily* based off of) is not a fighting game by any standard (except the fact that there's fighting in it, but then almost all games are fighting games). Now you could argue that you meant "Game with entirely FE characters in a different gameplay style", but even then it sorta failed with its modern favoritism.
Your idea for the Breidablik concept is really cool, and I'm fairly surprised I've never heard anyone else mention the idea. Like you said, it really is limitless, and gives us the opportunity to see some of our favorite characters across the series be seen in both 3D and HD graphics (like many of us expected from FE:W). Also, I guess this is where I freak out about appearing in this video? Nah, I'll just appreciate that my idea for Arvis managed to sneak it's way into the video.
ThePsyShyster I found the thread. It was pretty popular on r/FireEmblemHeroes. www.reddit.com/r/FireEmblemHeroes/comments/877euj/i_made_a_concept_for_a_breidablik_item_in_smash/?st=JGIGZRWA&sh=a6742036
Excellent video Max. Honestly I think the Breidablik idea you came up with is brilliant and would make for a lot of very chaotic and crazy matches. Anna sounds like a very fun choice (especially if her move-set is a wacky one) and Ephraim would naturally be cool too. For Lyn and Hector I'd be fine if either one or both get in, but in my ideal world I'd take inspiration from what they did with the pokemon trainer in brawl, and have Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector work as trio of character that you can switch between, which each one specializing in a certain field (Lyn focuses on speed and high combo's, Eliwood is more balance and has superior air game, and Hector is all about power and defense etc). Also personally I'd really like to Celica get in as an echoes rep, with her moveset being a mix of both sword play and magic much like robin, however instead of zoning opponents and fighting from a distance, she would be more of a close range, glass-cannon rush down character with high speed and attack, but poor defense and recovery.
BLAZINGKNIGHT Love the idea. It would really show of the diversity FE has to offer. And if you let Eliwood use a lance (maybe just for a side B), pop a Sol Katti on Lyn and of course give Hector his axe, it’s a great ode to the weapon triangle.
BLAZINGKNIGHT well I don't know how active you are on Google+, but I made a poll about putting her in Smash. In the comments section, there's a moveset I made. If you have some time, maybe you could check it out?
Star Falchion Nutting his pants, really? If Lyn really did get in Smash, Zerk would explode with that nut and said explosion would cause a magnitude 5 Earthquake in Canada. Xp
In some ways, yes it would be unfitting. I just think if people wanted her in the game at all it shouldn't be with her own slot as we already have so many reps. They don't have to add her in, yeah- but if they did it could be an option just because they are both sword/magic styled fighters. Otherwise the Breidablik doesn't sound like a bad idea.
Also consider that Awakening was the game to revitalize the series as a whole, so the fact that it has 2 reps makes some sense, especially considering just how popular Lucina is. Also, it's not like the smash bros games don't have a lot of clone characters already, so it's nothing new.....
I don’t think 2 characters is a large number of representatives for any game. I think Azura is important enough and well-known enough that adding her would make sense.
Although it's No. 5 on your list, I love that Breidablik idea (Also, *that's* how it's pronounced?! Huh..). It'd, no doubt, come with some dud summons though, like... Wrys healing 1%. Gotta represent the depression you can get from summoning somehow. Since she's already in Smash, I'd like if Lucina was reworked with a new Lance moveset alongside her Marth playstyle via a weapon-change gimmick. That way, players like me who enjoy playing tipper-less Marth can still play her in Smash 5 while others who wanted something new can play with Geirskogul.
+LuigiMan200 Considering her Attack-stat in Heroes, you'd be sent flying almost immediately after she attacks you. (The one I have in Heroes isn't even +ATK, and she still hits 50+ attack without buffs, which is absolutely ridiculous.)
Kendall Hirsch Well honestly 50+ attack is solid ,but not crazy powerful. Actually quite a lot of characters hit the 50 attack or even 55 attack mark. Take male Grima as an example. That boi has a crazy attack stat.
+Volzotan Smeik I hear he can hit 90+ attack, which is outrageous. (I don't have him, yet, but that's what I've seen from other players. Maybe that's why he wasn't included in Smash: He'd literally break the game with that attack stat.)
I don't know why smash feels the need to just through in clones. They could easily just add in another Lancina as an alt to her. Similiar to how you can choose between shiek and zelda in brawl or how characters in actual fighting games have "style" selection that completely changes the character. They've already stated they don't like form changes in game but I don't see why you can't have style changes as well as pallete swapsin the menus before the match...
LuigiMan200 something that annoys me about Smash Lucina that Warriors did good on is that they made Lucina a Marth clone, which she isn't, something Warriors changed, making her a Chrom clone, which made sense, but made her faster, which also made sense, didn't like how they made her weaker than Chrom considering in the cutscenes she held Chrom's entire momentum and the force from his slash like it was nothing, as well as when she saved Lissa from the risen, she didn't actually need Chrom to do anything but distract it for a second and she killed, then there's Chrom dodging Lucina in Regna Ferox rather than attempting to block. Says a lot about her strength. And then IS and Nintendo decided to make her weaker than the guys every game after. Sorry about the rant, it just irritates me that despite everything pointing to Lucina being STRONGER than Chrom, they always give her less strength.
I feel like Lyn could be like a more speed and combo-oriented character with maybe the trade off being a bit less base power, honestly I felt like Lucina was a bit of a waste of a slot so I feel like she should be reduced to a skin or something.
Austin Games No she wasn’t a waste. She was originally going to be an alt for Marth. However, the developers had extra time so they tweaked her move set to be slightly different from Marth’s. She’s basically a free addition and didn’t replace any other character.
Honestly, when I first saw this, I was all like "hey Max we already have like 6 Fire Emblem characters" but I'd like to see -Corrin leave Smash- and the Breidablik ability. And Lyn, of course.
I actually really like the idea of putting in the feh gun as an item to shoot out a random character I'd love to see it in smash switch. Though it'd probably be tough for them to model every playable character in fe history for it haha
They don't have to make it be able to spawn every character from any game. Instead, they can just narrow it down to about 20 or so (maybe 30, give or take) and use them as potential summons.
I SAW THAT TMS ANNA. Also, Celica is a lot faster than Robin, but a bit more of a glass cannon so it might work, -Alm is cool but i feel his moveset would be kind of like an alt link, since he uses bows and swords- What if they put chrom as a Lucina alt, wait, no, Lucy has less bulk. Maybe lyn could use sword and bow like acrobat-style, but idk, maybe just the Sol Katti would work. -Honestly tho, I think Kirby needs more rep. BEST BOY GOOEY FOR SMASH-
Lank the Dank Actually, Double Lion is just like Link's side smash. He also shares a lot of his animations in dungeon crawling and aerial combat during his crits and finishers (He defeats duma with Link's DAir). He is even left handed and has a shield in promotion. He is pretty much Link with a few more thrusting and leaping moves and sendscale.
using the shield to bash people with would certainly make him an alternative to the item-heavy Link, even if it's not the most original moveset or the best choice for a new FE representative
*OBJECTION!* Your Honor, I thought I would come up with an objection while writing the comment... I didn't. Ace Attorney jokes aside, yes, Heroes' characters are based on Norse Mythology. It's just a case that I'd read Breidablik in italian the correct way. especially after GEYRSKOGELL
The top 3 I feel are very good choices and would especially love Lyn getting on the playable roster! I also love the idea of the Breidablik (pardon my spelling, if it's wrong), where it's basically a Poke Ball except with Fire Emblem characters!
Marth and Ike will always be in the games I suspect, they could even have a Lucina alt built into Marth. I would love if they kept Robin in Smash, I loved his moveset. They will obviously have a character from the new switch game (perhaps as dlc.) I would love for a lance user like Azura, she should have been in 4 over Corrin. I would really like to see either Fjorm, Alfonse, or even Veronica from heroes in the game as well.
Weird to see two Fates reps? Awakening has two. Lucina and Robin. I don't see anything weird since Fates was a highly popular selling game like Awakening. If anything, Azura would be extremely fitting for Smash. She wouldn't be like any Sword user in the game so far. She would be able to use Water Magic. Honestly, she would be better then having another Sword user joining Smash. Azura has alot of potential for a Smash moveset. If anything, if she did make it in. It would be my favorite installment of the game from the series.
I love #5 idea thats great, and i agree with all these ESPECIALLY #1 DADDY SAKURAI PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PUT HER IN AT LEAST IF NOT IN THE BASE GAME MAKE HER DLC
My picks 1. Anna 2. Azura 3. Veronica 4. Celica & Alm 5. Tiki I really like Hector, but I think Anna can do what he can do and much more I love Lyn too, but I think the assist trophy works well enough
Why does everyone call Lyn "the first lord" when literally Eliwood and Hector are there as well. Sure, you see her first, but that doesn't really mean shes the first lord for us.
No story relevance and is subpar yet she is more popular than Eliwood or Hector and is the most popular fire emblem female despite her game being old and her being irrelevant in it.
Kinda crazy they added Chrom, who is just a mix of other FE characters (not to mention *another* sword user) and not Ephraim, who has the potential for an amazing moveset and a different play style. Feels bad.
If I could rewrite Smash Bros' history however I wanted: 1.) Marth (Sword rep, series icon) 2.) Ephraim (Lance rep) 3.) Hector (Axe rep) 4.) Robin (Magic rep) 5.) Anna (Bow rep, semi-series mascot) 6.) Corrin (Stones rep) 7.) Black Knight (Heavy Armor/ Villain rep) 8.) Byleth (Jack of most trades, master of none) I believe this would best encapsulate all of Fire Emblem's strategy and weapon diversity rather than having most characters be sword-wielders. Honestly their are several substitutions that could be made, like if Corrin was slightly more expendable as Fates' rep then I'd pick Awakening Tiki over Corrin and Azura over Ephraim (while also playing double duty as the "second turn" rep), and really the only thing stopping me from doing so is the fact that the sword they do wield is a flaming chainsaw-sword which would be too much of a shame to lose.
I appreciate you including Ephraim even though you're not the biggest fan. I can understand why some may not like him, and I think part of it is because his uniqueness shines more in his supports than in the main storyline. To each their own. I personally don't think Lyn's moveset would be that unique in smash, or maybe I'm just sick of all the swords.
I still don’t want more fire emblem characters. I’ve been playing the fire emblem games for so long, but there’s way too many of them in smash and it’s filling up the slots for characters we actually want. I know the video acknowledges this viewpoint, but I think we have enough swordsmen in the game for a long time.
I totally agree with this video tbh. As much as I want Celica or Hector, Lyn and the FE16 main lord are the most likely to make it in Smash 5 as new reps.
Seriously? I get that many people do not like Fates and Azura, but I honestly think that she would have the most unique moveset of any potential new character. Lance has never been used, but that's not her only point. She can combine lance with dancer-inspired moves. Which still ist not her only point. She also got water abilities. Like, other FE chars wouldn't be bad, but people gotta admit that Azura could make for a really unique moveset, having 2 completely untouched subjects (at least for Smash) combined in her moveset. (water is the only one that has been touched, even though I barely want to honor the little importance water has for Marios and Greninjas moveset xD
awakenedCrowlStudios wait people don’t like fe fates? I thought people loved it mainly because it was the only one I ever heard people talk about. And azura is the top waifu in my entire school 😂
Personally, I really don't care for most of the characters on this list. Lyn would be cool, but it annoys me how so many people want her after all of the complaining about sword and FE characters (I hear people who aren't even FE fans asking for her regularly, like what?) And I've never really been a fan of Ephraim or Hector. They're cool, they have weapons unused in Smash thus far, they'd probably be pretty unique. I just don't really get their appeal. Not to discredit them, that's just how I feel about them. That Bleidablik idea is fantastic, I love it. I'm glad you spoke about Anna though. I never see anyone speak about her for some reason. She's been in the most games of any FE character and has used three different weapons between the three games, so she has plenty going for her. As you said as well, she could do things like throw coins and treasure around since being a merchant is her thing. It's quite baffling to me that she's not been added to Smash already, even as an assist trophy. I can't think of a FE character more deserving of being in the game than her, playable or otherwise. One idea I had for her is she could could have her personal skill from Fates as a mechanic, where she could collect up to 3 gold bars at a time which she'd earn by taking stocks from opponents, and she could have Spendsthrift as one of her specials where she'd use a gold bar to deal massive damage to an enemy. It sounds gimmicky, but the way you have to be patient and think about when would be a good time to use it would add a little bit of strategy to her moveset, and since FE is all about strategy it's quite fitting. IMO anyway. She's able to use staves too in some games, so she could even use those somehow, like Warp or Entrap.
I honestly think Alm could work. It might be difficult, but given the fact IS made him left handed in Echoes, his move set could be fairly different from other sword characters. Heck, if I'm remembering correctly, that's pretty much one of the reasons they made him left handed (to make different, distinct animation for him). Plus, he gets a bow when he promotes, so he could have a sword and a bow. I mean, I know there are other characters like that to an extent, but I feel like they could make a fairly unique move set for him with both these in mind. Not to mention his final smash could be extremely epic given his personal skill. +_+ Also, is it bad I wish they'd put a TMS character in? I know it's highly unlikely, but I think it'd be really cool to see what they could do with Touma or Tsubasa.
I like the breakdalib's idea too. Something that i want is the triangle of weapons in smash with characters with lances or axes. Sorry for my bad english
Azura would be a long shot and even though it would be an honorable mention I feel that Corrin won't make it to the base game and maybe be DLC cause she is a overpowered. Plus fates never got full representation cause it came after Sm4sh and it was introduced through Sm4sh too. Plus weapon triangle advantage.
I find it unfair how some people complain about too many Fire Emblem characters in Smash, but no one complains about too many Mario or Pokémon characters. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Mario and Pokémon, but I still find this unfair.
I like the idea of having the Tactician from Blazing Blade as a fighter, who works similar to pokemon trainer controlling Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector. They could even pull moves from their promotions, like Lyn using a bow or Eliwood summoning his horse like how Wario summons a motorcycle
This is my list: 5. Ephiram 4. Tiki 3. Azura 2. Hector 1. Celica (I just want my girl!!!) Honarable mentions: - Chrom - Anna - Lyn I mainly want Celica, but I also would like these characters to get a spot in smash! Also, I want your number 5 idea to be implemented in Smash!
Ooh boy, when you mentioned Ephraim, I was worried because I wanted to express my dislike of him in a way that didn't pretty much make us repeat our Warriors problems (which are thankfully behind us and now my problems with Warriors are a thing of the past), but then you said you weren't a big fan of Ephraim for the exact same reasons I don't like him, so I got happy real fast, that's a possible conflict avoided Anyways, YES, Lyn definitely needs to be playable in the next Smash game, she more than deserves it and they can make her so unique and awesome. I really hope she's made playable, that would just be so awesome
For Azura: They could also take a page from Jigglypuff (When Jigglypuff sings she puts surrounding players to sleep) since some of her magic was used when she sings in Fates. That's just what I think.
Your breidablik idea is really good, it can be used to represent the other classes that wouldn’t work as smash fighters like Pegasus knights could be caeda or Cordelia or hinoka, the cavaliers could be eliwood or Frederick or Xander, Wyvern riders could be Minerva or Camilla and so on, we could get healers, archers and dragon stone users represented as well. I agree with hector and ephraim They’ll fit in perfectly. I can see Lyn happening even if we get the newest fire emblem rep. I can picture celica as a clone of robin, they just need to change all the magic with fire magic.
I still want my Selkie in smash. Unique Fe characters would be great, and how can you get more unique than with a Beast Unit? (i just want my happy lil Kitsune in smash pls)
Bro, your concept of summoning heroes with an item, specifically using breidablik is so awesome and yet very believable. It could also be a way to tie in smash players to the mobile game
2:27 i know where this is going... THE BREIDABLIK!!! DO IT SAKURAI!!! REPRESENT EVERY LEGENDARY WEAPON FROM ALL GAMES!! 5:26 HAVE HER HUSBAND JAKE FIRE A BALLISTA SHOT AT *THE ENEMY* !!!
I would love to see Ephraim. The tipper mechanic could be expanded on, so that the tip of his spear has the biggest knock back and the rest of his spear could have limited knockback, or even a set knock back. A mix of stabs, and spear spins would be cool
Great list! I know people don’t want MORE FE characters in Smash, so they could just replace the unnecessary ones that are already there. Lyn, Hector and Ephraim could replace Lucina, Roy and Corrin.
Lucina I think is too too popular, but Corrin has no reason to stay and Roy has had his run...honestly I could see Marth go over Lucina. As long as we get Lyn and Hector I will be happy.
taxidrivernwo Corrin has an extremely unique moveset, he/she is definitely one of the more different characters in the game, so I think it'd be a bit silly to replace them. Besides, why replace Roy for having had his run when, by that logic, Marth might as well be removed as well? He's been here just as long.
Honestly? I would love to see Takumi. And while I get that he's not a lord, he's a very iconic character from Fates, on the level of Corrin and Azura. And even then, you can play around with a moveset because of the Fujin Yumi's ability to generate arrows, meaning his jab could be sword-style swipes with one of those energy arrows. I even had ideas for smash attacks, being that side and up smash would be shooting an arrow in that direction (think Corrin side smash and Marthcina up-smash with a further reach and no side hitbox), and then like, down smash would bring up something similar to Mega Man's, Takumi fires an arrow straight down and it spreads into two gales that strike to either side of him.
Number one was definitely no surprise there but how you presented Lyn was fun enough. What got me interested was your #5 the summoning weapon in Heroes. That would be a great addition to summon items like the poke balls and assist trophies plus it is one thing to dedicate one item to FE characters to leave room for other as assist trophies. Just one problem, when the summoning weapon ended up summing better than how you summon in the game, good 5* units
Honestly. After Lyn, I’d love me some cavaliers, having a all the different cavaliers from other games as skins, or like an ice climbers duo of some Xmas cavaliers, just think of how interesting a mount based character would be, and being able to choose from all you’re favourites would be awesome too. Kent, sain, lowen, (even add in the paladins) Marcus, Seth, franz, Kyle, ford, Allen, etc. ALL THE SKINS!!!!!!
I've said this before and I'll repeat it as much as I have to. SuperSmash is NOT a game that focuses on weapons like Soul Calibur. Whether or not a character uses weapons, or swords to be specific, is IRRELEVANT. SSB is a game series for VIDEOGAME CHARACTERS. Claiming there's "too many swordusers" or "too many FE representatives" is not only stupid, but flawed, lazy, and outright meaningless. FE has become one of Nintendo's flagships. Of course there's going to be more representatives there! There's a vastly bigger cast of characters than LoZ for instance. Oh, so you think 12 characters out of 56 is too much? Boo hoo. You think FE's 6 character representation is too much? Last I checked, Mario had 11. And before you say that Donkey Kong, WarioWare, and Yoshi are separate franchises, let's not forget that they all are part of MARIO party and MARIO kart. And Pokémon has 6 reps as well but of course people turn a blind eye to that because bashing on FE is the cool thing to do. ;) So, what have you learned today? *Videogame Characters using weapons/swords in SSB is irrelevant as weapons are not the focus of the game. Might as well complain about how many characters uses punches and kicks. *Fire Emblem possibly getting another representative in the form of a fighter is only bad for people who think that they have the same input in development as the developers and thus are not worth talking about. *SSB is a game series for Videogame characters. It's not based on weapon types, it's not based on YOUR feelings regarding a game. If Sakurai thinks a character would be fun to add, then let him. It's his choice, not yours. All clear? Good. If not; sucks to be you.
So...It's flawed, lazy or stupid to claim the moveset pool of characters is getting stale because of the basis? Is it flawed to say even bigger franchises aren't getting as many reps(I cal bullshit on the statement about Zelda, there are characters with bigger moveset potential than over 50% if not 75% of the Fire Emblem cast. PER GAME)? Yes, Fire Emblem is getting bigger. That doesn't mean people are liking how poorly it has been handled or how the utter lack of variety feels. "Fire Emblem possibly getting another representative in the form of a fighter is only bad for people who think that they have the same input in development as the developers and thus are not worth talking about." Good ad hoc, but it's bullshit. People have the right to not be OK with a potential idea in an upcoming game. Doesn't mean they feel entitled or they think they have that input, it just means they do not have a high opinion on the idea. Your only genuinely valid point is that Sakurai has the last word. And that's not a point about quality.
dude, the problem is not the fact that everyone is carrying a sword, but that all those characters have a pretty simular fighting style in the original game. So letting them join ssb5 would result in marth, lucina, roy, alm, chrom and even more from the history of fe lords being in the game and all having almost simular attacks.
I'd change up lucina's move set up then stick chrom on as a skin since its stated multiple times they have a similar fighting style with the exact same sword.
You mentioned many times the Choose Your Legends results during your list, and it gave me an idea of who could work as a mage only fighter: -Reinhardt- Veronica You might think she's a weird pick but: - She did earn a spot in the CYL2 top 4, one way or the other - She has a villain-ish role, which Smash lacks - But most importantly: it would a very Sakurai move
if lyn becomes playable they need to do whatever it takes to get wendee lee to voice lyn also get yuri lowenthal to voice marth, ray chase to voice roy (if he comes back) and alexis tipton to voice lucina (if she comes back in any way)
Alm is also a bow wielder, making him NOT a complete clone from the other sword fighters, he also wields two legendary blades (being Falchion and Royal Sword) so take your pick. He has a shield on his right hand. It can act like Links shield. He also can have his blade be done where the tip is a neutral and the core is a sweet spot, the middle of his blade being a sour spot. Kinda a Lucina and Roy hybrid with some Link move sets too. His final smash can either be scendscale or his final blow on Duma making kinda like a cutscene. Giving him a Roy skin just wouldn’t make sense (Alms swords don’t have a fire effect) if anything, make him a Marth skin because their stories actually take place in same universe but in different continents.
Glad I'm not the only one who thought about having Breidablik as a new Assist Trophy item. If I can add to that, Sakurai likes to add details so maybe the Breidablik shoots an orb and whatever color that orb is will determine what kind of character you'll get. Like Red would have Navarre, Celica, etc. Blue would have Reinhardt, Oboro, etc. Green would have Bartre, Merric, etc. Gray would have Takumi, Lissa, etc.
I could see Ephraim skill list being akin to Marth's, with critical being his special and he can T I P as neutral B. Up B would be like dolphin slash, and down B could be Ephraim slamming his lance in place. I could also see, as the ice climbers are removed, they could potentially replace them with an Alm and Celica duo.
If a mage that is only a mage should get in smash, i think Nino could be the one. She's the most popular FE7 characer in japan, she even gained more popularity thanks to heroes, is seriously at least as important as the 3 lords( i would like to note that she have more charater development, depht to her character, and more plot revelance than the 3 lords, while being a charcter that you get at the end of the game), and her play stylecould be just so amazing. Like a Megaman on crack. By that i mean an ultra chaotic projectile based character, being very fast why low landing lag. She could also be hard to master, reflecting her archetype. Also we need more female characters in smash, even if Lyn and Krystal get in. And if FE switch is a relake of both 7 and 6, she could be promoting a new tale when she is the main character( really, we could learn more about the black fang and it's history, and that would be amazing)!
Lyn's fighting style is actually based on a real swordplay style. Iaijutsu, focused around quick draws and strikes, the style originates in Japan. The speed aspect is a little exaggerated, but the idea's the same. This style has also been used by a number of characters in other games, such as Zhou Tai in Dynasty Warriors, Setsuka in Soulcalibur, Ikaruga in Senran Kagura, Ukyo in Samurai Shodown, and Yusuke in Persona 5.
Although Lyn,Celica,Ephraim,Hector and Tiki are all good candidates for smash, I would really like it they added Hardin from FE3. He'd be a new villian Character for smash and he'd also be Lance and armored unit. They could implement bold fighter in his moveset with his smash attacks having double inputs like Links smash attacks. He could lunge at opponents and throw his Gradivus as a side special. It'd be great having Hardin but I do see why he's chances are low as he isn't very popular and is from the older games. Still it'd be cool.
Yo! I had the same idea for Breidablik. Not only that but I also thought Blade core crystals from Xenoblade 2 can also work in a similiar fashion. What I would like to see for next Smash is a "Weapon Triangle" trailer. It starts of by showing Lucina once again in the arena but, they have now changed her moveset and given her the lance Geirskögul. Camera turns around revealing her opponent this time and it's Hector. After showing some gameplay they go back to a cutscene where Hector picks up an assist trophy. Lyn comes out with an updated look and turns around to K.O Hector then the screen says *LYN PROMOTES TO PLAYABLE CHARACTER* . Removing her as an assist trophy means there won't be any fire emblem related characters to summon and gives room for the Breidablik concept! They should reveal the item in the trailer aswell.
Honestly, Alm in Smash would make me buy a Switch immediately. In order to make him unique, they could make him an Awakening style Dread Fighter (in terms of move-set; he'd be wearing the Echoes Hero costume), wielding Sword/Axe/Bow. They could either make him wield a sword that has range and standard power, and he could switch to an axe (Down-B?), and it would have shorter range, but be stronger. The better option for that in my opinion though, is a move-set where he just uses both depending on an attack. Costumes: Echoes Hero, Echoes Fighter, Gaiden box art Alm, Awakening Alm. For specials: His neutral B can be a bow shot, like Link's. Side B: Double Lion. It would be like Ike's Side-B where you can charge it, and he does a long dash and he does an attack when he hits you. It'd obviously be a double strike. Down B: Counter. Up B: Like Aether, where he jumps up into the air and comes directly back down. More specifically, what he uses to kill Duma. Final Smash: Of course, it would be Sendscale. If anything, I'd love to see the Final Smash be: Alm sends the opponent into a cut-scene like Mega Man and Shulk's Final Smash; where Faye (Pegasus Knight), Gray (Dread Fighter), Tobin (Bow Knight), and Kliff (Sage) all attack the opponent like a chain attack, and Alm finishes it off with Sendscale. That's just my little wish for an Alm move-set. Probably won't happen, but it's cool to at least think about.
I think Alm might work like Link, because he does weild a bow (neutral special). Maybe his side special would be a double slash like "double lion". Down special might be a slash that not too powerful but very frame safe and able to lead into anything (basing it off of "subdue")
Lyn deconfirmed
#FeelsBadMan Guess it's either no one at all, or potentially Edelgard from Three Houses for DLC
MaxHP F
MaxHP Do you think Lyn will break free out from the assist trophie?
I mean. Chrom
chroms here though
Hahahaha no. Sorry but eehh if anyone maybe that emo ephraim in the trailer
Smash: Let’s get a different weapon for a Fire Emblem rep.
Dev member: How about an axe?
Smash: Sounds great!
Dev member: Hector?
Smash: Nah... Camilla without a wyvern.
Charlie Grace That would work!
Ha
Gamecube Grant edelgard got leaked and she uses an axe
Smash: how about Byleth for the 5 DLC?
The problem with that breidablik item is that not everyone will have five orbs
Geo Estrella LOL! Hey that's an idea. There are already items that make you build or assemble with parts so gathering 5 orbs wouldn't be too different. Then you just have to worry about the 3% chance of summoning a good character.. 😆
3% chance you get brave lyn and you win the game
You must mean The Reinhardt
Seo Vania that's a weird way to spell Ayra

I think we should just have a fighting game dedicated to Fire Emblem. Entirely FE characters!
real talk I NEED THAT
And its title should be Fighting Emblem
FE warriors kinda did it
Twilightzant 03 not really...
Twilightzant 03
Dynasty Warriors (the game that Warriors is *heavily* based off of) is not a fighting game by any standard (except the fact that there's fighting in it, but then almost all games are fighting games).
ThePsyShyster I'm pretty sure it was on Reddit at some point but the post wasn't that popular.
I hardly visit reddit anymore, but I guess its reassuring to know that I probably would've missed it anyway.
ThePsyShyster I found the thread. It was pretty popular on r/FireEmblemHeroes. www.reddit.com/r/FireEmblemHeroes/comments/877euj/i_made_a_concept_for_a_breidablik_item_in_smash/?st=JGIGZRWA&sh=a6742036
Casdi Didn't expect you to go out of your way to find this. Thank you.
ThePsyShyster I just googled "Smash Switch breidablik concept".
BLAZINGKNIGHT i hope the trio is at least handled better. It was handled so badly in brawl.
BLAZINGKNIGHT Love the idea. It would really show of the diversity FE has to offer. And if you let Eliwood use a lance (maybe just for a side B), pop a Sol Katti on Lyn and of course give Hector his axe, it’s a great ode to the weapon triangle.
Hello again Blazingknight. My pick for Smash's new FE rep is Fjorm. What do you think?
It think it's a nice idea, brand new character, lance based, ice based attacks, represent FE heroes, a little obscure but still... cool! ;)
BLAZINGKNIGHT well I don't know how active you are on Google+, but I made a poll about putting her in Smash. In the comments section, there's a moveset I made. If you have some time, maybe you could check it out?
The main positive if Lyn got into Smash: Zerk’s reaction as well as him completely nutting his pants.
Star Falchion Nutting his pants, really? If Lyn really did get in Smash, Zerk would explode with that nut and said explosion would cause a magnitude 5 Earthquake in Canada. Xp
Jared Fayette Sorry, I said the simplified version
Star Falchion It’s okay. I was just messing with you. Xp
Star Falchion Yeah basicly
Star Falchion Hector is better.
“Ephraim is the only lance lord atm”

With the idea of skins, maybe this:
Chrom - Ike Skin
Lucina - Marth Skin
Alm - Roy Skin
Celica - Robin Skin.
Idk.
Celica as Robin skin doesn't really fits her at all.
In some ways, yes it would be unfitting. I just think if people wanted her in the game at all it shouldn't be with her own slot as we already have so many reps. They don't have to add her in, yeah- but if they did it could be an option just because they are both sword/magic styled fighters. Otherwise the Breidablik doesn't sound like a bad idea.
i would be okay with that
Roy isn't left handed. Thus, Alm can't be a Roy skin/clone.
They could just flip him then have him left handed.
I COMPLETELY DISAGREE!!!!
Leave all the jiggle physics
now here's someone who makes sense
They'd have to add Kasumi for that
For Lance characters, it's either Ephraim......or Bandanna Dee
bandanna dee is my favorite fire emblem lord
and Star Fox's resident hottie, Krystal....don't forget, the staff used in Star Fox Adventures is actually Krystal's.
Boshwa yes, we need the pure boy bandana dee.
Or Amelia or Mozu.
"I think it would be weird to have 2 fates reps."
Me: And it's not weird to have 2 awakening reps
Well one of them is a clone soooo....
*echo!*
"I don't think I want chrom"
Sakurai : oh you want Chrom here you go
Although it's No.
Some people like to watch the world burn
Someone very important is missing from this list
What happened to Dorcas?
Sakurai put poison in his mutton
Yannick Luecker Bartre tho.
@MaxHP New item idea. Mutton, 50% chance to be poisoned mutton that deals damage instead of healing you.
I feel like Lyn could be like a more speed and combo-oriented character with maybe the trade off being a bit less base power, honestly I felt like Lucina was a bit of a waste of a slot so I feel like she should be reduced to a skin or something.
bayonetta is not a speed character. fox and sonic are.
There's no such thing as character slots. Lucina was a free addition
Don't forget dual swords and the fact that she uses bows
Austin Games No she wasn’t a waste. She was originally going to be an alt for Marth. However, the developers had extra time so they tweaked her move set to be slightly different from Marth’s. She’s basically a free addition and didn’t replace any other character.
Honestly, when I first saw this, I was all like "hey Max we already have like 6 Fire Emblem characters" but I'd like to see -Corrin leave Smash- and the Breidablik ability. And Lyn, of course.
Yun Doubt Corrin is going anywhere. He/she is still very relevant. And the original moveset.
When i saw two I just kept mudering azura "only lord that weilds a lance"
Me:azura?
Azura is no Lord.
I think it should Be Azura,Since She Would Bring A Unique Moveset Maybe
I SAW THAT TMS ANNA.
Also, Celica is a lot faster than Robin, but a bit more of a glass cannon so it might work, -Alm is cool but i feel his moveset would be kind of like an alt link, since he uses bows and swords-
What if they put chrom as a Lucina alt, wait, no, Lucy has less bulk.
Maybe lyn could use sword and bow like acrobat-style, but idk, maybe just the Sol Katti would work.
-Honestly tho, I think Kirby needs more rep. BEST BOY GOOEY FOR SMASH-
Alm wouldn’t be THAT similar to Link. He has abilities like Double Lion that could make his moveset more unique.
The Breidablik idea sounds awesome. I would love to use it and get Wrys to heal me a very small amount of health
*When you're italian and you've always pronouced Breidablik the correct way without knowing it* B)
Emboar bof Oh my! So Odin is Italian? 0^0
I'm pretty sure most of the names, places, weapons, etc are all based in Norse mythology
*OBJECTION!*
Your Honor, I thought I would come up with an objection while writing the comment...
Love ya
I think that too
I love #5 idea thats great, and i agree with all these ESPECIALLY #1 DADDY SAKURAI PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PUT HER IN AT LEAST IF NOT IN THE BASE GAME MAKE HER DLC
My picks
1. Anna
2. Azura
3. Veronica
4. Celica & Alm
5. Tiki
I really like Hector, but I think Anna can do what he can do and much more
I love Lyn too, but I think the assist trophy works well enough
Also imo I think Chrom & Lucina would be the perfect way to include Chrom and distinctify Lucina
Best number 1 pick.
"oof" -MaxHP, 2018
Quote of the year
Great Video!
I'm in there, the Breiablik Item would be nice and Lyn.
Elise as a joke character? Maybe she could have a move where she heals herself, Sakura as an echo? Idk. I'd like Azura as the last FE character.
Why does everyone call Lyn "the first lord" when literally Eliwood and Hector are there as well. Sure, you see her first, but that doesn't really mean shes the first lord for us.
My picks are:
1. FE16 MyUnit/Lord
2. Fjorm
3. Lyn
4. Celica
5. Tiki
I also see Veronica as a good choice plus a villain.
Lyn is equally as important as Marth, she should be on smash already.
Indeed, she deserves that chanse
Not really, she has no story relevance and is quite subpar of a unit in her own game, even after she gets the Sol Katti.
No excuses, lets give her a chanse
Id rather not. She already is in the game as an assist trophy, thats more than enough.
No story relevance and is subpar yet she is more popular than Eliwood or Hector and is the most popular fire emblem female despite her game being old and her being irrelevant in it.
I knew Lyn would be on the number one slot!
Unrealistically Jill, realistically I don't care.
Aran xD

Loved that Odin bit! XD
Best idea for a Smash list ever
Kinda crazy they added Chrom, who is just a mix of other FE characters (not to mention *another* sword user) and not Ephraim, who has the potential for an amazing moveset and a different play style. Feels bad.
If I could rewrite Smash Bros' history however I wanted:
1.) Marth (Sword rep, series icon)
2.) Ephraim (Lance rep)
3.) Hector (Axe rep)
4.) Robin (Magic rep)
5.) Anna (Bow rep, semi-series mascot)
6.) Corrin (Stones rep)
7.) Black Knight (Heavy Armor/ Villain rep)
8.) Byleth (Jack of most trades, master of none)
I believe this would best encapsulate all of Fire Emblem's strategy and weapon diversity rather than having most characters be sword-wielders.
I would still add Ike and Lucina
But Lucina being just a Marth skin
Tone down the jiggle physics? NO! Tone them up! We need Perun levels of jiggle in smash.
Gotta keep that E10 rating tho
No boobs
Only Mario's nose
maeplesutoory
I appreciate you including Ephraim even though you're not the biggest fan. I can understand why some may not like him, and I think part of it is because his uniqueness shines more in his supports than in the main storyline. To each their own. I personally don't think Lyn's moveset would be that unique in smash, or maybe I'm just sick of all the swords.
Admittedly I didn't really go for supports much in my playthrough of FE8. Maybe I'll go look some of those up if I have time.
You are indeed sick of all the swords, as i dont think shadow clone jutsus have even been used as part of a moveset as a whole
Project M might give some ideas.
I want Alm and Celica to be a 2 in one character, like Sheik and Zelda.
Lank the Dank Same I really want a successful switching character.
I still don’t want more fire emblem characters. I’ve been playing the fire emblem games for so long, but there’s way too many of them in smash and it’s filling up the slots for characters we actually want. I know the video acknowledges this viewpoint, but I think we have enough swordsmen in the game for a long time.
Why not Azura instead of Ephraim? I mean..come on!
The slow motion “Oof” killed me 😂
I totally agree with this video tbh. As much as I want Celica or Hector, Lyn and the FE16 main lord are the most likely to make it in Smash 5 as new reps.
Just hope they won't be another Marth clone
As long as Ike comes back I’ll be happy
Valordin I just want Ike to be good. Please. PLEASE.
ike is decent. better than he ever has been if you dont count PM. a very meat n' potatoes character.
I'd be totally fine with Azura tbh. I only put her in honorable mentions because I don't think she'd be that likely.
Wasn't meant to be criticism on the video :3 I just really think that she'd be an awesome Smash character.
I really liked the video and left a sub ^^
awakenedCrowlStudios wait people don’t like fe fates?
Grimahim I also don't understand why Anna isn't such a top pick and not in Smash already for the reason of being in almost all FE games.
I personally want Celica. She's the one that I think would be most unique.
Also, is it bad I wish they'd put a TMS character in? I know it's highly unlikely, but I think it'd be really cool to see what they could do with Touma or Tsubasa.
I find it funny he kept saying Anna a bunch of times and my name is Anna.
Him: *"Anna"*
Me: *"Can I help you?"*
I want Micaiah
Yuria 《Naga's blood》 that would be awesome
Celica could be an Echo Fighter for Robin. Also Am I The only one who would want Felicia in Smash?
I want flora and Jakob
Anna and lyn ftw
I like the breakdalib's idea too. Something that i want is the triangle of weapons in smash with characters with lances or axes. Sorry for my bad english
All I want is Caeda, Eliwood, Hector, and Tiki
Azura would be a long shot and even though it would be an honorable mention I feel that Corrin won't make it to the base game and maybe be DLC cause she is a overpowered. Plus fates never got full representation cause it came after Sm4sh and it was introduced through Sm4sh too. Plus weapon triangle advantage.
10:36, 14:37 THAT'S ME! i am greatly honored Max!
YEEEES ADD ALL THE FIRE EMBLEM CHARACTERS FOR SMASH 5 YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSS
No Celica 0/10 would not see a top 10 again
Just kidding love the list keep up the good work but I really want celica in
I find it unfair how some people complain about too many Fire Emblem characters in Smash, but no one complains about too many Mario or Pokémon characters. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Mario and Pokémon, but I still find this unfair.
1:35,WOW
I like the idea of having the Tactician from Blazing Blade as a fighter, who works similar to pokemon trainer controlling Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector. They could even pull moves from their promotions, like Lyn using a bow or Eliwood summoning his horse like how Wario summons a motorcycle
This is my list:
5. Ephiram
4. Tiki
3. Azura
2. Hector
1. Celica (I just want my girl!!!)
Honarable mentions:
- Chrom
- Anna
- Lyn
I mainly want Celica, but I also would like these characters to get a spot in smash! Also, I want your number 5 idea to be implemented in Smash!
maan skills Azura
I just want Azura
It's obvious the new ones are Alm, Celica, & Rowan/Lianna
Waheed Abdullah FE16?
Ooh boy, when you mentioned Ephraim, I was worried because I wanted to express my dislike of him in a way that didn't pretty much make us repeat our Warriors problems (which are thankfully behind us and now my problems with Warriors are a thing of the past), but then you said you weren't a big fan of Ephraim for the exact same reasons I don't like him, so I got happy real fast, that's a possible conflict avoided
Anyways, YES, Lyn definitely needs to be playable in the next Smash game, she more than deserves it and they can make her so unique and awesome. I really hope she's made playable, that would just be so awesome
Lyn will never be playable in smash. Deal with it.
Roy Number 1 well you're never gonna get LA!Roy, OR ANY OTHER ALT OF HIM THAT MAY COME OUT
For Azura: They could also take a page from Jigglypuff (When Jigglypuff sings she puts surrounding players to sleep) since some of her magic was used when she sings in Fates. That's just what I think.
I would like to see Eirika as a costume for Marth
stan garza !!!
Eirika Is Bae
Did I say something wrong?
It could also be a way to tie in smash players to the mobile game
lyn being number 1 pleases me greatly
2:27
i know where this is going... THE BREIDABLIK!!! DO IT SAKURAI!!! REPRESENT EVERY LEGENDARY WEAPON FROM ALL GAMES!!
5:26
HAVE HER HUSBAND JAKE FIRE A BALLISTA SHOT AT *THE ENEMY* !!!
I saw that 1:35
I would love to see Ephraim.
He's been here just as long.
marth has posterboy status. though i dont want to see my boi go.
getting rid of clone characters wont help either.
All you need to do is just make lucina a skin
Lyn is overhyped
Franklin Sifre that’s an understatement.
Agreed.
Franklin Sifre severely overhyped
I agree
"If she is popular she is overhyped"
Number one was definitely no surprise there but how you presented Lyn was fun enough. What got me interested was your #5 the summoning weapon in Heroes. That would be a great addition to summon items like the poke balls and assist trophies plus it is one thing to dedicate one item to FE characters to leave room for other as assist trophies. Just one problem, when the summoning weapon ended up summing better than how you summon in the game, good 5* units
I saw that at 1:35 XD
I can't pause it for the life of me, is there a way to advance a youtube video frame by frame lmao
@Hawelo92 set the playback speed to 0.25
And Pokémon has 6 reps as well but of course people turn a blind eye to that because bashing on FE is the cool thing to do. ;)
So, what have you learned today?
"Fire Emblem possibly getting another representative in the form of a fighter is only bad for people who think that they have the same input in development as the developers and thus are not worth talking about."
Good ad hoc, but it's bullshit.
Pokémon is more famous sooo..
I'd change up lucina's move set up then stick chrom on as a skin since its stated multiple times they have a similar fighting style with the exact same sword.
You mentioned many times the Choose Your Legends results during your list, and it gave me an idea of who could work as a mage only fighter:
-Reinhardt-
Veronica
You might think she's a weird pick but:
- She did earn a spot in the CYL2 top 4, one way or the other
- She has a villain-ish role, which Smash lacks
- But most importantly: it would a very Sakurai move
if lyn becomes playable they need to do whatever it takes to get wendee lee to voice lyn
also get yuri lowenthal to voice marth, ray chase to voice roy (if he comes back) and alexis tipton to voice lucina (if she comes back in any way)
Alm is also a bow wielder, making him NOT a complete clone from the other sword fighters, he also wields two legendary blades (being Falchion and Royal Sword) so take your pick.
Micaiah is my most wanted Fire Emblem character, followed by either Alm or Celica. The Breidablik idea is awesome by the way!
