      Thank you so much. I am really glad it was helpful. When I was going to do the project myself I looked everywhere toying to find information and a video. The few I found didn't show much so I tried to make a video with a bit more detail for people. So I am really glad it was helpful. Have a great day.

    Your video helped us decide what to do about our own overhang. Instead of purchasing elbows to go around our overhang we can just do what you did and attach some brackets to the tee. Thats gonna be way more cost efficient bc those 30 degree elbows are high dollar! Thanks for the video!

      Supper glad it helped and yes the 30 degree pieces are crazy expensive. Best of luck and be careful on that ladder. If you need any pictures of what I did fill free to email me. The address is in the description.

      @@chickenhawkfarmstead8478 -- What I'm trying to figure out is this.. My basement is a walk out basement. Our house is brick w/metal roof. I have to cut through 6" of block plus another 3" or so of exterior brick. At the roof I have a 16" eave. Plus I imagine I will need to have a few inches between eave and pipe at the roof. I've been trying to plan this out but I keep getting stumped when I try to find the horizontal pipe I would need.

    You should trim the excess to the outside of the wall plate that hits the ribs of your wall. It would fit and look more clean. But this setup looks good too.

    What this chimney is for and is it aloud to make it at 90 degree angle in US chimney standards? We are not allowed to do it in the UK. Max is 45 degree.

      I use it for my Wood burning stove. 3 years and no problems. I would not do this in a house personally. This is my shop. I didn't ask the government for permission. Is it optimal no, but does it work and keep from cutting a hole in the roof? Yes. As always, you have to calculate your own risk. Hope that helps some.

    I remember having a wood stove in my first home and the code was the pipe had to be higher than the peak of the roof. Isn't that the case anymore?

    • @chickenhawkfarmstead8478
      @chickenhawkfarmstead8478  Рік тому +1

      Code? Lol, it's an outbuilding. But yea, I have heard that before. I don't know the true reason, mostly something to do with ash landing on the roof. I guess. But if you want to make yours taller, you can. You'll just need more pipe and more support. Over the years, I found lots of codes are outdated or have no practical reasons.

  • @stevewalsh585
    @stevewalsh585 2 роки тому +2

    You obviously had to buy another section of pipe in addition to the one provided in the kit to go through the wall. You mentioned your overhang was about 12 inches so did you just buy another 1 foot section or did you buy a 2 foot section to go through the wall?

    • @chickenhawkfarmstead8478
      @chickenhawkfarmstead8478  2 роки тому +2

      I did not have the whole kit I got everything off Facebook marketplace other then the thrown the wall pice and a 3foot section of Insulated pipe. But I did use a 3 foot section of insulated pipe to go through the wall. That way I had plenty to work with and I had room to move the stove around inside. Hope that helps some. And yes i know that pipe is crazy expensive but just keep reminding yourself of what your going to save on heating costs in the long run. Current setup a hazard. I use a small chunk stove I have to dose every 15-30 minutes. The stove guy said I could have a high efficiency stove that only needs dosed every 10-12 hrs.
