Wanted to add that I have twice gotten a speed upgrade out of the power back archetype. That's over a lot of upgrades playing a lot of franchise so it can happen but it is very unlikely.
Can’t imagine the amount of work that went into this video. I learned a few things as well. Appreciate the video. The one thing that bothers me about OL is they have a pass protection archetype but not a run blocking one. I’ve had multiple times I’ve had a good pass protector with power and finesse. But north run blocking power and finesse are brutal. Having an option to work on both of those at once like pass blocking does would be really nice
This is exactly what I was looking for as a returning madden player. I now understand what archetype to choose depending on the style of defense and offense I want to run! Thank you 🤝
Oh my gosh I’ve been searching for a video like this for weeks and you just popped up today thanks. The only other video I’m looking for is one on play rec and awareness for corner backs and how it effects them. Gained a new follower looking forward to the next video
This is a great video. Really helpful in deciding which scheme I want to use for a new franchise, as I can use ones that allow players to get the most bang for their buck when scheme fits.
This video will get a lot of watch time hours because I will use this as a reference guide before I spend any skill point 😂. You are doing great work for the Madden community.
CB, First off, THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS!!!!! Secondly, I wonder how much the spread is influenced by the existing stats of a player before going through the "forced" upgrades. Suppose you took a player with something like a 75 rating on all stats. Would that significantly change the upgrade percentages for the next 40 or 20 upgrades? Is there an expectation that OT's will be more likely to encounter Speed (Finesse) rushers than Power rushers? If so, then you would expect Madden to provide more Finesse Blocking to OT's than Power Blocking just because they are more likely to encounter Speed rushers on the outside than on the inside? Does that mean that a player should emphasize Power Rushing for his Edge Rushers as the CPU is less likely to be able to counter those skills? What percentage of Edge Rushers are actually Power Rushers, anyway? I noticed that for your examples (Vikings personnel, of course) that both of the OLB's are actually Power Rushers, despite what the scheme fit would require. Perhaps you have already noticed and reacted to my question. - sj ps. I really hope you will respond to this as I'm interested in knowing your analysis of what the numbers really mean.
I think you are on to something. I have always felt like I should upgrade my OTs for finesse to counter speed rushers and try to aim for power in my guards and center to counter the big DTs. I still like balanced players across the line but if I have to choose one I try going that route. With the big increase in 3-4 fronts I do see there being a really good mix of both power rushers and speed rushers at OLB so I don’t think there is too much of a discrepancy between the two.
Might wanna look into scheme fits, I'm pretty sure if your oline is set to be an agile schemefit the game will give you more chance to get skills in those architypes.....
the scheme fit comes into play by giving you more XP for being scheme fit. The archetype upgrades have certain attributes available in them regardless of what your scheme fit is.
@@CBGamingYT7 I've got my scheme for my CB to be man for example and I get man points when I upgrade zone every like every 4th time...... Just letting you know if you wanna run a quick test on a position with a different scheme if you haven't.
As far as the power back archetype upgrades,I have gotten speed a few times on different players but the thing is that's its very rare BUT out of say 5 times I got the speed on power back upgrades this madden, ALL of them have been +2 ...
Madden on PS2 had such a great player development system I wonder why they just let it go. Such a great game they should go back and take notes from that game
So random question: have you ever gotten 100% scouted players by week 8? I did your spread for the scouts ( the absolute best scouting and drafting video I’ve seen since I’ve been gaming back in 03) my tier 3 scout had its primary and focus position at 100% by week 8. I was wondering if it’s a fluke or something.
Hey bro I’m test play CPU vs CPU like you and I’m having a problem with kickers… I have a 80overall kicker and on the season he’s 22/23 with the only miss being 56 yards… have you had an issues were kickers hardly miss ? Or don’t miss at all ?
@@CBGamingYT7 yea I just dropped it down to 15… I’ll let you know the results. Kickers are supposed to be inconsistent even elite kickers miss at times.
I wanted to use players from every stage of their career to ensure if there was any different type of upgrades I could get that I would get them. What I did was take 10 teams and then simply the season on max out XP. Once the season was done I went through all the teams and spent the upgrades and then would create another franchise file and repeat the process with different players
Honestly I think they changed some things and I realized it today when recording the Panthers episode. I am going to be re-doing this video as soon as I can to see how it compares.
Yeah that’s a big reason that it’s hard for smaller creators to grow past certain milestones. A lot of people have something like equipment break and have to go away for a week or 2 like me. When they come back the audience doesn’t immediately follow and they lose the drive or motivation to keep going. Luckily this isn’t the first issue I’ve had with equipment and not being able to post so I was ready for this to happen lol
Here is a link to the spreadsheet of my findings.

This is an amazing video. Thank you for your hard work
You should of done one where all their stats were at like a 20 and then did the upgrades. Like deep acc 20, awareness 20, etc. 9:49
This content is gold. Thank you!
The video I’ve always wanted!
Strong work! I noticed some of these trends, but didn’t really get a large sample size like you did.
Once again this was super informative! I saw these things in some shorts but they didn’t go into full depth as this so this will greatly help me out!
Thanks for the tedious amount of time & effort you took for this video❗️
Just stumbled across your channel and the videos you make are so helpful! I know it must take a ton of work tho so thank you

I'm late but this is incredible work
This was Amazingly helpful. Even more so with what to focus on in the draft
This video made me slightly less ass at the game. Instant sub.

Thank you for doing this
Should add point per upgrade. Also a important modifier column. Ie 1 speed counts for 1.5 because it's that important
The ROLB on your spread sheet got a like 6 speed tho. Around double vs the rest
There were a few anomalies that I saw but decided not to mention because it wasn’t something that I could replicate
As far as the power back archetype upgrades,I have gotten speed a few times on different players but the thing is that's its very rare BUT out of say 5 times I got the speed on power back upgrades this madden, ALL of them have been +2 ...

No it is possible if you choose things properly. The regional scouts max out after the national scout is done which is in week 7
How can you update your 1 2 3 wrs in depth chart instead of adjust lineup screen. When I try it just brings me to the player
Go to depth chart under roster management. I have a depth chart video that explains all of that as well

It seems like it’s either OP or they miss too much. You could try dropping accuracy for kicking down to 15 or 20 to see if that gives you more variety
@@CBGamingYT7 yea I just dropped it down to 15… I’ll let you know the results. Kickers are supposed to be inconsistent even elite kickers miss at times.
And I feel like their age could be taken into account when getting upgrades idk. How did you even got 40 upgrades. Simmed like 20 years lol.

changed my madden life
Is there a link to the spreadsheet?
Just added it to the pinned comment!
Did all player per position had the same rating for each archtype?
no. I had old and young players, high overall and low overall players, matching scheme and mismatched scheme players for every upgrade I did.
Relevant for m25?
Honestly I think they changed some things and I realized it today when recording the Panthers episode. I am going to be re-doing this video as soon as I can to see how it compares.
@CBGamingYT7 Appreciate the response and content
Relevant for madden 25?
@@kashdenjay11 I have not noticed much change to the upgrades so I would say yes for now. If I notice anything different I’ll revisit this
Thanks for the speedy reply I leaved a sub

Madden took away the ability to create your player how you want and introduce gambling to get you use to the dice rolls in MUT
That break really stole all your views 🥲
