one of the most informative videos ive seen, i like that you take your time with it and its about 90 mins rather than trying to cramp it into a 20 minute video.
This was the best explanation of drafting position switches for 3-4 4-3. Ive always made my national scout the 3 stars. This video is what our community need more. Many times madden fan base dont like to admit what they dont know for sure. I will now make sure i follow this for scouts. Thank you for this outstanding video. ❤
Great guide. It was really informative, and i learned some new things. Scouting DE and OLBs was such a nightmare for me in 23. I just let the computer draft, and I'd trade for them. I almost always draft for scheme fit now. I noticed i was spending way too many points trying to upgrade certain positions, looking at you OL. Protip - between picks 90 and about 100 are loaded with hidden dev guys. Found so many OL in this range in Madden 23.
Maybe the best video game tutorial/guide I've ever seen on UA-cam thank you so much! New to the game and didn't understand much and this answered basically everything regarding scouting and drafting. Kept watching the video as I progressed through my season and it helped a ton. Definitely earned a sub and a like, fantastic work
This was a fabulous video. Coming back to Madden after several years away, trying to wrap my head around the new scouting has been the biggest hurdle. Really appreciate the detail here. I've been using your sliders for my GM Franchise and I'm really enjoying it. Can't wait to use this new scouting understanding.
Great video, thank you. I didn't know about boosts and secondary position bonus (or lack thereof) for national scouts. FYI, Madded used to differentiate between 3-4/4-3 DEs, years ago. They'll re-add it in 10 years as a "new feature". I'd say about 20% of my time playing franchis is going through every team making sure the ones running 3-4 arent' runing 240 DE's. It's really a simple fix, any half decent SysAd could come up with a script to fix it.
Dude. Can I just say, you are a legend! in South Africa, football isn’t well known, and somehow I got super into it a few years back, but your madden videos have taught me so much! now when I watch nfl, it’s way more enjoyable when u start understanding the intricacies and details. My wife laughs at me coz now I’m more invested in your madden tampa team than my local soccer team that I’ve supported my whole life 😂 Also, just wanted to know if u would ever do a video showing what kind of plays are good vs man coverage and what’s good against zone coverage ? Or if u know of any resources? Anyway. Keep up the good work! Hope to see your channel blow up so u can do it full time!
thank you! I'm glad you are understanding the game better and enjoying the content. While I know a lot about this game I am not the best when it comes to madden user play because I just don't enjoy playing the game that way. There are quite a few channels that have it broken down to a science that I'm sure could help you a lot in that department. One thing you could do is go into practice mode and set the defense to different plays like Cover 2, Cover 3, etc. and run different type of route combos/plays against it until you find what is best for you.
Kurt Benkert on UA-cam is the best at explaining the Xs & Os, imo. Former NFL Qb. Completely changed how i play - for the better. For Zone DEF, it's good to remember to be patient. Run a lot of flat routes, dont be afraid to check it down for a 3yrd/4yrd gain. Send some fly routes up the seam in your Slot WR or TE position. Can also "stack" 1 side, which means, lining up 3Wrs AND 1 RB - all on the same side, to "flood" the zone. KC & Steelers playbook have good formations outta Shotgun for this. Theres 11 players on the field, they can only occupy so much space on the field. Dont try to see eveything - try to just see what you need & develop a "progression" to go through on each play. (I,e. "A -> RB - Y - B") Making pre snap adjustments is also huge, double teaming who you need to, calling out the Mike linebacker, so that you have time to do the above. Good luck man! Madden is an RPG, imo, stick with it and itll make more sense! ✊
Definitely picked up some good info on how the scouts work, thank you for that. Before your vids, I drafted based of of grades, physical, need, scheme, and I’ve done pretty well but now I think imma be unstoppable in the next draft, 3 1st 2 2nds 3 3rds with an 89 ovr. I never draft any F Grades unless everything else is great, but now I’ll just switch positions where they fit better if need be. Keep the vids coming man, good stuff
New subscriber here, thank you for this video as I am about to pick up Madden 24 for the first time. More power and keep up the awesome content. I just have two questions: What attributes do you look for when drafting slot corners? And does the game recognize the "moneybacker" hybrid position (i.e. Isaiah Simmons)?
Slot CB I’m looking for speed, COD, balanced in man and zone and play rec. as for the players like Isaiah Simmons they do include SS in the sub LB position so you can play him there in nickel/dime packages
Content packed. But I’m one of those who will have to watch 4 times to understand . Just got into madden and football in general . It’s not a thing in Europe , so trying to figure it out and this one helps a lot mate
Tbh I along with a lot of other creators I think forget that people are not read up on things we all have done for years. I started getting a few questions about basic things and realized that this wasn’t something out on UA-cam from what I found. That made me decide to do a whole series surrounded by basic functions of the game.
Particularly with the national scout. I had always made that my 3 star scout and thought it did both positions. Thats what I was told by a friend and just never looked into it myself. And I was always wondering why I never had any players at 100% other than the couple I focused on
I believe you said that you can only get one position to 100%; through a little bit of testing i found you can get 2. So in one of my franchises i found that the SE region was insanely talented, and placed a 3 star scout there w/ S and OLB expertise. I then made my National scout a S main. I made it to week three and made the focus scout for SE OLB, making all OLB in that region 100%. Week 8 all i do is set the national scout to S, and all the S in the SE are 100%. This may only be super useful in a few cases, but i thought it was cool i was able to work it out, and scout a lot of talent that was a necessity to my team
Yeah there is ways to get more than one position by doubling up like that and it really can come in handy at times! Just have to hope for a draft spread that makes it work for your scouts
Ive done this on accident by not signing a FB and it opened the pass game up tremendously when you have a pass catching TE. Run blocking suffers a bit though
Man I agree on all these points especially 3 and 4. I go the same route when I dont need a QB in my first draft of a rebuild Trenches are important and sometimes have gems in later rounds. On the first point though I agree, it becomes hell when it comes to payday and salary cap 😂 and dont let a few or more of them be from the same or consecutive draft class
Just did my first draft... Trade up Russel Wilson and a few picks to get my QB And my three 3rd round picks became a starter CB..a 1st round LB that's supposed to be injury prone but have a 86 injury only.. Both great steals!!! Thanks a lot!
Yeah...but his physical were to good to pass... And just to give some perspective...I'm watching you from Brazil..and I'm replay enjoying your content... Cheers!
When I do my scouting I usually have the highest rated scouts working on trenches on both sides and skill positions. In the draft its best to always take a QB, Tackle(Offense) and DT. You can always find some gems in the trenches later in the draft
I really appreciate your videos they have helped me 10 fold with understanding how things work off the field. Is there anyway you can do a madden 25 video of "during the draft".? Showing how you trade up or how to obtain the players you really want to pick up. I'm on madden 25 and this is my first time playing franchise. Please and thanks again 🙏
Hi! Thank you for the great video! I have a question. Assume that you set both national and regional focuses on the same role (e.g., QB), does QB in that specific region receive +35% (15 from region and 20 from national)?
Great video. I’ve played Madden since the first one. Took a hiatus for about 5 years and am trying this one out. Video was excellent help to get acquainted with this new to me system. One question, have you notice any value in the rank change rating (the green or red arrows)? Started a season at the Super Bowl so don’t have really any scouting done on this first class. Couple of guys have absurd like +120 rank change arrows. Usually things like this are either fool’s gold or a hint.
Usually if they have an up or down arrow I will check to see if a story was about them but in your case you probably won't see most of the stories. I would pay attention more to the ones that take a large jump but are projected in the top 3 rounds. The ones at the end of the draft seem to just be random at times where they were the 40th best WR and now they are the 33rd. it looks like a massive jump but they are still projected as undraftable.
I have a related issue. So it’s been 15 years since I owned a console. I played back in 08 and earlier. I have a pS5. I got back into it this year. I have M24 with the custom shared draft class of 24 added in. And played a franchise season with the updated trades and rookies. I use the auto generated as I was learning the new play. But built my own class of 25/26 of prospects and just finished. I’m currently in post season of the first year of franchise. Heading to the draft which I currently have the rookies (draft class 24). I’m nervous with all the work I did to lose it. Want to know should I export prior to draft I’m coming up to? Keep the file and make adjustments as the real draft is 5 months away. The goal was to add on to the existing file used with updated rosters I used. Any help would be awesome on this. Like your breakdowns on game play and different aspects effectiveness.
Very informative, definetely learned a few things i was unaware of about the schemes. Any chance you can explain in a comment or make a video explaining the depth chart, or more specifically how it determines who plays special teams and what the rush de's, rush dt's and slot corner/dime players do? I do know that the backup slot player on the depth is who your dime corner will be but im not too familiar with all the rde, rdt and sub lb positions. Would be a huge help if you could explain when these positions see the field and what they do
I have this as one of my upcoming basic tip videos. But I do believe that in my Madden 23 Tips playlist their may be a few videos that go over that stuff and it all relates to Madden 24 with no changes!
Good video I really had little understanding about schemes and who goes wear I looked at the overall skill of a player and would think he is better than the other players who is lower overall especially on defence I understand what you’re saying 💯 just didn’t realize this before
Thanks for this video. A lot of very good information for a football newbie like me. I would like to ask about the secondary unit and what are the physical requirements for CB/FS/SS? You hear people say, they will draft a CB and move them to Safety or draft a Safety and move them to CB. Also in terms of Safties and their skillset, is it right to say that the FS should have better coverage skills/ability (and be faster) and the SS should have better tackling/hit power/stronger skills/ability?
Your thoughts on the S differences is spot on. That also leads to the CB question too. If a CB is terrible at man but has good zone, tackle, play rec then they could transition to safety and succeed
@@CBGamingYT7 It’s either entirely or partially but most definitely because I decided to franchise tag Justin Jefferson a 2nd time. Lesson learned… a bit
@@CBGamingYT7 I was able to work out 43mil in cap space but I have to sign guys like Marlon H, Kyle Hamilton, and Madabuike and more. Have any tips on how to sign?
During private work out, you cannot change any screen between selecting the players to scout, if you do you wont get any progress on them, so if you change any screen, you have to back out to franchise menu, and go back and do it. best way is to favourite the players you want to scout, and then select them from there, under the "all" menu, do not change the position, it will still ruin it then.
There isn’t a particular attribute that will ensure they will be a hidden dev but deep route and release will be close to As if they are a possible sleeper for deep threat
Do you have any videos covering 5th year options/Franchise tags, and when it's beneficial to use them or when not to use them? And any suggestions for salary cap management? Thanks
I think it matters more on defense than it does offense, but OLine scheme play is important too. I say defense more because of coverage and trenches play. Having a bunch of zone corners in a man scheme can cause for a weak secondary. Having non coverage linebackers in a 4-3 will cause for the middle of the field and intermediate plays to kill your defense.
It depends on how you play. If you are actually playing the game then what JQUE94 is what I would say. If you watch the games then it is more important for some positions on offense like QB and HB
If i have a smaller LE who i want to use as LOLB in my 3-4 defense do i need to edit their position? Is there any negative to just putting a LE at LOLB in my lineup regularly?
you can do either option. I prefer to have my positions labeled the way I use them in depth chart for scheme purposes. Just easier for me to make sense of what I have in offseason so I don't forget something and sign someone else that I do not need.
question number 2. To get 100% I just need to place a Tier3 scout on a region. The primary role will receive 100% even if I don't set the regional focus on the primary role, right? If so, I may set the regional focus to the second role and get a 90% on the secondo role (in Madden 25 I will be able to discover the talent of both primary and secondary roles of the specific region). Am I wrong?
I thought for the longest time that this mattered, it does not. The only thing that matters is if the scout is an expert in the position and their tier ranking.
@@CBGamingYT7 that’s exactly what it was. I thought the owner gave you the full features. Started a new one with a coach and everything started back up
Yes there are players that can be changed to different positions and succeed from these drafts. When you are looking for a WR that can play HB you are going to want to look for a player that is probably 5'9-6'0 that is better at being a playmaker than a WR. So their carry is an A, BC vision, juke, spin, break tackle is all highly rated and almost seems better than their pass catching attributes.
Why is scouting even needed if the draft is essentially random? And what are we talking about "boosting" with the scouts? Im so confused. I understand ncaa stuff but pronis so confusing bc u can't sign players like college
Dude seriously scouting and drafting is the best way to build your franchise for years to come if you draft smart . Also you can’t resign all of your free agents especially if you have a franchise quarter back
Good video I kind of wish you went into how you build them out. If you try to get them to scheme fit , if you just keep building what they are good at regardless of scheme fit , or if you try to round them out.
I have a series of videos I will be doing on each topic like schemes and how to upgrade players based on how each archetype pays out attributes. I’ve done a lot of combined videos going over more in one but wanted to get back to basics of each individual process for people to use and not have to look through half a video to find something in there specifically. Hope I explained that correctly lol
Yeah the whole scouting thing is kinda of annoying. I do prefer to just let the cpu draft players and then I trade for them after I see exactly how good they are. I know it’s not legit, like it wouldn’t happen in real life but hey it’s how I want to play 🤷♂️
I feel you on that point and only way to counter that is a balance within FA and Draft. Also I always hit the free agent pool at the least two weeks before preseason due to some solid players being cut and available for the cheap 1 year deals.
Extra tips: 1. Development matters having atleast star at every position has the best feeling of upgrading. 2. Practice is important. Players can earn dev ups here. Giving more potential trade power. 3. Skill positions level up the fastest. In your starting draft, OL and DL are far more important than most skills. 4. I went with line men, draft picks 4~14 of only line has made the seasons much easier as I was not worried about age or other factors. 5. With a solid QB, WRs are almost negligible. Eg) CJ Stroud w/ 75-70ovr WRs 6. Use all positions to lurk and learn the Opponents offense. As even the computer will repeat plays frequently on All-Madden Like this post and I’ll update it as I think of anything or answer any questions asked
unfortunately it is hard to tell if they do or not because unless you watch every pick closely you have no history to look back on (thanks EA). Its either once in awhile someone does or sometimes the CPU goes against the mock and makes it look like it.
This is way too technical and too much to remember i just keep it simple n go straight to where it shows me their overall rating and stats before their drafted it's alot easier that way if you wanna skip all the nonsense..
@@CBGamingYT7 I wanted to take the time to do it the right way and follow all the steps that you broke down in your video but it just ended up being too much to deal with for me personally but i gotta give you a big shout out for making such a detailed informative video im sure it has already helped alot of people with their franchise rebuilds 🤩
The Bucs got the number 1 pick 2 years in a row on my franchise they took Travis hunter number 1 this year now they are looking at Nico from Tennessee to replace baker but it’s crazy they will have two franchise game changers . I’m trying to trade up for a first round because I traded mine for Kenny smith of the packers and it was well worth it I have the best front 4 in nfl and also linebackers I got Bobby okreke from giants for Jalen pitre since contract was coming up but also got two 3rd rounders and my offensive line is just improving every year they are all young except Larry tunsil also might trade tank dell for a first rounder since I have nico and diggs! So many desecions but Cj around is up to 98 overall now from player development and winning mvp my first year
Not sure why everyone hates on madden 25 I have been having non stop fun in franchise . NCAA 25 got stale after a few seasons because scouting and player development sucks its bare bones for sure . But I think madden is at least trying to improve game . If we can replace Kate Scott with Tony romo or have different networks for each game and player highlights at halftime would make game even better
I have 700+ hours on this madden in franchise, and you still taught me a lot about scouting. Thank you for the time you put into this! Very helpful!

Thank you ! New follower here. ❤
Think I need a vid like this and I haven’t even watched it yet. I’m -56 mil in the cap
thats going to be a tough hole to get out of. I will be doing another salary cap video in a few weeks or so!
Great video
What do you play on
During private work out, you cannot change any screen between selecting the players to scout, if you do you wont get any progress on them, so if you change any screen, you have to back out to franchise menu, and go back and do it.
best way is to favourite the players you want to scout, and then select them from there, under the "all" menu, do not change the position, it will still ruin it then.
Yeah this is something that was apparently fixed last Madden but I guess that was not true lol
Is speed the most important trait for DTs?
No I wouldn’t say it’s very important. Accel and COD I think are more important for them
@@CBGamingYT7 Thanks!
@CBGamingYT7 Trying to trade for some good ones in my franchise league but hell they're all wanting $30-$40 mil a year. Lol
@@CBGamingYT7 What about strength would you put that 3rd most important?
What do deep threats need to be good at to uncover likely dev traits
There isn’t a particular attribute that will ensure they will be a hidden dev but deep route and release will be close to As if they are a possible sleeper for deep threat
You didn’t tell what button to click for 43:29…
Do you have any videos covering 5th year options/Franchise tags, and when it's beneficial to use them or when not to use them? And any suggestions for salary cap management? Thanks
Not lately but it’s in my video list for the near future
I’d be interested in this as well. Idk the difference between franchise tag and 5th year and what players you can use it on
What's the best way to get gold in all of the preseason drills? Any substitutions that I need to make it easier?
I think I’m going to do a video going through them and the tricks I use to get gold in them all
What playbooks/schemes are best for week to week sim?
That’s something I’m still trying to figure out myself. It seems like the Bengals, Chiefs and Patriots work rather well together
how do u mack a draf
I cant do the speed spin and hurdle in franchise training for running backs
Are you talking about training camp and weekly mini games? I always do rushing attack
If a fullback is drafted I look for them to more on the athletic side with the Utility trait(I think thats what som have).
So does scheme fit matter or is that just for xp?
Am I wrong?
At assigning scouts . Do they receive boost to scouting if they are scouting position mention as “strength “or it doesn’t matter?
I thought for the longest time that this mattered, it does not. The only thing that matters is if the scout is an expert in the position and their tier ranking.
Why do I never get the dynamic situations? I’ll get an occasional development upgrade scenario but that’s really it. No rain games, trap games, etc.
Are you playing as the coach or as an owner?
@@CBGamingYT7 that’s exactly what it was. I thought the owner gave you the full features. Started a new one with a coach and everything started back up

hey man i hope you have a good day
Thank you. Same to you!
Is there a way to find RBs that can play WR? And vice versa?
Yes there are players that can be changed to different positions and succeed from these drafts. When you are looking for a WR that can play HB you are going to want to look for a player that is probably 5'9-6'0 that is better at being a playmaker than a WR. So their carry is an A, BC vision, juke, spin, break tackle is all highly rated and almost seems better than their pass catching attributes.
This video is still god mode
@@pablomcg I just uploaded an updated one for Madden 25 if you are on the new game
@@CBGamingYT7Oh snap, thank you, I just was going to use this one again
@@CBGamingYT7has scouting percentages changed?
@@pablomcg yes it did a little bit. Some percentages changed now making it better for the user
I agree, would love to see a break down of how to develop. Glad to see the respond from CB
All u have to do is draft every position u want except for the QB a wr and and defense player and trade your draft picks for sum.
I traded two 1st round picks, a couple second round picks, and a lower player for Mahomes, kittle, and Stephen diggs
Great vid as always and off topic but your freaking badgers are 3-0 in our college series 😂…PS come coach a pro squad !
The Badgers always prevail!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Drafting is useless in this game. Never scout anything because this is a stupid system and needs to be completely redone
I agree the system needs to be reworked or heavily expanded on but unfortunately this is the system we have to work with!
@@JQUE94you are wise sir
@@westsideAUKILANI Im telling you its the best way to fill your roster out if you have cap space left before season start.
Your voice sounds a lot like Phlydaily🧐
Not aware of them so either thank you or I’m sorry? 🤣

You play Offline but on PC correct? LOL, I thought you played online all this time.
No I play on my PS5!
Extra tips:
Eg) CJ Stroud w/ 75-70ovr WRs
6. Use all positions to lurk and learn the Opponents offense. As even the computer will repeat plays frequently on All-Madden
Like this post and I’ll update it as I think of anything or answer any questions asked
This video, man I been doing crap so wrong
Hope this helps you!
Prospect spotlight doesn’t mean Jack !
I could be wrong, but I have yet in 5 drafts ever see the cpu trade up or down during the draft. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
unfortunately it is hard to tell if they do or not because unless you watch every pick closely you have no history to look back on (thanks EA). Its either once in awhile someone does or sometimes the CPU goes against the mock and makes it look like it.
First !
This is way too technical and too much to remember i just keep it simple n go straight to where it shows me their overall rating and stats before their drafted it's alot easier that way if you wanna skip all the nonsense..
Glad you found a way that works for you. Some people don’t want all the answers given to them like that
@@CBGamingYT7 I wanted to take the time to do it the right way and follow all the steps that you broke down in your video but it just ended up being too much to deal with for me personally but i gotta give you a big shout out for making such a detailed informative video im sure it has already helped alot of people with their franchise rebuilds 🤩
Auto generated sucks go with real players so you know more about players
