Do you know if an update is coming for defense? I slow sim like you and I have two CBs (one is 94 overall and the other is 88 overall) that don’t line up correctly no matter what I do to the depth chart or formation subs. CB1 lines up across from the WR1 (to the QB’s left) when he should be on the QB’s right. Switching the depth chart and formation subs makes no difference at all. I use a custom playbook but even if I take it off it changes nothing. Any suggestions?
I have not had this issue at all. my CB1 always lines up on the left side of the formation from madden cam view and my CB2 always lines up on the right side. Is one of them listed as a nickel corner in SLCB? I know the game will auto put a starter their and that can really screw up rotations. I do not touch CBs in formation subs because that really seems to screw things up. Ill take a look to see if I can find anything else out about this.
Been enjoying all the videos!! I’ve been playing Madden 23, but trying to decide on getting MD24 or wait and get MD25? Not seeing any deals on 24 right now and did not want to pay full price with 25 probably coming out shortly. I do normally play a year behind hoping kinks get worked out if any issues. What would you say?
thank you! I feel like the game plays much better this year than it did last but you may not feel the same and I am not sure how often you play the game. If you play it at least every other day I would say it could be worth it to buy but staying a game behind also lets you avoid all the major bugs! lol
Have you done a video where you prioritize the different positions to the pick you have in the draft list? I'll use WR, If your team needs a better WR (assuming you have a good QB), and you'd like to upgrade, do you use the first round pick and take the 'best' WR that comes to you OR do you trade up and take the better WR, ...what would you use your 3rd, 4th, 5th etc picks on are they trade bait or do those picks fill back up roles on your team?...clear as mud?
someone gave me an idea of running through a simmed franchise and giving my thoughts on different scenarios. This could be another part of that video if I do one on it. I can't give a straight answer because it's all so predicated on what the other teams do, what the draft class looks like, what free agency looks like, etc. But I could maybe add a video where I go over different drafts and talk about my thought process during it?
I've watched both the main video and this follow-up video on Managing Salaries (both are great videos btw) and I had a follow-up question: if I want to trade away a player who's on his last year of contract, for example Kirk Cousins as shown in your video at 3:19, is the $19.8MM penalty going to be added to the $196MM total 2023 spending? Or is that already accounted for in the 2023 salaries total of $169MM, in other words I would incur no additional penalty? I would think so because if I keep Cousins instead of trading him I would end up paying the total of $20.3MM anyway, as shown for 2023. But I want to be sure I understand it correctly. I know I won't have to pay penalties in future year, but what about the current year?
Yes the contract would essentially still be paid for the current year and if there is any money to save from the salary portion you will see a slight bump in cap. You will see it get added to your current cap penalty as well
This is my basic budget... With a 285 million cap... I allot 10 million for my starters (22 x 10= 220 million) and 2 million for my backups (31 x 2= 62 million)... that comes out to 282 million. Breaking it down further... QB= 14 million budget RB= 14 million FB= 2 million WR= 28 million TE= 14 million OL= 60 million Defensive Line= 48 million LB= 38 million CB= 28 million S=24 Million Kicker= 1 million Punter=1 million This adds up to 132 million for offense, 138 million for defense, and 2 million for special teams... this leaves me 14 million to spend as I please. So the most I would spend on a QB to fit my budget is 25 million.... but I run a run first offense, so I don't need a top QB. $10 million a year for a player is my breaking point. He has to be a difference maker for me, to sign a player over $10 million a year.
Ya I'm playing a online league n we are playing owner league n I'm negative in spending funds gotta figure our my team cus all of my players are retiring every season
Thank you for this I knew the basics of the whole contacts and resigning but I always ended up making small mistakes then ended up being a big mistake 3-4 seasons later and have to let go a couple of key players on my team
While it may be cheating, what I do to get around the guaranteed/bonus money is go into the edit player screen and put their signing bonus all the way to 0, and put it all under total salary. This completely wiped away the penalty, but it also means the CPU takes a bigger hit to their salary if you decide to trade that player, making it a little harder to trade them
Question, taking M.garret as an example, he has 81 in signing bonus, each of the 4 years left that he has, is this signing bonus already reflected? Second if I cut him, I will get 20 in penalty and the second year the rest non? 60
the signing bonus is reflected in the yearly pay. so its the breakdown of his salary + an even break down of his bonus which in this case would be 20 million per season. So yes if you cut him you would still have to pay him the 60 million signing bonus which would break down to 20 million in current year and the remainder the following year.
It helps in resigning players for less, if their motivation is for scheme fit. That's the big advantage for scheme fit. It's also a way to filter through players to draft and free agency.... but it's not an end all.
@@ryanrowe6358 what about for actual play on the field. like if there is a player that isnt part of my scheme fit, will he be penalized or not play as good as if he was a scheme fit? or does it not matter and just go strictly off of ratings
its a little of both and dependent on the play call. every archetype has its own overall so if you have a player that is an 85 ovr but you are playing them in a scheme that has their archetype at a 75ovr for that particular scheme or situation it could cause them to fall back on the lower ratings they have instead of the non scheme fit that they have an 85 ovr in. If you wait until the offseason resign stage it will change your cap space to that season and you will be able to cut players or clear your cap penalty for that year. It will only give you one chance at signing them unfortunately but it’s one of the only ways to fix the numbers for next cap year.
