I’m sitting here watching this in stunned silence. I’ve worked out a few different ways to dismantle a pallet, but this guy puts my methods in the shitter. Very nice work sir, and thanks for sharing. You should get an award!
I know your comment was 7 months ago but you expressed EXACTLY my sentiments. I have a bunch of pallets to dsassemble and I've looked into different ways to do it with the least damage to the boards AND the best way to ensure all the nails are removed (for planing / cutting). I even welded up a tool to help but it frequently damages the boards. I knew there had to be a better way and.......THIS IS IT! This guys is a genious. It is really true that the best solutions to most problems are usually just simple and elegant.
Yep.... with an almost new pallet that was kept dry in it's short life. A used one that has rusty nails, will split the wood with every " easy " use of that hammer. The even more easy way is to get the wood before they make a pallet of it. ( I convert a mobilehome living unit with a wooden extension on a semi trailer, the thing partly integreted in the " pallet " wood. I cut the nails between the planks with a jigsaw where I have put a selfmade saw in from a half ironsaw blade , flexible enough to cut even the nails in the middle part. Then , I hit the leftover from the nails out of the planks with a small diameter tool) Palletwood has to tell a story, not the one only when it was a tree .....
This guy silently steps into the frame, dismantles the pallet with military precision, and walks off camera. Not a word. This was ridiculously entertaining lol.
This is perfection! No dragging of feet. No annoying commentary. Down straight to the point. Perfect angles and perspective. Well done. No speed altering needed! I have watched several other videos on this, and this is BY FAR the BEST
I didn't have a prybar thatt was any good at pallets when I started, and using a plank barely worked so that encouraged me to try other ways. Thanks for watching!
I just watched about 5 “simple method” videos on how to disassemble pallets and this is by far the best for anyone without power tools. May God continue to bless you with methodical and intelligent ways to simplify life. Thank you kindly!!! I can do this 😊.
Best for anyone with power tools too. I have used power tools in the past to take apart pallets. This is easier and doesn't mar them any further. I'll never use a power tool on a pallet again

This somewhat worked for us. We had one person stand on the pallet. Also the wood splintered more often than not. But the pallet in this video looks pretty new. Ours were old and had sometimes 6-8 nails on one end.
This was a light duty pallet. But even if the nail heads rip out of the board. At least the board won't crack halfway down. And I'll have easier access to the nails than if I use the recip saw! I'll definitely try it!
Wow, love the vid! Jumped up immediately with anxious anticipation to jump on my 16 pallets, and after 20 mins I’m back to give you the news!! Not all pallets are made equal!! Some seem to have been NASA engineered to resist pounding and reverse engineering through some sort of self destruct mechanism and specialized fastening capabilities which causes 2*4 to split in the pounding process🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ anyways some seem to of the easy dismantle kind...
I didn't dislike, but I would imagine it's people (like me) who tried this only to discover that it only works on certain pallets....not all styles of pallet leave room for you to insert these pieces of wood and in order to create that kind of space, you have to remove boards - the hard way
Outstanding! Was craving for a low tech no power tools method. I am impressed by the effectiveness and precision. Kudos. Found this video to have great value. Thank you for posting.

Cheers
This one is the best in dismantling pallet! I almost buy a pallet remover. Thanks man! You're a genius
I think we have a winner. I was about to purchase a 30€ pallet buster ... Thank you for saving my money, Sir.
Very nice piece of demonstrations without any (unnecessary ) longwinded talking, and distracting hand gesturing. Fabulous.
Cheers!
Straight out of the "Why didn't I think of that" file! Brilliant. Drop the mic bro.
Yeah you need to get creative with some of them :)
I never thought I would scream of joyous awe seeing someone dismantling a pallet. Thank you! You, sir, have made my life much easier and affordable :D
Lol thanks!
great video. Intelligent solution to breaking a pallet.
My kinda video! Straight to the point!! And no need for power tools! Thank you!! 🙌
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I just spent an hour trying to dismantle one trying to save the wood and I see this!!!!!!! SIMPLY AMAZING!!!
Thanks, hope it works first you!
How could you dislike this video it’s pure genius
That's UA-cam I guess. Thanks for watching and not disliking!
@@lapislignum Excellent, clean, precise, efficient, tidy!
@The Bob Smith thanks! They don't always go this smoothly :)
I didn't dislike, but I would imagine it's people (like me) who tried this only to discover that it only works on certain pallets....not all styles of pallet leave room for you to insert these pieces of wood and in order to create that kind of space, you have to remove boards - the hard way
Finally. Well done. Ive searched and searched and this is how Ill do it
Outstanding! Was craving for a low tech no power tools method. I am impressed by the effectiveness and precision. Kudos. Found this video to have great value. Thank you for posting.
Cheers, thanks for taking the time to comment!
I have just watched loads of videos of dismantling pallets and then stumbled upon this one and this is the way to do it, perfect.
His ancestors invented the wheel
Lol
I second that.
But, I thunk my ancestors invented the square one.
best video on the internet about dismantling a pallet, hands down!
Well, S.O.B., ain't you the smart cookie? That demonstration was brilliant!!!
Guessing he got an “A+” in physics. Well thought out from start to finish.
I was going to stop watching when there was no talking, but I'm so glad I kept watching. Absolute genius !!
Thanks for sticking with it, I know not everyone likes no talking videos.
This looks so easy! I can't wait to start making my paper wood furniture... I'm excited! Thank you for sharing
Awesome. I have 20 pallets to dismantle, this will help, pretty ingenious really.
You destroyed bro... I normally don't like to see all work being done but you made not just to look easy, you made easy... perfect 👌
I know I commented on this years ago...& it has come to THAT time again, I don’t have a crowbar & dreaded dismantling ...UNTIL I RE-SAW THIS AGAIN!! thank you dude, forever my hero of the pallet world. Xx
Haha I find myself doing that sometimes, welcome back!
Just the fact he didn’t pick up the pullers once mind blown 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Amazing! To think of how long it’s taken me in the past...Grrrrrr!! 😡😡
You sir are a genius!! The amount of videos telling me I need a saw and power tools!
Cheers! I use powertools on some pallets but for most I think this method works better.
... and tidies up after as well - brilliant!
