  • Floral Bath Salts! 5 DIFFERENT RECIPES! Scented, moisturizing, bubbling, fizzing, & foaming! All of the bath salt recipes are super easy, simple, quick, & are basically the same with 1-2 additional ingredients for each specific reaction. All of the salts smelled amazing & created a wonderful salt soak. I highly recommend using a base for scenting salts to keep them clump-free. ***OR if you add soda acid (baking soda & citric acid) to make them foam, add the wet to the baking soda, let it dry overnight, then add it to the salts. I’m using Natrasorb for more information, click this video: • The Ultimate Guide To ... Natrasorb bath is a variety of tapioca starch that has unique 'pockets' that can carry oils in powder form. This will keep your bath salts dry, clump-free, & heavily scented! ALSO, depending on how much color is used, add polysorbate 80 {light colors = 1 milliliter * medium= 1.5 milliliters * dark= 2 milliliters} Add the scented base to a ½ cup of Epsom salt. Then rub them between your hands to evenly coat the salt. ***Squeeze salt between hands. If it clumps, add 1-2 tablespoons salt, mixing after each addition. Repeat until clump-free.
    SCENTED: ½ cup Epsom salts, 3 grams natrasorb, 3 grams fragrance, & 1 milliliter polysorbate 80. BUBBLING: ½ cup Epsom salts, 3 grams natrasorb, 3 grams fragrance, 1.5 milliliters polysorbate 80, & 1 tablespoon sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSa). Mix SLSa in salts then add mica (makes SLSa blend in better.) ***If you add more than this, salts will look & feel more like powder (rather than salt).
    MOISTURIZING: ½ cup Epsom salts, 3 grams natrasorb, 3 grams fragrance, 1 milliliter polysorbate 80, & 3 grams oil/melted butter (I used vitamin E oil). *** I had to add an additional ¼ cup Epsom salt.
    The last 2 recipes require “soda-acid”. Sieve together ¼ cup baking soda & ¼ cup citric acid, then mix.
    FIZZING: ½ cup Epsom salts, 3 grams natrasorb, 3 grams fragrance, 1 milliliter polysorbate 80. Prepare salts then add ¼ cup “soda-acid” & mix.
    FOAMING: ½ cup Epsom salts, 3 grams natrasorb, 3 grams fragrance, & 2 milliliters polysorbate 80. Add ¼ cup “soda-acid” to a bowl & add 5 milliliters ammonium lauryl sulfate (coco betaine will work, just not as good). Mix well (it will puff up) & cure until completely dry (I just left mine out overnight). Once dry, sieve powder into salts. Mix them up, then add color.
    PACKAGING: Pour salt in & wiggle jar to fit the rest. Don’t pack it; let the salts remain free-flowing. Garnish the top with more flowers. Choose a color that compliments the salt or the accent color (normally the exact opposite color of the salt).

    Thank you so much for these recipes! I've just found them again and am so excited! I found it a bit confusing though, because the ingredients are not standardized. I think it would be helpful for us beginners, to either list the ingredients measurements, in either metric or standard, measurements etc. But thank you again for these, I really appreciate it so much!

    I think my fav color/flower combo was the foaming salt blue/yellow. You always get a lot of bubbles with your recipes and that’s what I like about them. I did use dyes w mine instead of micas so the water is colored more n makes it kinda cool to look at :)

    Hi there can you use corn starch instead of tapioca as an alternative to natrasorb? Can't wait to try this.

    I am confused as to what the polysorbate 80has todo with the color...or is it being used to emulsify?

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 роки тому +1

      In this situation it must be added for mica colorant, especially for bold or darker colors. I learned the hard way. If you don’t have poly, the mica will end up stuck to the sides of the tub

    Hi Dora, How are you? I am just making the scented salts & I am using salts that are already scented & adding Icing Colors- water based colour. I find this colour set give me more vibrant colour than using mica.
    Do you think that I still need to add polysorbate 80 to the recipe? I am not sure if I just add the polysorbate 80 only when I am using mica?

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 роки тому +1

      Poly is also to emulsify the oils (fragrance oil) so they blend with water & don’t sit on top the water. However you’ll probably be ok tho because like you said, I mainly use the poly to emulsify the micas (so that big ugly color ring isn’t left around the tub).

    How do you preserve the fragrance? How long can you have it before the scent wears off

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 роки тому +1

      Great question. The fragrance is held in little natrasorb "pockets" & will remain there until placed in water. The scent doesn't wear off as long as its in a sealed container. I've had salts that have remained fragrant for a few years now so I don't think its anything you have to worry about.

    Hello Dora! I'm new to your channel and I just love it!! Im learning so much!❤ I have a couple of questions...for the scented bath, you don't mention adding slsa in the demonstration, but it does say to add it in the description. Should slsa be added to the scented bath salts? Also, you mention that soda acid should be 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup citric acid...for the fizzing bath salts,the description says to add 1/4 cup soda acid. Does this mean to mix the 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup citric acid and THEN ADD 1/4 cup of that mixture? Also, the description says if you add soda acid, to add the wet to the baking soda and let it dry overnight,then add to salts. Does this mean to only add to the baking soda, or to both the baking soda and citric acid mix? And what brand of liquid coloring do you use? And are you using Marblers mica? Thank you so much!!

      Tenia la misma duda, pero creo que es porque le llama ACIDO-SODA a la mezcla de acído cítrico y bicarbonato... que van por partes iguales, pero no se realmente si sea así

      It sounds like too much wet. Try mixing baking soda & citric acid then adding wet to it. Wait until it’s completely dry before adding so salts
