He won the UEFA cup while playing for the Spurs in 1984.
Not quite the same as six league titles, is it?
@@TomBartram-b1c hyperbolic irrelevance re the Greatest English player ever.
Now that is a disgrace.

A warm down UK was so behind the times We were still playing Two Three Four
long after Brazill and other countrys were playing every known format to Man These days most sports have a Warm Down Back In The Fifties I was a V G Time Trialist we always warmed down after the race Ten miles on a large sprocket

I'm a LFC fan
.. and loved Glen
.. but he scored a great 35 yrd strike .. as good as any I've seen.. LFC won 3-1..
Spurs ultra hero . Could pass the ball on a sixpence ,awesome too watch remember it well .
Glenn Hoddle grew up in wrong era in the wrong country.!!! He wasn't suited to our football......he never got a kick against Liverpool, Souness & co. kept him quiet every time they played. If he'd been around now he'd be priceless....unbelievably talented footballer.
He scored a few great goals against Liverpool none better than his screamer at Anfield
He would have certainly benefited under the FIFA pussy rules of today. When Maradona scored his legitimate goal against England in 1986 ,Peter Reid was asked why didn't you just take him out? He said I tried but I just bounced off him. Who was his partner in central midfield in that World Cup? Mr Hoddle ... England just scraped through the group stage.
@@briannaghten2201 and cam
e close to scoring 3 times against argentina.
go specsavers.
Always enjoyed watching England when he was manager.....we would of done well under him. Such a shame!!!!
As a school boy I played against Glenn everybody was talking about how great he was I said don’t worry I’ll stop him we lost 5-0 lesson learned
Fantastic item.
Great player
Shame about all his goals having commentary by Martin Tyler added even though he never actually commentated on the games. Don’t rewrite history
Dennis Bergkamp admired Glenn Hoddle. Nuff said!
Dad took me to see Swindon when Glenn was player/manager just so he could say his son had seen the best player he'd ever seen.
Traditionally England don't like mavericks, in any sport unfortunately
I love HIM
Diamond lights
Hoddle Robson in the middle was the perfect combination for England, or should have been.
Why was that not the case?..The '82' team can you imagine if Hoddle had been played behind a fit Brooking/Keegan?
@@kailashpatel1706 He wasn't a player to play behind anyone. He was unfortunate to follow Brooking Robson and Wilkins.
@@briannaghten2201 I believe the 1982 squad is hugely underestimated..
@@briannaghten2201 more skill than all three together ,wilkins absolute non-entity.
Brooking erratic,Robson great work rate.
Born and bread a yido lived near ground my school was 20 yard's from spurs ground first game was 1977 .as I kid I used to kick the ball against the Tottenham ground thinking I was hoddle .hoddle hoddle born is the king of White heart lane.old tottenham song
I loved football, thanks to those who know it is a privilege to play, as it is to be forgiven by God freely, by His grace!
Shld have had 150 caps... but crap eng managers cldnt pick someone they saw as a luxury. If he'd been Brazilian he'd have been a legend. Imagine if Clough had managed him as eng manager. Bliss.
I had stand up arguments over the years whenever I’ve said Hoddle was world class, and after having just watched Arsene Wenger call him world class I feel validated. Anyone who says he wasn’t world class clearly knows nothing about football.
Gascoigne and Hoddle, the best England players ever!!! Hoddle's only criminal decision as England manager was the sacking of Gaza in 1998... Greetings from Greece.
Gazza was an overweight unfit mess at that time living off past glories, playing in a Mickey mouse league and only scoring 3 goals all season, so of course he shouldn't have been picked.
correct decision.
yeah gazza was past his best by 1996 dont forget we had scholes another class player
past his best after the 91 cup final really but still useful of course
The only thing he lacked was that burst of speed that many great players have. But technically he was the best England player of his generation by a mile.
He had plenty of burst pace. You seen how many times he left the 1st man for dead??
