This is the only game where I had to set down the controller and not touch my PS3 for a week straight when I saw it. PTSD is a real thing with these games. I’ve never stopped watching a horror movie or stopped playing a horror game EXCEPT for this one. Definitely on my top 10 games of all time (along with the first one). If only they kept the steam going when making DS3.
One thing I liked about this sequence is how they're trying to "clean up" the Ishimura in more ways than one. Not only are they trying to fix and clear the ship of all the blood, growth, and alien infection, but they also publicly released a statement claiming it was a terrorist attack to try to cover up the disaster.
What makes this part genius, is that the whole time you aboard the ship there were no necromorphs until Ellie told they were coming. You’re own paranoia put you on the edge, when there was no danger at all.
This was definitely one of the biggest highlights of Dead Space 2, in the first game you're on this dead ship the whole time trying to survive and get the hell off it, and once you do you think it's over and you've seen the last of the Ishimura. Only to get a complete curve ball thrown at you with this game when you find that not only is the ship still back and in tact, you're forced to go back on it and relive your worst nightmares, what a great twist. It makes me so happy that the remake of the first game was able to recapture the terror, isolation, and paranoia the original had.
@@yvn_youngdexter2741 Yep for sure, my favorite part is that Isaac actually talks in this game and is showing off his knowledge and skills as an engineer since he gives himself most of the objectives.
@@MegamanZXOmega woke space remakes adds nothing to isaacs character, only takes away. In og isaac always looks over his shoulder (which would be extremely realistic in that situation) it simply doesn’t happen in the remake. They also added gender neutral bathrooms but no extra info or backstory behind the crazy scientists or even issac and Nicole. If u take away the better graphics and lighting there’s Zero reason this game should’ve been remade.
@@KevinLopez-pu7ll Clearly you didn't actually play it, cause I did. It DID add to Isaac and Nicole, as it had Isaac actually show off his engineering skills and knowledge, show us Nicole doing stuff during the Necromorph outbreak, and giving us more info on Isaac and Nicole's backstory. And oh BOO HOO, a minor and very hardly noticable detail that no one will ever see cause the hallways are too damn dark makes the game woke when there's nothing in the actual story that makes it woke at all. I hate woke shit, but the Dead Space remake is anything but woke, and it's a very amazing game and much better than the original in every way, now how about you go outside and touch some grass instead of hopping on internet bandwagons.
@@MegamanZXOmega there’s nothing more woke than a gender neutral bathrooms. Also nope, it adds nothing unlike the final fantasy vii remake which was a ACTUAL remake. The fact a game this irrelevant that was made for sadistic losers like you got a remake shockingly proofs how bad the state of gaming is in. The gameplay is extremely repetitive. It might not be a movie like gow ragnarok but it’s still a walking simulator. Many of the characters die extremely stupid deaths like running to a window to ask u for help while the door is literally right next to them and is open then a enemy rips them to shreds. If u support this u are a loser.
After I beat the first game, I never wanted to come back the Ishimura. Hearing the audio logs of the cleaners and the noises, really sent shivers down my spine. But the brute popping up like that almost made me shut the game off.
I would feel more comfortable with just a remaster, higher fps, better textures and all the DLC unlocked because the game as it is not only it's still holds up but it's also a masterpiece in pacing and overall horror
@@dragoncat5767 yeah original is supperior, becouse I hate jump scares, not becouse they scary but becouse they are super annoying, and most horror in dead space 2 was just that and gore thats it... first part was very thrilling compared to second. But as game I loved it too.
When I first played this game I stayed for a good 10minutes in the transport with Ellie and Stross thinking "can't you guys just come with me please?" Haha
The moment I heard Isaac say "Oh my God... That's the Ishimura!" I could feel his horror. He has PTSD from his horrific experiences with that ship. The Ishimura is a place of horrors for Isaac.
One of the most memorable moments in the franchise for me. I swear I could feel the PTSD that Isaac had and maybe a little bit of my own because I played the first one at a pretty young age, and it scared the sh#t out of me. Lol (PTSD is a serious thing, and I'm not serious about having it from a game)
The part with ultra violet lights, where you can see the areas permanently stained with blood, is such a haunting sequence since it reinforces how the horrific history of the Ishimura will always be carved in the ship as long as it's still in one piece.
Returning to ishimura is like returning to a house or place that you got traumatized in real life, returning to this ship is as terrifying as going to it for the fist time
It was better that they didn’t. We expected it. Playing through this the first time; you are constantly waiting for it to start and it just doesn’t for like 12 minutes. It was a great way to build suspense and pressure
I'm still having PTSD from this returning to ishimura you remember everything from the first game it's like going back to rapture from bioshock infinite
I love the look of the Ishimura in this level. It’s far creepier with everything covered up, because deep down you know that there are going to be necromorphs inside, and no amount of medical isolation plastic, locked doors or lights can keep them away from you.
Probably the best thing that could have happened to fully cover up the incident was to chrash it into Aegis 7 at the end of Dead Space 1, then there wouldn’t most likely been more marker fragment spreading the infection further
That was definitely the Plan that the Doctor Kyne had in mind! I mean the dude was much more Level Headed and Sane, even if his own sanity was starting to slip. He at least wanted to Keep Humanity away from the rest of the Markers. Survival was his goal. It just sucks that both he and Isaac were betrayed by someone they thought they could trust. But honestly. It just goes to show that Unitology is cursed.
The part where he looked up where the wall that says usg ishumura i chilled in that area for like 20 minutes the first time for just the nostalgic vibe
DS2 really had no slow or boring stretches the entire run. Less scary overall but when it wanted to the devs knew how to make the game scary and the Ishimura retun is the peak form of that.
Are you playing on easy? You are taking very little damage with some of these slip ups. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Easily my favorite part of the sequel. Edit: yes definitely playing on easy… that is a dull way to experience this game. No risk.
Having PTSD from the first game, Coming back to the Ishimura was like entering a Haunted house. Scary.
Exactly my thoughts too...
I was like here we go again

hey dude was it true that the last time Isaac Clarke was the USG Ishimura that things didn't go so well
Correct me if im wrong but wasnt the ishimura empty?

Ya can really feel the relief at the end when he says "time to go" that he finally gets to leave the ship for good this time

That decontamination sequence from 15:50 had me on edge the whole time with the gases being sprayed 💀 they really nailed the references to DS1.
You can see him backing into the corner in prep for the fight. It's exactly what I did 😅
Watching this to compare the remake to dead space 2. I gotta say that they got a lot of details correct.
@Luke Starkiller Gaming lololol

So true! Its chilling!
Missed a perfect opportunity to use the first games elevator jumpscare as a hallucination.
YES
Maybe they can use that if they remake dead space 2

Except in Infinite you don't fight again because Elizabeth become omni.

it's unbelievable how these games barely aged

It's where you encounter the first drag tentacle in dead space 1
iamgine going back to ishimura again in deadspace 2 remake
It’s gonna happen and it’s gonna be 🔥🔥🔥
Because of how awesome the dead space remake is I hope they remake dead space 2
damn Isaac, we got out of this hell, only to come back
At 3:00 we were all thinking the same as Isaac
The plasma cutter here feels more impactful than the remake. The sound it emits sounds more like a gun than a cutter.
Now imagine if they remake Dead Space 2
Oh they will, it's just a matter of when
Blood, Gore, and Dinner for Dead Space Extraction, Dead Space 2, and Dead Space 3 remakes.
NGL I can't blame Issac for having PTSD from the first game. Takes courage to go back on it
Coming back to the ishimaru is the equivalent of "Ah shit, here we go again."
Kinda reminds me of returning to Zebes in Super Metroid or the entrance of Gruntilda's Lair in Banjo-Tooie.
*Play no attention to the text logs in the first game that said the ishimura was being mothballed*
10:15
this is where the fun begins.
Always hated the pregnant slashers one wrong shot and tiny necromorphs spew out
I currently am on chapter 8 I’m playing the games in celebration of the remake
I love the ishimura I wish I can go there
I wonder if they gonna remake Dead Space 2 and 3 as well
