I love that he wasn't a complete A-hole to begin with, he is just doing his job and he actually feel Jacob's situation and willing to talk for the sake of getting things done in a civil manner much like irl. Ferris is similar: whatever genetic rarity he has, it makes him able to keep his sanity. Or at least so it appears. Personally, considering all the infected on record talk about voices in their heads, I think that people like Ferris are simply more compatible and make better hosts, being more subtly subsumed over time. Whatever this infection is, it behaves more like some sort of terraforming/bioforming agent.

Its not hard at all as an overall game BUT if you are going for 100% trophy completion. Callisto Protocol is way harder than Dead Space remake. In Dead space remake for the platinum trophy if you are playing the impossible mode play through you can actually time out if you die and reload the game and continue on the progress as long as you save as you go. In Callisto protocol you cannot do this if you are playing the Contagion mode expansion trophy while beating the game without dying because once you die the death animation starts thus instantly locking you out of completion where as Dead Space doesn’t do this infinitely making Callisto Protocols play through immensely more pressurising for the gamer and easily a more prone mistake making situation making it easier and likelier to die by anything in the game knowing you generally only have one shot to get the gold trophy. Like Dead space you can still beat it on that playthrough because there are two contagion mode trophies, but you won’t get the other for beating it without dying if you die once
I say that Ferris was the most interesting character in the game. His physical transformation and the change in his intellectual resolution were distinct. ------------ A side note, the dialogue btw the Warden and Jacob was good too!!
Confusing bit about Ferris is that at the very end scene you see him pops out from nowhere for jumpscare and he somehow regained his mutated form after his final mutilated figures.
I personally like to think that he hulked out during the fight due to damage or stress and then shed the hulk form after his defeat when he was knocked out. Or maybe the infection brought him back to life. Either way, maybe we can get more Ferris in the future. 😂😂😂

Nah, he got infected when Jacob released the bios on him. Literally the entire "Callisto Protocol" was a way to get another "Alpha" because the first one from the colony died. It just so happened that the Alpha ended up being Ferris, probably because of his anger and sheer will to live which mutated the virus like the original Patient Zero.
I like how his 2nd transformation he looks like some kind of WWE wrestler reject and even has their corny insults like the part where he says during the fight, "You're gonna have to do -" then Jaco shoots him in the face to cut him off and all you hear is "BALAAGAHAGHAGAGAH!!!" LOL. 3:30

They do explain it. The warden was planning on releasing the specimens that night. So Jacob was never going to be able to leave, as to why they were told to capture them it's just him trying to preemptively cover his tracks. Jacob was hauling his illegal creatures around.

I think if that were the answer it would be a very "well whatever, just because" kind of solution.

The biggest missed opportunity imo for this game was a lack of human enemies Think of it your in a max security prison with gangs full of murderers they definitely could have ripped apart the biophage in numbers, it would have also added a new form of combat as they used guns allowing us to actually experience combat besides dodging left and right

I can’t wait for the sequel, which will take place on the Expanse, a massive space station in Jupiter orbit. And which will be legally distinct from Dead Space 2’s the Sprawl.
Was honestly impressed with this games attempt to be a successor of Dead Space, didn't really like the DLC tho. Spoilers!!!!! Jacob essentially goes through all this hell for nothing, gets strung up and lives out the remaining hours of his life in a medically induced dream state. Would've been 10x better leaving it open for a sequel.
Im pretty sure they only ended it that way because of how much backlash the game got. Im obviously theorizing but I wouldn’t be surprised if the game was largely a failure and thus they used the remainder of its game cycle to just end it. We did get Redacted but I haven’t played it nor do I know if it really connects to the main plot of Callisto.
The final confrontation between Jacob and Ferris was perfect. Jacob knows he hardly survived his encounter with the mutated Ferris back in the alien room, and you can tell how scared Jacob is when Ferris speed walks to "thank" him

Man this game had SO MUCH potential. If only they had put as much effort into the gameplay and enemies as they did the graphics and story.

I wish they did more with this character, we should’ve seen at least 2 days of Jacob’s time at black iron before the outbreak starts. The line in the trailer “I’m just trying to give you a a chance at rebirth” never appears anywhere else.

Was honestly impressed with this games attempt to be a successor of Dead Space, didn't really like the DLC tho. Spoilers!!!!! Jacob essentially goes through all this hell for nothing, gets strung up and lives out the remaining hours of his life in a medically induced dream state. Would've been 10x better leaving it open for a sequel.
Im pretty sure they only ended it that way because of how much backlash the game got. Im obviously theorizing but I wouldn’t be surprised if the game was largely a failure and thus they used the remainder of its game cycle to just end it. We did get Redacted but I haven’t played it nor do I know if it really connects to the main plot of Callisto.
Plus love this guy, of course he did voice Starkiller, Darth Maul and I believe The Emperor as well

When I was playing this game for the very first time I noticed Ferris looked familiar and the voice actor is sam witwer. DEACON ST JOHN
The final confrontation between Jacob and Ferris was perfect. Jacob knows he hardly survived his encounter with the mutated Ferris back in the alien room, and you can tell how scared Jacob is when Ferris speed walks to "thank" him
