- A river expert (Connie Selleca), her boyfriend (Matt McCoy), and her children (Anthony De Filippo, Alana Austin) go on a river rafting trip. But things go awry when they are taken captive by escaped convicts searching for stolen money.
I'm starting to be drawn to these older movies more and more, just to see how people used to be, no cell phones, laptops or computers in sight.
The acting is better to.
1999, so not even that long ago either.
I had none of those devices as a child and it was awesome

Great cast. I love Connie Selleca. And the daughter Alana Austin was in a movie called A Simple Twist of Fate with Steve Martin. She is a great little actress. This is a good story.

The movie was entertaining and with a good performance for the children, they also learn with the parents and mothers, nice performance from everyone, thank you
Reading the comments before I started the movie I thought the kids were small. It wasn't their 1st time on the water. Seems to be a pretty good movie.

The River Wild came out in 1994, with Kevin Bacon & Meryl Streep. Watch that movie THEN this movie.

It's surprising they tried to help an escaped inmate without knowing who he was. The waters and woods proved to be dangerous for this family on a rafting trip.
And then we’re fine with killing the two alive ones lol
They showed humanity and didn’t want to see anyone get killed.
This film shows how money makes people reveal who they really are.

This turned out to be a better movie than I had first thought. But why do the good guys hit the bad guy only once when they have a chance to beat him up? Keep hitting till he's done instead of hitting just once and turning around to run.You are giving the bad guy another chance to come after you this way. This kind of scene happens in too many movies. Of course, I understand the writers don't want to finish the movie right there but it's oftentimes frustrating.
How ridiculous things are is what makes these sorts of films fun though. They're not good movies but fun.
They could have killed him numerous times, ganged up and got the gun or escaped.
It's a trope. You gotta kill the bad guy - or else! It's a plot element or driver of films made in one particular country. It's not reality. Its the way certain stories are constructed.

I told myself the moment Bob wanted to stay in the woods instead of going to get help for the unconscious inmate that he was probably involved. Also had a feeling he stabbed him because he appeared out of nowhere when Gus heard that noise. But that comment about hitting somebody once is something that irritates me too.🤣🤣 The moment I hit you and you go down you can guarantee I’m gon’ keep hitting until the person is dead. You hit them once and they pop back up like Michael Myers. This was definitely worth the watch though.😩

Wow you are really delusional and brainwashed. Modern films constantly portray women as strong independent boss babes who are tougher than the men. How brainwashed are you to say that. And the reality is, whimpering in fear is how almost all women would behave in a survival situation. Female soldiers are far more likely to panic and experience trauma in war than male soldiers. And you can just watch the survivor episodes where men are pitted against women to see how useless they are in survival situations.
Remember last month when an assassi.n tried getting trump at the rally and *one of the female secret service was literally cowering in fear*? And there's footage + pics to prove it so no reason denying it. Also footage to prove she couldn't even holster her weapon even after multiple attempts. This is a woman who was given training, who was selected out of a large pool of female applicants. So if even an elite female reacts like that how would one of us from the general population react? I'm sorry you don't like us girls being portrayed accurately and realistically in films and I am also sorry you don't recognize that modern films portray females as stronger and more capable and brave than they portray the men. Either you only watch movies from before the 1980's or you've consumed too many f3minist lies.

I’ve had the hots for McCoy since I seen him on Murder She Wrote with Pearl as his wife. He had his shirt off and told his newly bride,” Cmon over her and comfort your new husband.” He was sexy on there as he is on here with his pretty eyes, nice smile, and white teeth. Pointed nose too. My grandma loved Murder She Wrote.
Did you see Jim Caviezel in MSW? So young. Love him in The Count of Monte Cristo and Frequency. Similar look to this guy who played the creepy Bob.

First screw up was not talking to the police on the side of the road to see what they were there for. Would have changed the whole experience. The mother is a lousy "raft guide". Crashed right away. Then she almost drowned.
They did everything she taught them so she's not lousy at all. Not talking to the Police about the Road Block they set up was their huge Mistake.

Watching now....they didn't even cover the guy up in the cold night. Or think of putting a bandage on him BEFORE they took off? smh
exactly my thoughts too. no pressure on wound, no bandaging, no fire to keep him from going into shock and didn't cover him up with nothing. a guide would also have basic first aid training so the movie really failed in this one area. otherwise was a good show.

Dangerous water's, good movie. Her boyfriend wasn't what she thought he was. Come to find out he had it all planned out. Money! I was worried a little but the mother and 2 kids made it. And lived. Ends up, no one got the money. Good movie.
