I thought your tour video featuring this mic was the most creative ad I have EVER seen. I am 74+-. Wow, AUDIGO is so super lucky to have such creative talent featuring their product. I am not even a musician, and i want one. Of course, I probably would never use most of the features, and I have not seen the price. But I have seen / heard!
I'm normally skeptical about infomercials, but this one is better than most. I have more mics than I need already but I have to admit this one (literally) sounds pretty good! Hope it will eventually work with Android also.

The “Studio” app from Audigo looks quite cool, and makes it extra attractive but the downside is that it doesn’t come for free with the mic. After three months you pay about 8$ per month. Otherwise you just have a mic…
Are the mics you mention coming with any software? Also the Rode wireless works with a receiver you need to connect physically (with a cable) to the phone so it can receive the sounds from the mic.
@acousticsound. Thanks for pointing out the monthlu fee. For me that would be a showstopper and hence would not buy the mic.

Enjoyed Toni's Dressed up song yesterday. Still wish I had seen you 2 here in Nashville a couple of years ago. We struggle week to week just to make it to the next pay period and I was so scared to take the evening off at work. I work evenings and Fridays I usually get some good OT but I look back and wish I had of made that sacrifice to see you. I am a big fan and try to always let other music lovers know about you. I know I never get a reply with not being a Patreon but it's not needed because I am sure you both are busy enough. Thank you both for all the exceptional music over the years and vids.

What is wrong with me. I have no use for a cute little magnetic mic. But I enjoyed watching this because Reina was speaking. As with her singing, so with her speaking. She could make a side hustle by reviewing stuff. And I am sold. If I ever need a mic I will get one of these. Cheers

Fantastic video and this mic is just what I need as a musician who writes a lot a lot of original, I do 100 takes before I get what I want and I'm constantly getting up to rerecord single tracks that I'm trying to layer all in my phone. I play a lot of instruments on my songs and this really seems like it's made to make musicians like us have a much easier time doing what we love... but unfortunately I am android user 🤣
I've been chasing this kind of elegant simplicity forever. Past solutions have dead-ended as devices, apps, formats, or entire technologies (think physical media) became obsolete, or by finding a hairpin learning curve or tangled thicket of unanticipated complications. Or something you just didn't think of. I felt confident ordering it before you finished, thanks to your thinking through all the scenarios a real musician needs to anticipate but often can't until they hit the road and it's too late! And of course your credibility is already locked in via your track record of pristine au naturel performance.

Awesome! Depends on what you are recording but it comes with magnetic adapter for both 5/8" threaded standard mic stands and 1/4" threaded mini and selfie stick type stands.
I’d love this little mic. I think the thing I’d want though is to be able to record while using my screen for tabs. I’d like the camera on phone or tablet to run behind the scenes. Beyond that this might just be on my wish list. I needed a boost of inspiration. Maybe I’ll get it for the summer weather and go play at the parks nearby. The price is gonna slow me down but it seems worth a try.

Hi Reina. I was so impressed with the sound quality of your runner video. I mentioned it in a comment and got a reply (well emoticons lol) from Audigo, so they are watching and listening lol. I have found so many things that both you and Toni do to be impressive over the years. I have to add explaining something like this. As I have gotten older my ability to pay attention to an explanation of something I don't understand that well has declined. Thanks for the introduction to some fabulous Christmas songs that I have not heard in the UK before.
I wonder if they use a DSP, because I suspect they do and EQ the hell out of those little condensers (probably even use an IR or convolution).
Which is actually a very very smart idea. Nice product, that really solved a problem and it looks likes these guys also know the practical problems from their own experience. You don't see those things that often anymore, so big thumbs up!
Why am I watching this? As a muso/ sound engineer I'm nearly completely cynical of promotions. BUT when this accomplished creative artist promotes something it will never be anything less than good. Thanks for the mic advice. Budding musicians have never been able to access good recording tech so cheaply and simply . If it was Bob Dylan promoting harmonicas I'd tell him to p.o......but when this crew promotes a product it's tested first.

This is great! My husband saw your European tour video and got me one, and I'm so excited to leave all the cables, interface box, and computer home!! I'm learning about how to use it, and this little video really helped. What I'm wondering about now is how to make a video with multiple video clips for collaborative music videos. So far my conclusion is that you need to export your project's audio file and use it as a base track for a second clip, and then edit the video in Final Cut Pro. Does that sound right? PS-- we are your big fans! Enjoyed your show in San Francisco recently-- keep up the great music!
Update: I asked the Audigo people about multiple video clips and here's what they said: "Currently, Audigo only supports one video recording per project, so anything involving multiple video clips would have to be done outside of the app. This is a feature we are going to be developing in-app soon, and would love to learn more about your use case. Any feedback on what you would like the app to be able to do to support multi-video clip usage would be valuable to us."

sounds great for close-micing an instrument. One thing I like to do is record nature sounds and ambients, where low self noise is important. Their web page doesn't mention a dBa noise level for example, can you comment on that relative to other mics you've used?
Pat, this is a great question that I don’t know the answer to. I’ll see if I can hunt down that info because I’m curious about its self noise level too. As I was using it, I wasn’t struck by there being any more or less self noise than your average condenser, but we have been mic-ing pretty close sources.

Oh, you need to reduce the exposure or brightness and increase contrast a bit for "in your house" section of your video. It was a bit too bright/overexposed IMO. But that didn't keep me from watching the vid....LOL. I had seen Toni's vid yesterday and the audio did sound very good from that little microphone!

Well, golly! I guess the next thing is you'll be able to shrink Toni and her guitar, add a magnet, and stick 'er on a lamp post where you need her! It IS pretty impressive! (of course the end result depends greatly on the skill of the operator...)

sounds very tempting. would like to know how it is connecting to the phone, bluetooth? and also what functions you lose if you don't continue the subscription. have to do some research.
Wi-Fi is used to transfer the audio that is record onto the mic's memory after the recording is stopped. You can use the mic's own Wi-Fi anywhere or set-up both the mic and the phone on a local network at home or office, etc. Bluetooth for the app to control the mic. Pro subscription features are listed on our website.

We pretend that if we purchase the same gear we'll sound as good. To be honest, the words "wireless and "condenser mic" just don't seem to go together. How intriguing!

They're working on an Android-compatible version for 2023! For now it just works with iPhone.

I put on the headset to listen. And I’ve seen you use the mic for other field recordings. Reina, you and the microphone sound great - tight full bass, well articulated mid and high range, pleasant real stereo, flawless mix. I see awesome facility with the iPhone app. A couple of questions. Air movement - does it ever need a dead cat outside? This review has very high production values, are you receiving some consideration for creating this endorsement?
we recommend a windscreen in more blustery conditions.
Hi Reina, I am not fussed about "gear," generally. I'm a photographer and almost all photography channels now focus on gear because people want to buy their way into producing excellent photographs. Please do not tread that route. You did this very well - and it was interesting but I enjoyed the video you and Toni did t'other day better; I look for your music. A behind the scenes video would also be inetresting but not too much on gear, please. Take care, cheerio - and thanks.

Wow! How life would have been so much easier in the days/years I was shooting video interviews with politicians, celebrities etc. So much equipment to lug around…. The price of this thing would have cut my costs so much. Now I’m just a retired old man, out of the business. Oh well, this is really cool - do people still say “cool”?
