    Clarification: you don’t need a subscription to use these mics.
    Certain features like collaboration, cloud storage, compression, auto sound-check are accessible via their subscription offerings, but not necessary to use basic mixing functionality.

    Thanks for the review. Question about the hiss noise being about 57 to 59: how much better is that than what I get from my iPhone mic? I’m thinking of trying this device to solve that problem. Thoughts?

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  2 місяці тому

      Good question! I haven’t tested a phone, but anecdotally, WAYYY better! I really only mentioned that because they would fall short of what I’d consider to be “studio” microphones, but they are gonna be a MASSIVE step up from a phone. I did a UA-cam short comparing 5 mics, in there, I used a cellphone and you can hear how bad it is. Should be a massive step up for you!

    I have the Audigo and love it! I wish you could use cinematic mode video and maybe turn up the saturation on delay/reverb features.

    Just purchased these today. For podcast purposes. I spoke with them via dm. They told me that it is iphone friendly. I asked if i recorded video and audio would i be able to save it to albums and not just a file. As i edit from cap cut. Just wanted to confirm with you if thats true. Other wise ill have to figure out how cap cut can take filea on phone

    Hey Randy! Awesome review! Dumb question though, so if you are using one mic to record singing while playing guitar (for instance) - would you have to record two separate tracks to edit the guitar and vocals separately in post? Or are you recording one take, and can still edit vocals separate from guitar?
    Hope that makes sense!

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  Місяць тому +1

      Yea for sure! Never a dumb question. You can either record separately, or record together. If you record guitar first, you can hook up your earbuds and record vocals over top! :) if you decide to record both at once, you can either use one or two mics. In my experience, one is more than enough for one person (singing and plying). You really only need two mics if you’re recording sound sources that are further away from one another. Hope this helps!

      @@randyrektor awesome! Thanks so much for your response!
      So when you muted your mic in front of the guitar and changed your wife’s mic to stereo - how were you able to balance your wife’s vocals vs your guitar? I figured one would’ve been louder than the other?

    How does this device perform in a live band situation, in excess of 110dB? Looking to replace a dying portable digital recorder for rehearsals.

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  27 днів тому +1

      Not sure about that loud, but I used it right in front of a PA that was running pretty hot and it handled it well. I already had the gain quite low, so I worry that much louder would be an issue, but it was perfect in my experience

      @@randyrektor yeah, but you just wanna be creative and shoot music and make small edits on the spots, have bars or convenient timeline, otherwise you’re just delaying the creative process.
      Of they’d do that, they could actually claim much more to be a studio tool…even if there’s a bit of a noise, you can still create really awesome albums, even for professional use.
      Some accessories like the perfect portable mic stand for it is missing…

    Can you use audigo if you also using a DJI gimbal? I like to video tape my bands rehearsals for social media and was looking to upgrade the sound. I just got the audigo and I’m trying to figure it out. - this set up requires an app for audigo and an app for the DJI gimbal

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  2 місяці тому +1

      Ooo interesting! I’m not sure if you’re required to be in either app at any given point. You can definitely use both, as long as one of the apps will work in the background.

    Great video!
    Have you tried using it with a DJI gimbal for video recording? I've been wondering if it would be compatible.
    Also, I'm curious if you've considered repurposing some of your longer videos into shorts. It's a great way to reach a wider audience and get more views. I offer a service that can help automate this process, so you can focus on creating more content.

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  Місяць тому +1

      I haven't but someone else gave it a go and said it worked! One of the apps needs to be able to work in the background, and I think I remember them saying the DJI was able to run in the background, but I'm not positive.
      Also yes! I've just started doing that to post to my socials. I don't love uploading unpolished cutdowns to my UA-cam channel that aren't made specifically to be shorts, but maybe something to experiment with!

    • @ahmadk_design
      @ahmadk_design Місяць тому

      @@randyrektor yeah.. ok. may be need to research more on that regarding DJI.
      Glad to know you are already into uploading shorts. And yeah.. trimming short videos out of longer ones actually help you to introduce your longer content to the audience that mostly watch short videos. You can add the original longer video into 'related video' section to do that.

    How do you approach connecting out in the field in remote places without WIFI? Is it still possible? Can you transfer back to the phone to listen to your track in the field also without WIFI? Those are the puzzling things to me. I want to record away from WIFI, but be able to check out my recordings.

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  Місяць тому +1

      You absolutely can! If you’re not connected to a home network, the mica actually broadcast their own wifi network! It’s super slick. If you’re on a home network, it will use that. It’s likely faster and less battery intensive. But you can certainly do everything literally anywhere. Hope this helps :)

    No direct monitoring with a headset?

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  2 місяці тому

      Not that I can tell. You can add tracks or a metronome to play along to, but you can’t direct monitor.

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  2 місяці тому

      I've been thinking about this since you mentioned it. It would make my point about having a 1/4" DI option challenging because there would't be a way to monitor. Which would mean, you would likely need to use an amp anyways 🤷Maybe a lot of work for the few people like me who don't use amps.
