    This one was a lot of fun to shoot. Had no idea the Footswitch did so much with the BeatBuddy. It does so much that I'm going to need to shoot a couple of additional videos to include the BeatBuddy Mini and MIDI Maestro.

    thanks for posting this, you just saved me a lot of headaches, i got the BB a few days ago and got the foot switch today, didn't follow the instructions as close as I should of and both of my switches were acting like a crash sybil .... you talked me through it and off the ledge ..Thanks

    with the BB + the footswitch - can you move BACKWARD with your drum parts? example - if you had 3 drum parts within your song, I understand how you can advance from part 1 to part 2. But can you move from part 2 back to part 1? or from 3 back to 2? or can you only advance forward? (using the footswitch?)

      Hey there, yes you can! You can either change one of the footswitches on the Footswitch+ to go to the previous part of the song when the song is playing, or if you want more MIDI options, check out our MIDI Maestro, where we have a pre made BeatBuddy mode with a ton of commands to help you navigate through your beat. Very interesting, can you tell me whether the function you assign to the two switches stay the same until you decide to go into the menu and edit them again, or they can be assigned differently for each song you load onto the BeatBuddy? (Say, for example... for the first song in the setlist, the left footswitch is an accent, but for the following song has another function already assigned and loaded)

    Not sure if it's addressed anywhere, but is it possible to use the stock drum tracks at different time signatures? I picked one of these up this week and I notice all the genres and songs are in 4/4, aside from the Odd Time folder of course

    • @ThePedalGuy
      @ThePedalGuy  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the question. It's a beat playback, so if you want to create odd time signature songs for it, you need to do it in a DAW and then import the song parts into the BeatBuddy. I will be covering this at some point.

    • @stario
      @stario 4 роки тому +1

      @@ThePedalGuy I see. Short answer: No if speaking strictly of the unit. Long Answer: Yes with external help.
      I haven't had too much time to dive in. Currently it's on my pedalboard at the end of the chain. Ran it straight into the DAW and recorded a guitar/drum track in one take. Upon playback, I was impressed at the quality of the drums. Sounding so real!

      @@stario yes and through a decent amp or home stereo even they do sound great. I just figured out how to change tracks inside the same folder... Like from funk one to funk two or even from one to eight... Just by doing it in time with your hands-while it's playing push the right cursor and scroll to where you want to go then right in time press the foot pedal along with the right cursor. I do this when I'm sending these drum parts to my stereo looper, not when I'm out busking but when I'm at home. I don't know if this is something stupid that everybody knows but I just learned it, just by doing it.

  • @lperry65
    @lperry65 3 роки тому +1

    Be aware that the beat buddy will not play a song, it will only play a part. You have to manually transition through all the parts in a song plus fills. Transitions need the pedal to be held down for a different duration to a fill unless you have the extra foot switch and set it up to transition etc. either way you have to manually transition through every song and some have many transitions. Sultans of swing has 27 plus fills and you have to get the timing right. It’s a great sounding drum pedal but I bought it thinking I could play entire songs by pressing on the pedal and leaving to play, I also bought a lot of the premium library only to find it doesn’t have that ability. It wasn’t obvious to me when I was looking to buy it that this was the case so be warned you will need to put a lot of time into this if you want to use it in your band !

    • @ThePedalGuy
      @ThePedalGuy  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for sharing. Like I often say, you need to treat the pedal like an instrument. It takes time to learn and use it effectively in a live or studio situation. Some are easier than others. What I will say is that the BeatBuddy when combined with the external footswitch produces an amazing combination. But yes, you need to practice and learn the pedal.

    • @alessandroarcuri209
      @alessandroarcuri209 2 роки тому +1

      Actually I've read on the Singular Sound forum, that you can load soundfiles (wave files, that is) that can be used as "finite" backing tracks, so to speak. It takes a bit of tweaking (nothing major, just some "preparing" of the file on the computer interface, not on the pedal itself) and it has some downsides like the fact that apparently once you make the sound file start, there's no way of stopping it with double or triple taps on the pedal. Because it's not a MIDI command. You have to turn the unit of by unplugging it. But whatever... if you keep that in mind and be careful not to start a song by accident, you should be ok.
