One of the best demos of the external foot switch. Quick, precise and complete. Some people take almost half a hour to say the same thing. Keep it up man!
Thank you so much for this. Nowhere - and I looked in a lot of places - does Singular Sound actually tell us how to use the footswitch with the BB Mini 2. Not in the printed manual. Nothing in the footswitch box except a warning card which tells you how to connect it to a BeatBuddy only - not the Mini - and instructs you to use controls the Mini 2 does not have, and nothing in the on-line manual either. I checked their FAQ - nothing. Worse, because the name of the Mini 2 contains the name of the BeatBuddy (non-mini) web search results tend to be useless. A very poor effort from Singular Sound - but your video is concise, comprehensive, and easy to understand. Now I finally know how to set the tempo. They should hire you!
What I do is set the footswitch operation to what I want each switch to do when I step on the switches, then I put the beatbuddy up on the table right by me so I can see the dam thing and switch through everything with the footswitch on the floor ....works great! But of course you will need a longer cable to connect them!!
but, can you store tempos and songs with names, so its firm and set and reasdy for a live gig ? I can not set tempe fro each song in a live situation. Is it possible to store custom made songs then ?of not its useless for live sutiation .
Great vid,... so, I just got my footswitch (didn't test it yet, will soon) - but, quick question … I see you can use the footswitch to increase the BPM / tempo - but what if you need to decrease it? Can you do that with the footswitch? or will I have to turn the knob (I assume the knob, lol, but just thought I'd ask) - but all your vids are excellent - thanks …
Wondering the same thing... I assume it doesn't decrease tempo - probably have to bend down and turn the knob - which sucks ... lol - but if you find out how to do it with the footswitch, pls let me know
@@ThePedalGuy I JUST figured out how to do it! If you press and hold down the right knob, it will say “Intro On.” Rotate the knob and it will change to “Intro Off.” I accidentally found that, lol!
@@desertsandcastles hey i know its 6months later but im guessing u hooked ur pedal up with a patch cable Wont work with a ts cable (which is a normal guitar cable) You need a trs cable (tip ring sleeve) This should solve that problem
Don't quote me on this, as I am only very new to using this pedal - but I do NOT think 'pause' on footswitch can be used as 'start/stop' (I could be wrong on that) - but I do know that you can disable the intro and outro drum roll if you prefer ...
You can get a cheaper footswitch that will be better quality. The three button little monster from digitech sold with or seperately with the Digitech band Trio+ will save you some money and will be much much tougher in build and much cheaper. I got that switch and it is better then the expensive Boss switch. It makes more noise so I use boss for recordings, but for a live gig the digitech outbeat all switch pedals i have seen in my life! And it is tiny and have 3 buttons not two. If your hardware is made for two buttons you can still use it but only two of them will work. Please try! Save some cash.. Our music gear is expensive enough already and not always come with quality when using it on the stage..
What the hell was I thinking I got the beatbuddy Mini 2 instead of the normal beatbuddy that has all the different artists songs on it. I'm going to ####myself

I like it when they make it short and sweet too.

Thank you for the kind words June. Glad you’re using the footswitch with the BB Mini. I will be sure to pass along the feedback.
@@ThePedalGuy How do you get the Mini to recognize the foot switch!?
@@snapcast9098 just plug it into the fs port on the BeatBuddy. That’s it
@@ThePedalGuy Alas that did not work for me! :( Just got the fs in the mail from Sweetwater today. immediately plugged it in and... nothing.

Question: how do you use the footswitch to lower the tempo not raise it?
Nice review, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
can yu change tempo with the footswitch
Great video man!
Thanks!
Will this work on the mooer x2 drummer
How do you slow down the tempo with the switch?
does the right button also do the same 'Tap/Fill' , Hold/Trans, TAPx2=end' as the main unit???
Canyou get the beatbuddy mini to work with the new sheeran looper+
Perfect!
😎

Can I pre-program a set list with the song and tempo already set up and use the foot switch to navigate through that set?
gREAT vIDEO .... hOW DO YOU SET THE " pop/rock " genre
Hello, I love my beat buddy but i ordered a foot switch on ebay and it detects the left side but shows that right side isn't detected? is it broken?
Not sure. Are you using the included TRS cable that came with the footswitch?
@@ThePedalGuy I’m just using a regular small pedal cable
@@dearquan ah. That’s probably the issue. It needs to be a TRS cable. The one that comes with the footswitch is the correct cable
Can you set it to do an auto fill every few bars?
You mean preprogram it? No the BB mini doesn’t work like that

Could I use this with my TC helicon acoustic play and looper? Your the pedal lord 😊!
It would work fine. Just keep in mind you won’t be able to sync the looper up to the BeatBuddy mini.
@@ThePedalGuy if I have a beat going for a song, then I can sync my loop to the existing beat?
@@VonnStrummer no. There’s no midi on the BeatBuddy mini so u cannot sync
if I'm using this on my pedal board where should I put it in the chain? Assuming it doesn't matter because it supposedly has true bypass?
Thanks for the question. It does have an audio pass-through so ideally it should go at the end of your signal chain. Hope that helps

How did you get it into secondary mode? Mine stays in primary no matter what configuration of buttons I mash.
You need to press and hold the right footswitch on the external foot switch
@@ThePedalGuy I tried that over and over and it wont go there. I must have a defective pedal. I just received it today. Thanks for your help though.

Can you not change the functions of the external foot switch?
No not with the BeatBuddy mini.
How do u change from 4/4 to 6/8
Answered on another video
Thanks for this. Can the names of songs be changed through software and can new rhythms be added? Thanks
Not with the mini.
Thank you
The pedal works with batteries?
No it requires a power supply. Which is included

And when you will give your beat buddy real live, spend him a volume pedal. Yes it makes a different.
Why in God's name would anyone buy the beatbuddy to instead of the one with all the different bands songs in it? That is honest question
LOL
