- A sad lovely song -- those who know, know it from Bing and Louis. But sadness, whole-heartedly dramatized, is joy. Thank the EarRegulars for this sustained joy from The Ear Out (that's located on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 3:30 in front of The Ear Inn, 326 Spring Street, Soho, New York City).
On July 25, 2021, they were Jon-Erik Kellso, Puje trumpet; John Allred, trombone; James Chirillo, guitar; Neal Caine, string bass, with NOLA guest Shaye Cohn, cornet, joining them.
Recorded with gratitude by Michael Steinman for JAZZ LIVES (www.jazzlives.w...).
Perfect rendition. Shaye floors me. Every one of these cats floors me. And a total classic!
Classic stuff, that guitarist is really solid and sweet, keeping it all together, and nice to see the fabulous Shaye Cohn in the mix.
Jazz magic…….a sunny morning in lower manhattan….sublime music.
So nice! Happy to hear all of you all.
Great number , trombone player smooth as silk and right on the money, both trumpets are killer, Louis is here, guitar bass just right in that groove. Just beautiful, American treasure.
Bravo!
That was fantastic.
Jazz heaven
Yes ! Classic Magic. I listen to it again & again !
it so nice to hear Ms. Cohn stretch out with this kind of slow jazz ballad music , as well as the skinny tuba band stuff.....
Could listen to hours of this
Sweet. Just sweet, pro at the best level of quality jazz. Great to see Shaye Cohn with the guys. Extra sweet.
They all clearly love this song, as do I.

Shaye is he winner here! Beautiful interpretation,
Great trombonist,I think he played in Florida years back, maybe with his father,Bill Alfred.I bought a CD from them. Very impressive duo, the Allred’s,John and Bill!

Both great in their own way. Both winners!
i could listen to Shaye's dad play that guitar all day!!
But this is James Chirillo. Nothing against Joe Cohn.

Shaye is magnificent. Interesting to compare with her performance of the same tune with different lineup at Mona's. Nice departure from typical Tuba Skinny book. Allred kind of Teagarden--esq.
拍手!
