    What can you say about Shaye's obvious talents? You can put her in any setting or venue and she'll always stand out. Third generation jazz and it shows every time she picks up that cornet or sits at the piano. Not to leave out the many other instruments she's mastered. Just an amazing performer.....................

      got those Tuba Skinny CDs in the mail yesterday, and they are better than bank CDs,
      but the thing is, Shaye's artwork on the album covers made me fall off my rocking chair.
      How did all this talent get packed together like that?

      Watching, listening, feeling, really feeling the magic brought by the magical, talented, and beautiful Shaye Cohn makes me tear up with joy, love, appreciation and more for everything Shaye brings to the world of music, Jazz Music. Every video I watch of Shaye, makes me fall in love with her. A special part of Shaye, I hope she knows she has.

    Many thanks, Randy. 'Who's Sorry Now?' was composed in 1923 by Bert Kalmar, Harry Ruby and Ted Snyder. Beautifully performed here. I wondered what was going on during the four bars after the second chorus (02:05 - 02:12) and then realised Charlie, Julie and Mollie were skilfully transposing the key from B flat to E flat, so that Molly could sing it in a key with which she was comfortable. After the vocal, they stayed in E flat for all the solos and final vocal.

    I just discovered other major talent in Shaye's family:
    *Al Cohn* (November 24, 1925 - February 15, 1988) was an American jazz saxophonist, arranger and composer. He came to prominence in the band of clarinetist Woody Herman and was known for his longtime musical partnership with fellow saxophonist Zoot Sims.
    Alvin Gilbert Cohn was born in Brooklyn, New York.
    In addition to his work as a jazz tenor saxophonist, Cohn was widely respected as an arranger. His work included the Broadway productions of Raisin' and Sophisticated Ladies, and his arrangements of his own compositions were recorded by big bands led by Maynard Ferguson, Gerry Mulligan, Terry Gibbs and Bob Brookmeyer. Also, Cohn did arrangements for unreleased Linda Ronstadt recordings from the 1980s.
    Cohn also appeared on stage with Elvis Presley in June, 1972, as a member of the Joe Malin Orchestra at Madison Square Garden.
    Cohn's first wife was singer Marilyn Moore. His son, Joe Cohn, is a jazz guitarist. Granddaughter Shaye Cohn, Joe's daughter, is a musician who plays cornet with her band Tuba Skinny in New Orleans and at jazz festivals in Italy, France, Australia, and elsewhere. Shaye also plays accordion, violin and piano.
    Cohn was married to Flo Handy, a singer and composer, from the mid-1960s until his death.
    ~~~~~
    *Joseph Mark Cohn* (born December 28, 1956) is an American jazz guitarist.
    The son of Al Cohn, he started to play the guitar in his teens, transcribing from recordings featuring Art Tatum, Thad Jones, and Clifford Brown. Besides taking lessons, he attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he also played with Nick Brignola and Bob Mover. He is self-taught on double bass and performed with musicians at hotels in the Catskill Mountains. He continued to play bass in New York City with Freddy Cole and Buddy DeFranco. Beginning in 1984, he played guitar for several years in the Artie Shaw Orchestra led by Dick Johnson in addition to learning the trumpet. He recorded and toured with his father, saxophonist Al Cohn. In the 1990s, he was a member of the Carmen Leggio quartet with Bill Crow.
    His daughter Shaye Cohn plays cornet with Tuba Skinny.
    ~~~~~
    Again, to reiterate the above information, Shaye plays coronet, accordion, violin, and piano. Unbelievable. What an amazingly talented musician. *UPDATE:* I just found a video of Shaye playing trombone, too! Holy moly...

      @@clarencesimpson2501 Thank you, friend. Better late than never. I've tended to stay rooted in particular genres, artists, and periods and I've been reticent to go looking for new (to me) music, because: (1) I'm lazy, (2) I like the stuff I listen to, and (3) I thought there's not any new music that's any good. Clearly, that last idea is easily invalidated by Shaye, Erika, and Tuba Skinny.
      Just two days ago, I stumbled upon another artist whom I think is spectacular. Her name is Kandace Springs. You may already be aware of her. But, if not, here's a sample of her singing the great jazz standard "Solitude." ua-cam.com/video/-wNNJHQej8Q/v-deo.html When I first heard it, I immediately thought of Nina Simone. In an interview, Kandace stated that Nina was one of her influences growing up. Kandace is only 34 and released her first album in 2014 with Blue Note Records -- at age 25.
      Shaye, Kandace, and many others in their orbit make me realize how little I've accomplished. Thanks for the note. Wishing you well.

    Shaye was playing at Mona’s bar NYC. Look up Dennis Lichtman’s channel, and Tamara Korn was singing. Tamara has a connection with Dennis Lichtman going back, also Dennis Lichtman has connections with Ed Polcer, who use to own Eddie Condon’s bar, and I didn’t realise how famous Ed Polcer is, just thought he was a New Orleans jobbing musician.

      @@ZOOTSUITBEATNICK1 it just this minute came into my mind that I saw an episode of the Canadian series "Supernatural" (set in the USA), where the boys went back in time and saw Robert Johnson performing in a so called juke joint. Get inside and the people are sat quietly and respectfully in rows, listening to our boy play the most boring, un Robert-like guitar instrumental you heard in your life. No bar in sight, no dancing, then respectful applause at the end of the number, and Robert thanked the audience and left. Wouldn't we all prefer a real juke joint, with dancing and laughing, people getting knifed maybe, and Robert having to sing and play loud to get attention? I would, God that gig was boring, how they had the nerve to show that in relation to Robert Johnson is beyond me.
