"ROSE ROOM": The EarRegulars: JON-ERIK KELLSO, JOHN ALLRED, JOE COHN, NEAL MINER (5.16.21)

It's an honor to be present (with video camera) to document the resurrection of New York City through lyrical inventive swing: this performance, the second by the EarRegulars outside their usual haunt, The Ear Inn, 326 Spring Street, Soho, New York City. It's perhaps odd for jazz musicians: in daylight, outdoors, but Jon-Erik Kellso, trumpet (a Harry B. Jay horn of the kind Louis played alongside Joe Oliver), John Allred, trombone; Neal Miner, string bass; Joe Cohn, guitar, are undeterred and probably inspired by Nature and fresh air. one of the best going... and no one more dedicated to the craft and preservation of this music. And lets not forget to mention Mr. Allred, who I think is one of the two best trombonists in the world. Jon-Erik is so lucky to have guys like this at his disposal in NYC.
