I love the look of admiration on the Japanese trumpet players face as he watches Shaye play, he's a horn player and appreciates how good she really is.
I'm 60 (young) and play Jelly Roll on guitar and sing it. Most of my peers don't know the song. It pleases me so much that to know when I'm gone, there are younger generations around the world who love the song and perform it just as I have done. Cool.

Is that a young Tamura Makiko on clarinet? Sure it is. Not only an excellent player but she has that something extra that makes you remember her name. Beautiful jazz!! Good to see Shaye abroad, spreading the love..
I am delighted that JAZZ has taken root and is really flourishing in JAPAN.Eigo ga dekimasu?Wonderful music and played by outstanding musicians.!Bravo!

It just don't get any better than this, they are all truly professionals. Shaye Cohn is well known in the music circles, New Orleans would not be the same without her~USA
I think I’ve used every superlative ever invented for Shaye, so I'm going to have to invent some new ones for the other musicians. A bit of an extra shout out for the clarinetist and bassist! Their instruments definitely sang rather than were played.
Quelle intelligence de jeu qu'à SHAYE COHN j'adore sa façon de jouer mais aussi d'écouter les autres de se placer avec, et de leader en toute sérénité BREF J'ADORE cette musicienne
I have to say that Jazz and ragtime are not, in my mind, normally associated with the Japanese, but it has to be said that they excel on any instrument that excites their interest. Nice that they loosened up a bit the further in they got. The pianist started out looking like my granny playing the church organ, but ended up bobbing along in the spirit of the music.
There's just something so subtly sexy about Shay, her talent, underlying spirit, laid back showmanship, and confidence. Gotta love a woman with earthly talents, and a built-in non-stop metronome. Thank you Shay!
@@Tonetwisters Funny I don't see her in a sexual way at all. Objectively she IS beautiful but I see mostly the musician. I see one of the best of all time. Multi instrumental soloist. Shaye Cohn on cornet and Makiko Tamura on clarinet is a musical pairing made in heaven. Oh, how I wish they could play together more often.
Shaye here shows how much class she has. She can out play the other trumpet but stands back and let's him have his day.
Neither trumpet is much good. Very harsh sound, flat affect.
She sure does........
@@joshdrexler8773 Bite your tongue. They both sound exactly like they should. Check your sound system
Obviously Shaye's whole performance, tone tempo and comportment is superior.
Fine young clarinetist. Great sounding group. Japanese musicians helping to keep a uniquely American musical style alive.

Nothing nicer than musicians listening to one another and creating harmony as opposed to competing with one another 👍
