Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Imagine how terrifying it must have been for Mike, to realize someone figured out his every move, sneaked up on his car, set up the horn and left a note, ALL without him knowing anything. He knew he was dealing with something of a huge magnitude
I'll bet he wishes he packed some Imodium

That’s why in Season 3 you can see him panicking and driving away.
Apparently knew that Nacho would happen to standing in front of Hector at 1:37 when Mike otherwise had a clear shot, too.
Gus doomed himself by making Hector live.

Assignation will draw uninvited attention
No, Gus was saving himself by not letting Mike kill Hector right now. As Gus explained in a later episode, the death of a Salamanca north of the border under any circumstances would lead to Gus being suspected. The Cartel already knows Gus and the Salamancas hate each other.
Hector got him in the end.
Not, really, thats like saying that he doomed himself for working with Mike too, because mike was the contact of saul that introduce Walter
I love how the background insect sounds cut out for a short while before he could make out the car horn. I don't think that's just for sound design purposes. A horn suddenly blaring might very well "switch off" nearby insect songs.
1:23 production crew had to take the camera to the house to film a 4 second shot
How different the breaking bad universe would be if nacho just stood a few feet in another spot
Pretty sure it would be better for everyone
@@BlazeManProject Even Hector
Without this interruption, there'd be no Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad will still happen. The probable dramatic change of it is that Lalo will probably takeover than Tuco, because Lalo imo wouldn't probably know Gus's revenge plan on them with Hector dying in BCS as a factor.
Hell, it might be a feud or a long term cat and mouse chase between Mike and Gus instead more than anything that could possibly changed if Hector died in BCS as a factor. What's more interesting imo is, what will Hank and Lalo rival looks like out of all that will change on this timeline if that happened.
The disappointed teeth suck when he had to pass up the perfect double kill 😂
gus biggest mistake
His biggest mistake was probably Walter White

Gus’ biggest mistake is letting Nacho die
Not a mistake at all. If Héctor died north of the border Gus would have been suspected by the cartel
Gus: "I decide when he dies....no one else."

It’s a good thing nacho was standing there because if not gus’ men would’ve been way too late

Mike couldn’t hear the drivers yelling so, he’s probably far enough away.
That guy was screaming st the top of his lungs and Mike couldnt hear a thing. Besides, they were all inside that house with doors closed, so its pretty much impossible to hear
"Morals are interesting."
Mike goes after Hector because he threatened his family.
Gus is all like
“GET IN LINE BUDDY! He merely threatened someone you love!”
That was close Mike almost interrupted the breaking bad cannon
This is the exact moment when Walter White didn't became anything

This admittedly was the most satisfying scene up to this point in the show, with regard to story arc in connection to Breaking Bad. The cinematography conveys a brilliant western-style perspective with the neo-noir black comedy medium. As a prequel show, the suspense in this scene is unparalleled.

Mike didnt hear a car pull up to his car? The Salamaca's didn't hear a car horn going off...sounds travels very far in the silent desert.
Yeah a few things didn't add up. The sound from the headshot came far too quick for the distance mike was at. There should have been at least a 1 second delay. Sound travels at 1100 feet per second. He was more than 1100 feet away
Alright here are your answers :
Mikr took a few seconds to judge if the sound was coming from the Salamancas or from somewhere else, so we can assume he parked his car too far to hear another one pull up. Even Mike took a few seconds to hear that horn. Theres no way Salamancas could have heard it, who were at least 150 meters away, judging from the gunshot delay. And there is not much difference b/w the speed of sound in deserts and normal(normal : 343 m/s, deserts: 360m/s), so it doesnt affect that much
Do you think Mike upgraded the scope?
Nope, that sight picture isn't Schmidt&Bender. That's a Leupold for sure.
@@MrErizid Guess it wasn't worth the extra money either way seems to be a solid scope took out those bandits.
Just occurred to me, could it be that Gus told nacho to purposefully stand between Hector and Mike to delay the assassination?
Nah, Nacho wasn't Gus's mole yet
‘DON’T’ note courtesy of Joe Biden of Sandpiper Crossing.
It amazes me how people can inject politics into a video that has absolutely nothing to do with them.
@@Gruzzly - oh _do_ lighten up a little Gruzzer! 😊
People keep saying that this would have messed up the Breaking Bad canon, but in fact it wouldn't. A bullet to the head, from that distance and to a person surrounded by people ready to get him a doctor, is not necessarily lethal, and it could have been the alternate explanation to why he ended up paralyzed.
As much as I like this series, this scene was complete bs. Just imagine the odds:
- He stays in the right angle
- He stays on the right side of Hector
- Mike doesn't take the shot, even though the bullet could very well kill both
- and of course Gus knew this all was about to happen and managed to give him a warning with his car alarm...
Nah I am not buying it. This just screams bad script.
There are many moments in this series that I could never buy into much the same. Gus was mere seconds from losing everything here and for the sake of brevity, they drag it out instead of having one of Gus' men sneak up on Mike to stop him.
@4:49...that's where Joe Biden got his slogan....Way to go Joementia!
