- Patrick's Parabox Demo - this is my most anticipated game of 2021 and it's a puzzle game with an exciting take on recursion and inception. We're back to the grid, pushing around blocks, but also pushing around LEVELS! What kind of mind-melting stuff can come of this?

The recursion train continues! What's your most anticipated game for 2021?

recursion is pretty cool

Tyler is the best source of puzzle game recommendations on the net
Not very fast, but definitely the most reliable
Yup
I am in agreement
I agree, well some of the best
He is the recommendations
in two of those levels you absolutely can push the level out of itself
feel free to not spoil yourself on what happens though
I did when I played it.
@@EvanG529 Mind spoiling it for those of us that don't want to play it through since we just watched it?
@@franticshooter7157 The demo only took me 20 minutes, but the infinity paradox isn't super crazy, basically it would create an infinitely long line of levels the same size as each other. Since the game can't do an infinite number it puts you at the end of the line and puts you in a little blank room. It seems like more of a "you lost" room more than an accurate representation of what happens, but it gets the general idea.
@@franticshooter7157 spoiler beware for those who dont want to know
when you push a room out of itself, at least in the situations presented in this demo, the room is placed into an empty void. exiting the room reveals that the one you were just in has a grey "infinity" sign over it, and the one you pushed out doesnt. you can push things around in this empty void but cant push things into rooms or enter them yourself.
it seems to me that this is either going to be a fail state or just isnt properly implemented in the demo. hoping for the second option, expecting the first option.
@@EvanG529 i really hope it doesnt stay as a you "you lost" room because itd be fun to do stuff out there, but i understand that it wouldnt be very logical
An alien in a rock in an alien in a rock in alien in a rock...
im concerned that there is a rock in an alien

Tyler sees a 2d, grid-based puzzle game where the main character is just a shape with two dots for eyes and he just goes wild
yeah me too
This game looks more trippy than a game inside a game inside a game
And personally I like this one more
@@sugar2000galaxy same
inside a game inside inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game
I think it looks more trippy because the player block’s size changes rather than them all being a bit separate.
If you like this, then you need to try Recursed. It's VERY difficult. One the same level as baba is you
Recursed. Good game.
This.
definitely, play recursed
maybe try game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game inside a game
Tyler NEEDS to play a game called “recursed” if he’s into recursion right now. It is an extremely difficult puzzle game, not baba level, but still so hard I couldn’t get close to finishing it (but I’m bad at puzzle games).
I got bloonboozled.....
Dude I stayed up until 12 am expecting bloons.... oh well I'm fine with this too.
Greetings from discord
When your expecting Tyler to upload BTD6 but you get a new game instead:
*Everything is not okie dokie*
But then you realise Tyler uploaded:
*Everything is Okie Dokie*
hey you are that one guy that is in the poly bridge discord
"This will eventually be hard to keep track of" He says, like 3 levels past where it already started to be hard for me to track lmao. I am bad at puzzle games, but I love watching Tyler solve them and commentate his thought process.
This is my new most anticipated game
second. karlson is first.

You fool! You had the perfect chance to push the level out of the level and you didn't take it.
Changing the music and reducing sound effects really changed the tone of the final game to a more calm puzzle focused vibe. Especially the sound and visual when you finish a level
11:53 It looks like you can try to push the level out of itself in this one...
So cool to see that this game is finally finished and released! Hopefully Tyler has fun time trying the full game.
It looked like in that last level you could push the level out of the level
ua-cam.com/video/Umq5_atpqQw/v-deo.html
You can, and then you go to an infinite exit block.
Tyler you missed the possible paradox on the level at 11:18 and the level after.
something cool actually happens when you actually do the paradox, i've just tested it
@@schino what happens
@@MandrakeGuy you can go "outside" and you will see a movable level and a movable level with an infinity symbol (representing that you just did a paradox)
the movable levels will also have a red border so you can't push the levels into each other
@@schino so the game "half-breaks" :P
How can you play it when it’s not out?
1 - this game looks cool
2 - the way the cube squeezes in and out of levels looks cute
3 - Tyler looks smart figuring out these levels so fast
"How do you put this into words?"
It's a grid-based block-pushing puzzle where some of the blocks are puzzles; entering a puzzle-block shrinks you to fit (and exiting a puzzle-block gets you back to normal size); some puzzles contain themselves as puzzle-blocks.
The shrinking/growing mechanic is one of the things that distinguishes this from Sam Hogan's game; that, and the grid-based movement versus golf
4:21 this level feels like when you're dealing with if/else statements and you put an if/else statement inside an if/else statement
no clue how you wrapped your head around some of those. i could get them eventually but the speed at which you did that was crazy. it was just tripping me out
he's probably editing out a lot of hems and haws as usual
11:18: You can push the block outside of itself and it makes an interesting thing happen
Watching the farthest out dude brush past the level square reminds me of the cell stage of Spore, seeing the more advanced cells swim around in the background
A puzzle game that I recently started playing that you might like is Deleveled. It's a very unique platformer that involves 2 little cubes, one on top of the level, and one on the bottom. These cubes always fall towards the center of the level, and if they hit the same line, they repel each other. There is no jumping either. Only the momentum of the bounces can propel you over obstacles.
So Boxxle where other leves also act as their own blocks, and you also have to get the avatar into its correct position too.
What a refreshing take.
I like the look of this game it has a happy feel and it seems like it has a chill fun mood. Also the concept is really cool I hope you keep playing it.
My guy is an actual genius. He's well spoken, able to think and very knowledgeable on the topics of game design and such! I just might have to subscribe!
this game looks so cool, definitely excited for more content on it when it comes out!
Wow this game looks hype as hell. I'm normally not a puzzle game person (though I do enjoy watching them) but this one looks so cool so I'm definitely gonna have to pick it up when it comes out.
i recently picked up another recursion based puzzle game called Recursed on the steam sale. it has proper recursive loops and is pretty wacky for being pretty old
Oh I so wanted you to try this game. I love the concept of this game.
Downloaded the demo and added to wishlist. This game looks great!
thanks for this quality content!
Would love to see more of this in the future
This is trippy as hell...
...
I love it!
What would be amazing is if it kept going down and down, but at the very end you start going more up until at the very end, you finish the first puzzle.
This looks absolutely amazing, I can't wait
Started watching video, immediately tried the demo, beat it in 15 minutes, put the release on my wish-list.
This is actually really cool I'm not usually a big fan of puzzle games but this has my attention
This looks so interesting. What a great concept.
This game is a steady gradient of "Aww, neat!" to "Ahh, wtf?!"
Infinite loop just like UA-cam reaction videos.
I love how trippy this game is and I love it
I hope it gets released some day
This game is awesome! I watched to like 2:20 and then decied to check it out myself. Thank god this is a free demo.
This looks sick! I can't wait to play it
I love this series.
Aliensrock:gets sad they cant make a paradox
The next stage: lets you make a paradox
Also Aliensrock: ignores paradox
Looking back at the demo, it's funny to see the sort of last minute changes they made, mostly with the sounds and the menu..
when he gets out of the tutorial, it gets trippy as hell
can't wait for you to play this game when it comes out
I like how he says
"we just push that block over there"
Like he is streaming with chat even though he is alone
Bro i really do love your btd videos
Bro you need more subs you deserve it
0:25 My favorite game is Bob is you
I've never been a fan of playing puzzle games on my own, but this is so fkn cool
At first i thought this was just game inside a game inside a game but i realized this is a new video
Patrick’s parabox = Baba is you + sokoban
this game looks amazing!
Tyler works through these levels so fast!
Isaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbb, Tyler's playing trippy puzzle games again
I'm loving this game
Gonna have to wishlist this game on steam rn
You made many of these puzzles far more complicated than necessary.
This game is truly awesome
cant wait for more!
Hopefully there's more to the "pushing the puzzle outside itself" mechanic than just broken levels...
Pushing a recursive puzzle outside of itself is quite nice
oh this slaps, can't wait for it to be finished!
This game is incredible
I can't wait to play this.
That was amazing
I don't think you had much to explain, the game really explains itself good enough.
this game looks really good
Ludum Dare 23 winner: Fracuum. Theme was "Tiny world," so the guy made a fractal-styled world. Each level only contains one other level in its center, which contains another level, which contains another.
It's like The World's Hardest game, but with a gun.
This is trippy as hell.
Oh this game looks so sick
2:13 'I might aswell stem the recursion trend'
Or should we say, recure it :)
This guy is like, really good at puzzles.
thats a nice game i want to play the full version im hyped
i cant wait for this!
I appreciate how with a lot of puzzles with recursion and time travel and whatnot it kinda ends with you picking a perspective to view it from and then kind of ignoring the special parts. But this seems to FORCE you to think outside that
This is a game in a game all over again
this is so trippy
This looks fun and is a lot more easier to understand than boba
so basically in levels in levels in levels, when you move, you Move, and when you Move, you MOVE
Imagine how trippy the recursion would look in 4k or even 8k
when the level inside a level thing started my brain started hurting
puzzle game of the year for me
Oh god... My head is hurting... its hangover? I'm seeing so many of them!
This is a really cool game!
this is very trippy
Most trippy thing ever
Love the UA-cam exclusives
whoever designed this game is a genius.
This is like watching scale of the universe
I think this has inspiration
You should try dyo, it is a coop game but you can also play it solo and is a really creative concept that has some really mind melting puzzles
btw long time fan loving all the vids!
Came expecting something like"a game within a game within a game... Wasn't disappointed
THIS IS WHAT YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT DURING THE ROOM 3
so disappointed he didn't push the level out of itself at 11:25
