Thank goodness that people have saved and put videos like this on the internet. It’s a way to keep these talented and beautiful people (performers and the sweet girls in the audience) remembered and alive forever.
@Mel Wood81 Yes, there are many. Just search The Skyliners. If you find some of the 2000s PBS Doo Wop specials, like Do Wop 50 and 51, etc. You will find Donna over may years. Personally, I and the other guys that comment on those performance drule over her. The Drummer, Mark Groom is her husband. He was a member first. Also, there are at least 3 videos, one or two Janet Vogel singing "I Can Dream" and two of Donna singing the song. The one where Donna is in the gold lama dress is the better of the two. Enjoy and let me know what you think, my friend.
This was truly one of the most beautiful songs ever written. There wasn't much choreography in this video performance, but the talent was certainly there. RIP Jimmy Beaumont and Janet Vogel as well.
Agreed. Not sure why they chose that decor and those outfits at the time, but what a truly lovely song. Jimmy Beaumont really had a phenomenal sounding voice. I could listen to it all day long.
@@JB-zo7ln "Not sure why they chose that decor and those outfits at the time," One reason would be that westerns were very popular in those days. Another reason would be that the scene and performance was part of either a movie or stage play. When they do this, it's part of their marketing plan to get people interested in the movie or play. It's still done today; people just don't realize it when it happens.
I was 12 y/o, in 7th grade as I watched this in the spring of '59. What a time it was to be young ! RIP, to all Skyliners. -------------------MJL, 77 y/o
My son is in radio in California, knowing that this is my absolute favorite song, on my 60th birthday 12 years ago, he did an interview with Jimmy Beumont , and he had Jimmy call me and what a surprise, he taped the interview. About a year later the Skyliners came to Las Vegas for a show, where I live and we had chance to visit a bit. Rest in peace Jimmy. Thanks for your great music and memories.
Just awesome. Everything about this song is great. Music was so much better back then. Could you imagine anyone saying they don't like this song? They must have known right from the start that this was going to be a Hall of Fame megahit. And what a feeling that must have been for Jimmy and the group.
One of the most superb songs of 1950s. It's wonderful that these music clips of the time exist. Much respect for such talented groups. Song featured in George Lucas movie American Graffiti.👍💫🌟✨
I am 58 and only just found this song today after binge watching The Twilight Zone season 2. Last song on the last episode. Had not heard it before but now it is in my collection.
Janet Vogel Rapp had one of the most beautiful female voices of all time when paired with the rest of the Skyliners. Somehow the group just clicked with each other.
This song takes me way back when life was easy and your friends were really your friend. This songs brings my yesterdays that were so precious. Oh my. If only.
I have the album & the single. I also have had the privilege of seeing this marvelous group in person two times. One of my favorite songs ever. Sung perfectly by Jimmy, Jan & the group. Why aren’t they in the rock and roll hall of fame??
This truly is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and song by this group can you only imagine what the children of the last 4 decades would be like if they had this music instead of the junk that they've been forced to listen to...

Rest in peace Jimmy Beaumont. I did not know that the great Jimmy Beaumont had died! This bad news causes me great sadness. Another great voice that is going to sing to God! It can’t be, the very big ones go. Rest in peace Jimmy. A thousand thanks for your voice and for "Since I Don’t Have You", this song so nostalgic and so special for me. Now it will be even more. Good trip, Master Jimmy Beaumont. Forever Jimmy and his Skyliners, who already cross the sky for eternity.
Reyna Zarate I love this song I a savant because my father drove me to school everyday singing cbsfm 101.1 Nyc station. Taught me everything I know. What a voice he had. Love the part since I dooooooooont have youuuuuu youuuuuu youuuuuu youuuuuuu youuuuuu yoiuuuu youuuuu youuuu youuuuuu is this the Lawrence wells show? Why are they dressed like that?!?!
This song has so much soul ... I was shocked to see the video/group being all white for the first time recorded 1959 and then a hit in 1960!? I thought this was a Motown sound but I know they were ahead of their time ... This song touches my soul ... Love it
This is one of the greatest tunes ever!! Danced to this many times and dreamed to it just as many. Kids today just don't have a clue... Soundtrack of my youth 🎼 🖤
RIP also to female Skyliners singer Janet Vogel-Rapp (who’s lovely soprano ends this song) she became addicted to pain meds and sadly shot herself in 1980, at only 37 years old.
This is fabulous. I've had that song on the brain for decades, and I always figured it was a black doo wop group. Excellent writing, singing, and arrangement. Totally love it !
Me too! I remember it from the American Graffiti soundtrack and pictured performers like the Platters or Flamingoes who were also featured on the album. Now that I've seen them, it's hard to imagine.

I heard this song on the radio but was too young to remember it. My Mom told me I would put down my toys and try to keep time with the drums and piano. I was 16 when my Mom's sister Jerry took me to see the first showing of American Graffiti in 1973, I chuckled at the dress style for the guys but fell in love with the music, especially Since I Don't Have You! I still love this song in December of 2021!!!
The stage dress is indeed unable for this great group . But fantastic to see the very young Jimmy Beaumont and the ,early passed, Janet Vogel . Thanks for upload that timeless Video, Sir !
Do not talk to me while this is playing.....
Say it like you mean it skeeter🙏😝tell them again and make believers out of all of them! What’s early 1959 without this song??☺️

They are absolutely brilliant aren't they. ❤❤❤.
they're chewing gum with their mouths open
The female falsetto in this song is an iconic moment in rock history
I love her part so much
Janet was great, but after her passing, Donna Groom also did a wonderful rendition of Janet's falsetto for decades, as well.
@Mel Wood81 I am not disagreeing with you. I simply feel that Donna was a very good choice for the job. She sang with the Skyliners for some 40 years.
