I can't believe you didn't mention fentanyl in this one. Maybe it's just because it's a given, or because you consider it an opioid and those aren't anything new... In group the other day we were given a paper from the nih talking about how big carfentanil and fentanyl are getting. They're even mixing it with illicitly produced benzos now here in KC apparently. They're crystallizing these chemicals and coloring them for branding purposes. The reason I think this is so important is because with the power of these meds, especially when mixed with other depressants such as Benzodiazepines, even the smallest mistake on the manufacturers side could lead to the death of anyone who comes in contact with it. Fentanyl is measured in mcg instead of mg for a reason. Not to mention they're even using carfentanil now too. I'm so glad I'm in recovery because I don't think I'd have survived this new opioid renaissance.
