What do think about service Myway cf that give a Static Public IP and Domain name for any device in any network? More than Dynamic DNS. UDP also working.
It's always a pleasure to hear OTW's opinion of the industry along with yours, David. A little over a year ago I was lucky to be able to turn on a computer. Now I can say I understand more than the average user. There is still a long long way to go for me to get where I want to be! Please keep producing amazing information and references!! It's always a pleasure to hear you two speak
Huge fan of the "Hack like a..." series. It's not in depth of how to do each section that's covered, but it's great to get the mind thinking about ways things are done.
Most of the books recommended on this video are basic to mid level books. Can you make a episode about advanced level hacking books/courses or platforms? It will help us a lot.. BTW it was a excellent episode. I think this video is enough to make dictions about buying hacking books for beginners. Thanks man, thanks a lot....👌
The three years I invested in the university are all useless, am finding your channel a great resource and am starting afresh. Thanks this is great work 🙏
I would love to see a part 2 video with all of the comment suggestions. Y’all should have included Open Source Intelligence Techniques (9th edition) by Michael Bazzell. I’m only 3 chapters in and it’s phenomenal. OSINT is a good sub-genre of hacking.
Just bought Linux Basics for Hackers and also Network Basics for Hackers. Linux basics came in today. The other will get here tomorrow. Im studying to become a Network Enginner and Administrator but I cant help but be interested in hacking as well! cant wait to start reading!
I believe it was OTW that recommended the Nicole Perlroth book, "This is How They Tell Me the World Ends" which I've finished and I must say it was a true eye-opener, for sure! So many links in there to PDF reports, YT videos and what have you, wish I could get hold of the PDF version to copy and paste those links! Thanks to David and OTW for this awesome insight and keep up the good work ;-)
always love to see inspiration video from David, he asked the question what we are thinking as beginner in this field , that's why we love to see David, lots of love from Pakistan.
If OTW says it's good, go for it! His book "Linux Basics for Hackers" is so simple and easy to understand that I would have all people that publish books go thru him for review first!
Great video as usual guys. As for recommendations how about some content on the defense side of the game. Such as hyperjacking prevention, detection and reclamation. Or kernel hardening and firewall best practices. Threat detection and system scanning for compromise I'm sure would keep folks glued to the screen.
I like Ethical Hacking. Recent (2021) and goes beyond just beginner level stuff. Covers some things I haven't seen covered in other books (and I have a ton of 'em). No Starch Press...of course! Edit: author is Daniel G. Graham.

Great video David, and thanks to OccupyTheWeb. My library is going to have a few more additions soon. As an owner of Linux basics for hackers, I can confirm it's an excellent book.
Ive been out of IT and network administration for about 20 years and I appreciate these videos. To quote John Wick, "Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back." Could you do an interview with Deviant Ollam about social engineering?
I've read many Hacking books, and OTW is very good. I recommend Mastering Kali Linux for Advanced Pen Testing, 4th Edition, by Vijay Kumar Velu. Also, Advanced Penetration Testing by Will Allsop. There is a considerable entertainment market for Hacking courses, videos, and books. Most are pure entertainment, and the hacks and payloads no longer work.
The book that has special place in my heart will always be "Hacking: The Art of Exploitation" by Jon Erickson. I am excited to see if featured here. I would definitely recommend it, even if some content is superseded. A plus also is that you get to practice C, great to know for all things hacking
I'd like to know how OTW began his journey into what he does 'today'? Would he recommend that path to others or would he give a different way of going about it either fully or at certain 'crossroads'?

Hello David, I just love it. Thank you for introducing ppl like OTW. I like his style of speaking, presenting information and his level of expertise. He became my favourite hacker to follow (after you ofc :) :)). I have some ideas for future video. What are recommended books, for certification path mentioned in previous video. I see the problem with the cisco certifications and "official" cisco books for certifications that there are exam questions which are not covered in book. Is it only cisco specific "issue" or other vendors like compTIA or INE have similar "issues" that "official" book is not enough to learn for certification exam? Thank you
Always more new ideas about books to read, David, you are really gonna make my brain overheat and blow, thank you for your always good quality content.
As a total know-nothing beginner as of September I've read Pentesting Blueprint. Today is my last chapter of Linux Basics for Hackers and I'm hoping to dive into Black Hat Python and then maybe I can say I know a little something to start something.
Always cool to have the master OTW in your videos Mr. David, also thank you so much for your recommendations, I thing there are really usefull, I will start with one or two. thank you very much !
I'd suggest the book " @ Large: The Strange Case of the World's Biggest Internet Invasion '. Not a how-to, but a very interesting case that changed the face of modern cyber-security

Thank you so much for your videos and courses. You are the reason why I have changed my habits a lot towards cybersecurity. I am learning more than ever and I am so thirsty for knowledge
Amazing video Mr Bombal, I like your channel. cause it always gives very lucrative contents. As you said in the video, I would really want to know the order of the books, I have no idea how it might be, but it will be excellent
Teaching people hacking is like handing someone an arsenal and hope they are good person and does the right thing. And update able ebooks should be a thing.
Yes. This may be a good one to start with: The Pentester Blueprint by Phillip L. Wylie and Kim Crawley: amzn.to/3WIoGP4 or start with Linux for hackers as OTW recommends.
Think they are especially good for beginners. Gray Hat Hacking is like a guide to become a hardcore hacker and it will refer to other books which you should read. Great reference guide in my opinion. Lot of the books has been showcased on the channel already, like Black Hat Python, and you basically need a bit of Python and and the willingness to learn.
Hello David great video as always! I have a question regarding breaking into cybersecurity. Are the books listed in the description of the video in a "good" order to read them? Thank you in advance.
Hey David, Could you please OTW after starting to study these books. How to practice it. In Online platforms like Hack the box or Try hack me or Hacker arise. Which online practising platforms will be good. If a video done on this it would be helpful
One of my cousins was one of the collaborative Arthur's for gray hat... There's a book called anti-virus bypass techniques, an the sister book privilege escalation techniques by Picket and Coding for Penetration Testers

Linux Basics for Hackers was my first book!!
Second time watching this episode 🔥😘
Thank you Teacher 😃.
Teaching people hacking is like handing someone an arsenal and hope they are good person and does the right thing. And update able ebooks should be a thing.
put most these books on my wish list, thanks a lot! :)
David are these books good as well for beginners in cyber security industry?
Yes. This may be a good one to start with: The Pentester Blueprint by Phillip L. Wylie and Kim Crawley: amzn.to/3WIoGP4 or start with Linux for hackers as OTW recommends.
@@davidbombal thank you david 🙂
Think they are especially good for beginners. Gray Hat Hacking is like a guide to become a hardcore hacker and it will refer to other books which you should read. Great reference guide in my opinion. Lot of the books has been showcased on the channel already, like Black Hat Python, and you basically need a bit of Python and and the willingness to learn.
@@dawidvanstraaten thank you i will surely look at those as well🙂
Nice video David but waiting to see you interview networkchuk
Hello David great video as always! I have a question regarding breaking into cybersecurity. Are the books listed in the description of the video in a "good" order to read them? Thank you in advance.
What is your opinion on. The Hacking exposed books?
Hey David, Could you please OTW after starting to study these books. How to practice it. In Online platforms like Hack the box or Try hack me or Hacker arise. Which online practising platforms will be good. If a video done on this it would be helpful
Dear OTW, which Security Certs are best and which are worst? For beginners, novice, and advanced!
One of my cousins was one of the collaborative Arthur's for gray hat...
There's a book called anti-virus bypass techniques, an the sister book privilege escalation techniques by Picket and Coding for Penetration Testers
