I have never been so impressed with a young wrestling Podcaster as much as I am with James Romero. His knowledge of the history of Pro Wrestling is astonishing for such a young man who was not even born in the USA. Something I wish many who comment on this channel would do good to emulate.
I am most taken with his humble and gracious ability to highlight others who speak with him as he never tries to steal the spotlight or put himself over at another's expense.
It is for this reason I respect Mr. Romero's opinion above all other presenters of wrestling podcasts, and equally with his multiple co-hosts who have spent many years in the business. And I encourage him to step forward even more than he has and give his opinion even more than he does.
I am a wrestling fan who went to his first match at 8 years old in 1966 to watch the Mighty Igor face Verne Gagne for the AWA World Title. And at 66 I wish I carried myself with as much class and style as James Romero does when he conducts his inciteful and in-depth interviews with Stevie Richards or Dutch Mantel or many others.
And there is a reason many of the greats of wrestling talk with James and want to be interviewed by him. Because they know that James knows his stuff and will treat them with respect. (And word gets around fast about someone of character like that.)
So thank you James for the great content you provide us wrestling fans and for being such an all around stand up guy.

This really could be The Stevie Richards Show With James Romero. I sense that Stevie would be open to it and if anything it might help with the whole "show" angle they are going for. I get why he might not want to do it. If I was in his shoes, I would be extra mindful of the perception that he is inserting himself into the show instead of helping, but really I agree with you. In terms of communicating the facilitator role visually, if done right that wouldn't be an issue. Stevie seems to do better with someone to play off of. And if they could get a third guy like Jonas on Rene's show, this could really work. James is a key part of that success.

@@david-468 I figured. But it doesn't even need to be visual. It can be presented within the show. Like part of the introduction, but really that's what it is already. To not embrace it is really a disservice to what they are going for. Now if they want a podcast, nothing needs to change, but I see what Stevie has in mind, and why he draws the distinction between the two. Anyway, that's just my 2¢. Maybe a happy accident will come from James's reluctance. We'll see. This is still an excellent... Shodcast?? Whatever it's still cool!

I am really happy that the host addressed Stevie self depreciating when talking about his value. You have decades of experience in the business across many companies you worked for, your wrestling analysis was amazing and I wish it came back (and we know many wrestlers were getting value from it). It reminds me of the short run of podcast William Regal had, him sharing his experiences, match reviews and stories were insightful and 100% from his perspective. It's refreshing.
You and Maven have created value for yourselves and redefining what "life after WWE" looks like. Please be proud of yourself and speak better about yourself Stevie. PLEASE!

I have been listening to everyone from the biggest stars to backstage people or perennial enhancement hands talk about the wrestling business for many years. Nothing has given me more disdain or made me lose more respect for the business than hearing Stevie talk about it so honestly. Many people want to cover for the business in order to protect future political and career opportunities, many also only see their side or are quite jaded and it's clear to me that their perspective is not one i want to adopt lol. Stevie is a unique case though in so many different ways but when he's talking you know, without a doubt, that hes being as honest and transparent as possible and equally as important, that you're listening to someone who has a great sense of self awareness and if also has a great talent for self evaluation that he puts to good use so for me his statements, stories, and opinions carry a lot of weight. The way the business treats good honest hard working people like trash and how they decide they will treat people soley based on their place in the card, which is majorly based on how they are aligned politically is sickening and absolutely disgusts me. As long as there is any other way to make a living there is no amount of money or game that could make me wake up every day and mistreat people just because it's the popular thing to do and I'm amazed at the number of people who are not only willing to do it, but take pleasure in doing so....

Makes me mad that legends like Stevie put so much work in and spent their whole lives on the road for 75k a year and today they are making 350k or more for working 1-2 days a week and barely even wrestling. In my opinion, the guys in Stevie`s era were also on a whole different level in the ring. Everyone was able to go and wrestlers had chemistry because they were wrestling each other all year.

James: I wonder what they did with all those samples.
    WWE: eBay
It's funny how when Stevie "puts himself over" it is in the service of pointing out his weakness with a certain style of wrestling. 😂
And also on the off-chance that Stevie is reading, it is inspiring that you aimed to do the thing that is in the service of people and not money. I'm not suggesting that you don't want to be financially successful or even desire money, but that is a valuable thing. And also, we get that you don't want to misrepresent your role in wrestling history, but I feel like when you lower yourself in speech, that is exactly what you are doing, though not intentionally. So the fuck what that you didn't draw Dwayne Johnson or Steve Austin numbers. Very few have, but any business needs people like you. James is right, you can sometimes be too self-deprecating. You dont only have value within the wrestling world, but through the platform of UA-cam, you have the potential to reach non-wrestling fans and give them valueable insight. Thank you for not giving up on this thing. It would have very easy to do.

Re: J-Tu - It looks like a legit injury. So long as it can be treated with rehabilitation, it shouldn't be a concern for his character. Most fans understand what kayfabe is, a suspension of disbelief, and are intelligent enough to know these guys aren't really indestructible. I wish him well in his recovery.

49:56 Was Stevie implying that they were collecting his piss so often because they were giving it to other wrestlers who were juicing? Because they knew that Stevie definitely wasn’t juicing and they needed guaranteed-clean piss for others to use?
Am I way off base or am I understanding the hints correctly? I did mention the “whizzinator”, so I think I’m understanding it correctly.

How do schools make money through booking their students? Is it a large percentage and for how long? When they get signed does the school take a cut?

Stevie, love your show man but why'd you have to start a brand new channel for it?
Wouldn't it make sense to have started this show on the channel with already 100k subscribers?

Roman clearly gets on the stuff for mania each year. You can tell because around the rumble he will be getting pretty rough around the stomach area, then looks bigger and better than ever at mania. Brock certainly isn’t the only one

Hey Stevie, I love your content and always here to see another philadelphian succeed. Let me offer another perspective. I think they drug tested you so many times because you were reliable to pass, and they had quota to meet, so they knew they could count on you.

One problem with steroids is also within society. On one hand Steroid are considered bad and illegal, which is understandable. But then you expect athlets in competition to reach a certain level and look a certain waym otherwise those guys have no chance to succeed. And that's pretty much a contradiction. So the solution would be to put less pressure on those athlets.
But that's easierthan said in a competition orientated society.
The situations that Stevie discribes thise "if you like to have this you have to do that". Nobody tells you to take steroids, but still its the ticket to get that job. And that's the F-ed up thing here. It should not be needed!
