I drove a 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS to the 99W Drive-in Theater in Newberg, OR that has some of the vintage intermission ads as well as movie classics from both the 1970's and 1980's. Awesome drive-in theater place in Oregon! 😊
I love these old intermission ads. My favorite memory of the Drive-In Theatre was a 1967 dusk-to-dawn show in Cleveland, Ohio, James Bond All-Night, featuring the first five James Bond movies starring Sean Connery!
In 1982 I worked in the concession stand at a drive-in when I was 15. The projector guy. Show me how to switch over the projectors at the end of the reel when the cigarette Burns comes on.😊
This is truly an era that I wished was still around. Watching this brought back so many memories of that yesterday era. I still can remember watching a double feature with my family as a kid back in the day. I remember we watched, Slivious, (I think i spelled it wrong) and the Jeff Bridges movie version of King Kong. I was only five years old at that time, but still remember going to see them at the drive in. It is sad that time in our history is gone, but the memories will last a lifetime. I definitely believe life was much better back then. We were not so divided or angry at each other all the time. Watching this video and that special period in our time, makes me wonder what has happened to us, and the direction we ended up going. Still thank you for posting it was a pleasure to relive some of those golden days from that forgone era.
Thanks for the kind comments. One of my earliest, vaguest memories was being at a drive-in movie while my parents watched 'Jeremiah Johnson'. I spent many a summer night hanging out with friends at the Georgetown Drive-In in southern Indiana. It still exists and I try to visit whenever I'm back home!! One of my favorite moments happened when they had a late night showing, following 'Cowboys & Aliens' (ugh) of an original print of 'American Graffiti'. It's like that movie was made for drive-in viewing. To keep the mood alive... I've recently purchased an outdoor movie screen for my backyard and I always like to kick off the evening with these Drive-In ads.
my brother and i were very young and always fell asleep, but not after the 10 minutes to show time reel, it was the best part of going to the drive in to us
well, number one, it was long to give people time to go spend money at the concession stand, and number two there's a blu ray out with about TWELVE HOURS worth of these called HEY FOLKS! IT"S INTERMISSION TIME. Something Weird put them out years ago and now AFGA released them all on two discs.
Hi, was curious if I'd be able to clip the first minute of your video for our local high school's senior class's prom party? We are doing a Drive-In theme and thought this would be a fun entrance for them. Thanks much! Carole

Wow, what great memories. Another memory was watching people search for their car after coming out of the concession stand 🤣🤣🤣🤣; including myself.
🤣 Me too!
@@shawnstuffAhh Yes Puerto Rican drive-in

We used to always call food areas "refreshment stands"....lets bring that back🤭
I always started to fall asleep halfway through the second show!
I miss the old drive in theaters.
We only have one theater that
Survived!
New moon, stardust and showboat are gone!
My old hometown still has one... but it's 600 miles away. Hopefully, I'll get back there this summer.
@@insider-c4rI live just across Lake Ontario in Canada. Maybe I'll take a drive down there... Do they allow big pickup trucks?

Loved the concession stand, great burgers & popcorn!
There were a lot more horns playing in stuff back then 😂.... love it. Great times!
Thank you so very much!
Amazing these clips looked just as dated when I saw them 60 years ago.
GREAT MEMORIES!! WHAT IN THE HELL HAPPENED TO SOCIETY????
Good question. 🙂
Libs and Biden is what happened!

Covid managed to get people to go to drive-ins don't believe me? Search it on UA-cam
Funny, I was thinking the exact opposite
Man this is a really long intermission
😂
The "Go To Church!" PSAs did weigh it down somewhat. 😅

These should be timestamped.
In the PDA trailer, the wrong word was used-it should be affect and not effect.
Burns O Matic....^^
Literally...🥵
Hey it 2023 we can remake a new one
You'd think the pandemic would have brought them back, but except for some temporary pop ups, not so much.
I think the sales for outdoor home theaters probably spiked during pandemic! I know I love mine. This is what I play before SHOWTIME!!

Did they really serve soda in such tiny cups and with no lids or straws?
That's why there wasn't as many fat people back then. Compared to today's gallon tubs of soda today 😅
