I love the intermission ads. Even when i am running errands, i turn on my phone to the UA-cam drive-in ads and have it come through my speakers in my SUV.
while people were piling into the concession stand my mom would pop open a cooler from the trunk and haul out sodas, beer, sandwiches chips candy, we'd sit there and watch people drop their drinks on the way back to the car. thanks for that memory of the Tijeras Drive-in Albuquerque
Interesting thing about the national anthem was I had a neighbor who was a retired Air Force sergeant and at the base theater would play it before the beginning of the film.
@@PlasmaCoolantLeak yes. They did the same with his kids when they took them to the base movie theater for the Saturday and Sunday matinee which consists of movies which were children and families would enjoy watching.

I JUST LOVE this stuff... thank you for being here & we want MORE! :-) And I sure could use some of those hot dogs & pizza right now! These also tend to give me the munchies....

I love watching these old movie previews and concession ads! Takes me back to a much simpler time. Why can't life be like that today?

I do the exact same thing!
I’ll take a grilled frank, an order of fries, tall soda and a butternut bar please 😊❤

Awesome. You're mom was the best!
“Go for it” was literally decades ahead of its time
Food commercials typically dont work on me, but dang, I'm hungry after seeing this!
I don't care much for the upcoming movie previews. I love the food intermission ads the best.
Why "Fireball Jungle" never won an Oscar remains a mystery.
LMAO -- yeah, the performance by the guy that plays Cateye Mears is enough to secure a statuette.

I remember that. The anthem would come up, the audience stood at attention.

Donuts, sandwiches, Toddy & Flips. They sure had some crazy snacks back in heyday of the Drive-In Theater.
"Toddy"- from the makers of "Ovaltine".
That gal in the Flips commercial is a looker. Sweet.
@@fromthesidelines I remember the Ovaltine commercials with New York Jets football legend Joe Namath.
They had the national anthem before movies?! That must have been a pain in the drive in. There's no way I could stand up in my car.
+SantaDog81 I think in the closing the National Anthem had been played.
WELL, IF YOU WANT TO, JUST LEAVE YOUR CAR AND LEAVE THE SPEAKER ON THE POST.
Thank you Carol for taking a joke seriously. Your all caps just made me realize the severity of making people laugh.
Not if you stepped out from your car to stand then after the anthem was over got back in
@@tsitracommunications2884 Yes, that's been brought up before, and my stance still hasn't changed in five years. I'm trapped in my tiny car.

What year was that intermission set done?
With voices by Daws Butler and music by John Seely.

damn! those hot dogs look GOOOOD!
Love they opening advertising.
The music behind that opening montage is very nice. I have heard it elsewhere -- in an advert for a fireworks show at the drive-in.
Alan Mixon in Fireball Jungle sounds like he was a major influence on Matthew McConaughey.
That film also featured John Russell (Lawman) as the villain, Nero.
GREAT MEMORIES!
Thanks for sharing this.
GO FOR IT !! and stock the reels for Fail Army. LOL

31:07 rare 1953 intermission found
It may have been rare at some point, but now it's in every other intermission ad compilation.
Fireball Jungle -- what a trailer! 13:00
What a freaky-ass movie. Many thumbs up.
Looks like something John Waters would have cooked up. 🤣

Don't know his proper name but I have seen him referred to as "SquareCat", for obvious reasons.

Pity they never caught on.
