  • The pain started when 22-year-old Madelyn Morneault got her first period at 13 and became unbearable by her sophomore year of college. Doctors blamed depression, anxiety, and grief-until surgery showed something different.

Can agree, when I’m on my cycle i it is always awful, taking birth control literally is the only think that helps not even medicine

Try Endovan supplements, it is tad expensive but it has been life changing. The pain you feel aka hot searing nerve pain that shocks you like contractions gone within a month. Also avoid dairy or the very least 2 weeks before your period

I went to the ER for my menstrual cramps, they were so bad I fainted and vomited, and they just said MAYBE YOURE OVERREACTING. I was fucking PISSED, my mom was too, since she had the same menstrual cramps when she was my age. Doctors need to believe us more, especially if we phisically show the amounts of pain we are going through

I get cramps so bad every month that I puke and pass out and can’t really eat or move for the first 2 days of my period and I go to the hospital very often, but they won’t diagnose me with anything, they just keep saying it’s normal and they give me IV fluids and pain meds and watch me for a few hours and then send me home. They won’t send me to a gynaecologist, they have given me A MILLION pee tests, blood tests, X-rays and ultrasounds.

Going to the ER is the #1 problem. ER is for life threatening emergencies, and ER doctors won’t be of much help. You need to see a specialist.

This just goes to show that the health system sucks so much. You can’t even depend on them for help. I’ve been struggling for years with my menstrual cycle and today has been the worse day of my life. Usually when I’m on my period I get cramps, but I take a few ibuprofen and then I’m fine. But today I took ibuprofen and it wasn’t working at all. I’ve been in constant pain all day to the point my body is shaking uncontrollably and I threw up twice. I’ve never thrown up when on my period before. I went to a OBGYN and they all say the same thing. “Probably you have pcos”. And I’m so sick of doctors miss diagnosing me. Just take the tests and figure out what’s the issue. Not sure why is that so hard. I hate my period 😢

Same goes with me.. sometimes if i take meds, the pain will settle down in an hour but sometimes it becomes overwhelming and these days i throw up as well. And i have done ultrasonographies many times and the only diagnosis is pcos. I would suggest you to check your hormone levels like your thyroid and other hormones along with haemoglobin. Also a lot of people say they have been though a lot but by making lifestyle changes for a really long period of time, it helps. And i have observed this too, you need to follow a very strict diet and followup with a nutritionist after doing a blood test, am sure that is going to help to some extent. Because i have seen some girls they will undergo surgery for pcos or endo and then it comes back. It will come back after certain stage. Try to do yoga and follow a strict lifestyle with no dairy product and avoid red meat.

Yet another entire day wasted. Please help me. I'm in late 20s. Not coping whatsoever. In unbearable agony. Can't move. How many more years of this undiagnosed hell must I endure. I get absolutely no NHS help despite explaining in plain English to doctors how very extreme my pains and other symptoms. You've no idea how how painful and time consuming I'm finding it even to sit up and type. God angels universe medical professional someone anyone please help me heal and or help me die but please end this curse I deserve a better life. Thanks in advance.

Hi! Take a deep breathe, its going to be okay. If you are experiencing extreme period cramps, there’s a high chance you could have endometriosis (Tissue grows outside the uterus, rather then inside it). If you feel that it is endometriosis, there are multiple options to check, such as a pelvic exam, ultrasound, etc. Your going to be okay. As well as this, it might be nice to get a therapist, they help drastically with improving your mental health, and its really nice to talk to someone when we feel alone. If your doctor does not listen to you, please please please get a new doctor. You are not alone. You are going to be okay. I believe in you 💗

Right now I just went through the worst period pain ever I was crying so bad it felt like I was giving birth I threw up so much and almost fainted and it was so so bad I was rolling over anywhere just begging for the pain to stop but I remembered I had pills so I took that and it helped so much after 10 minutes it went away I suggest taking pills if you really need them I’m so sorry nobody should go through this it’s too terrible.

If over the days you wake up to the same pain you felt today, I suggest maybe you should see a doctor. But if the terrible pain doesn’t come back, it should be fine. my countries doctors says "No point doing surgery, it will grow back, its incurable" They tell you "We can give you stronger painpills" the only thing that ever helped me was treating for adrenal fatigue, the pain went 100% but the medical care wanted tests taken and told me to sto the treatment one week before the tests and since it didnt help anymore when I went back on them. We're all fucked.

I have pain for almost whole month. I couldn't even stand. Today while taking shower I noticed nail scratches and I didn't feel that.
