Thanks for the shout out Coop! Glad to see you didn’t have a heart attack so you could give us your review 😉 😆
As the Videographer for REP on this particular launch, I’m glad you noticed all of the small details of the Pepin 🔥
*Reppin
I watched the launch video an unreasonable amount of times, you did a fantastic job on it! Whoever picked the music also gets an A+.
Were you also the cameraman on the flag reveal? Thanks!!!
@@NCW01 right the *Reppin haha
@@veterancustomwoodworx9858 Yes sir! What an awesome flag you made for us🔥
Hey Coop ! The 2.5lbs add-on you have was my 1st prototype which has been fined tuned since then. There's no issues with the stainless pop-pin on the 2.5lbs and the 1.25lbs neither. I'm glad you still love the Dumbbell. Stay tuned for what's coming up next !!
David.
Bro you’re asking the guy who made them what do you think he will say 😂
Will whatever is next make anyone regret pre-ordering the Rep x Pepin adjustable dumbbells?
Imposter, i know who the real pepindumbell is, and its not you, David.
@@R-py6uf ?
Love it. Mine are awesome. I wish I had held off for this version though.
Thank you, coop for influencing the market in the correct direction.
Can’t wait for the secondary market to pop with everyone’s old adjustable dumbbells after they upgrade.
@@special-s3376that's me! I'm gonna sell my powerblocks with steel knurled handles once I get one in hand
I got the email notification about these and was immediately excited for your take, and review!!
Their collaboration stand is in the works as well.
Look forward to that. Considering getting the new Straydog stands for my rack. - Coop
@@GarageGymReviews I was considering that as well. Pre ordered these at open yesterday and called Rep shortly after about stand. It’ll be the step in style and should be under $200 shipped. They couldn’t say more than that on price when I asked. Will use my Nuo stand for time being. As always I appreciate the work you put in!
@@GarageGymReviewswhat stands are you referring to? Don't see them on stray dog site.
Coop check out the oak club DB stands that attach to their weight tree
Titan’s stand might be an option for some too. But hopefully REP puts out a better stand with their collab than the Pepin stand
I've bought a lot of gym equipment where premium products don't really offer that much more noticeable improvement from more budget-friendly options, but the Pepins are the one thing that is definitely worth the splurge. They're so much better than everything else out there and will last a lifetime. Like Coop, I actually prefer them to fixed dumbbells. The knurling is better and I actually love grabbing the rails for some exercises like overhead tricep extensions. If anyone is on the fence about getting these, just do it. You won't regret it at all.
Same here
How’s the balance feel? I know coop touched upon it, but in your personal experience how similar is it to a traditional dumbbell?
@sonofashepherd6668 I think the balance is bang on. Even when you offset 5lbs to one side, just shift your hand a bit and it's not noticeable
Was literally about to pull the trigger on the trulap....now I'm waiting for these.
I'm wishing I'd waited now. I pulled the trigger back around December.
Same! Was literally looking at reviews this Easter. Happy I didn't commit 😊
Got the matte black nuobells 3 days ago cause I was tired of waiting 😭
@@Oli-Ravioli lol true. Going to see a lot of adjustable dumbbells on marketplace now that these dropped. They are amazing.
Congrats on 500k!!
The Adonis, Ares 2.0, and now this... they just took my next 5 paychecks. REP is dominating the strength market.
$200 per 20 pound expansion plate set (for each pair of dumbells, so 40 pounds in total). That means it's actually not any cheaper to buy the full weight all at once. This actually is a huge attraction for beginner/intermediate lifters who are starting lighter and are trying to decide between the highest weight and the lower/lowest weight set to start. I actually love that there's no discount for buying the full weight set compared to the cheaper set plus the additional plates!
It really is on these. 85s would suit pretty much all my needs but if you have to decide upfront or take a huge penalty it makes it hard to pull the trigger. This makes it a no brainer.
LOL 😂, I'll stick with using the same plates on my barbell as I do my dumbells. Only fo - ols waste hundreds on steel.
@@musicman7297Not everyone has room to store plates fo - ol. Some people travel with their equipment. Some people put value on different things too. If you don't want it... don't buy it
@@rayzerot LOL 😂, you can't stack ten pound plates on top of each other, or 5 pound plates or 25 pound plates .... LOL 😂.... but you can afford a set of dumbbells that cost well over a grand ???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Do you even lift weights??????
@@musicman7297Time. Our time must be worth more than yours.
Best thing about pre order is that your money will be protected from inflation 😆
Smart 😂
Tell that to the cybertruck
I will be saving up for these, for now use what I got.
Saw this on rep website and been waiting for GGR vid😂😂
I'm as excited for these as you are. 100% buying these when they actually release.
Super excited!!!! Bought my PowerBlocks in 2006. Awesome upgrade.
REPPIN IS HERE BABY
Ordered mine this morning. Will be shipped by September 3. Hopefully much sooner.
Hey Coop. Your channel, your videos are so great. You’re giving so many of us the gift of health. Better health through better choices. People like you on UA-cam change industries
Nice, thanks Coop!
+1 for naming it the reppin
REPPINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
CONGRATS ON 500K SUBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so close to pulling the trigger last year and had them in my cart, but the shipping cost from Canada alone was the cost of a Nuobell or similar. This is huge.
I'm actually excited as well. The pepins look really good but now teaming up with rep. Can't wait.
I'm calling them Reppins!! Thanks Coop! I can't wait until mine arrive. They look soooo good
I am absolutely preordering the 105lbs set. I currently own the PowerBlock pro Elite 90lbs set and I really love them. However, I am going to sell them and pick these up. Love this.
I pulled the trigger and just ordered them. I’ve been seeing your reviews on adjustable dumbbells and I liked the Pepin, they just cost so to much for me. The reppin is what I can convince my wife to allow me to buy 🤣 also considering you can adjust the weight low for her as well. Thanks for your take
Was waiting for this reaction. ONREAL news
Interesting hot take format. I'm so hyped for these as well. Love the inside info mentioning how Pepins can actually reach 125lb as well 👍.
Great video! Lots of detail as usual from Coop. I do like the Nickel OG look, I wonder if Rep would offer a premium Rep X Pepin with the Nickel but at a lighter start weight
Can you make a video on deadlift platforms, I don’t know if I should buy one or make one or which one is good
I’m in Canada, but as soon as these are out and proven I’m getting them shipped to my US drop location. They look fantastic!!!
When REP (finally) releases their smith-machine attachment for the PR-4000/5000 series - Game Over!
I'm also waiting for that. I think about it so often :(
Why do I have to wait so long? So long......
just curious (my gym doesnt have one) whats the point of a smith machine ive heard people say there "gay" but ive never used one and havent done research so why would you want one over a normal barbell (besides safety maybe...)
Just preordered a 125-pound pair thanks to this video. If Coop is excited about something, I pay attention. Can’t wait to use them.
Yes brother. 🎉
As a fellow Montrealer, I’m very psyched about this.
Yep, I am gonna need these.
I think these are the best adjustable dumbbells we have ever seen on the market and the fact that rep is going to allow for upgrading by buying add on weights really makes getting these a no brainer if it’s within your price range
What about the aluminum and durability?
Pumped for the Reppin!!!
We're still waiting for repfitness to come to Europe 😢😢😢
This is definitely on the top of the list for the gym this year!
watched video. went and preordered. am back now to say this is sweet AF
These look incredible.
Let’s get them reps wit the reppins and keep on pepin
Dang, I just got the Nuobells after watching your last video, and now this comes out.
Lol my nuobells just came in a few days ago😅
I got rid of my 5-100 rubber hex dumbells for the 125lb Pepin FAST. These dumbbells are amazing and I can't wait for the 175lb to come out.
holy shit 175! that's massive.
I just bought 5-100 rubber hex after getting tired of my powerblocks. Why did you prefer pep in?
Men 175? I hope that's not only for you 😂
@nailatiylluf The ease of adjustment and space. 100s are too small for me, the FAST 125 are good for now but I'll be picking up tue 175s when they're released. These FAST dumbbells are built very well and are like no other adjustable dumbbell I've ever seen.
Where have the 175s been announced? Do you know if we get these 125s whether we can add up to the 175s?
I absolutely love this! I would NEVER spend over 2K on adjustable dumbells, but I will most definitely buy these
That’s the power Coop. This will probably be known from now on as The Reppins
Exciting time for home gym. Glad they were able to get the price point down
Wow this might be the new gold standard for adjustable dumbbells
These look awesome! Do they make a stand to put the cradle on?
Just got the snodes. Will upgrade to these in August after they are reviewed
Holy shit this is what I was hoping for when you first showed PEPIN!!
My order is in 💪
Can't wait for your Ares 2.0 review!!!
Coop! Thought of you as soon as I saw these announced. Too bad you helped convert me over to powerblocks long ago. These for sure is what I would go with if I didn’t already have adjustables.
Thanks for the content, can’t wait to see the hands on review!
Enjoy the Powerblocks. Used them for years and loved them! - Coop
@@GarageGymReviews I do! Love the retro look and feel. Maybe when I get to Coop strength I’ll consider splurging on an upgrade 😉
I went with the Poweblock EXP 100's after watching Coop review them a few months ago. Just received them about 2 weeks ago. I'm happy with them. I've never been one to order something new on the market right away. I like to see how they actually perform in use for an extended period. Will the sliding mechanism for weight changes on these jam? I know Coop mentioned in the review that something in his Peppin's is stuck. Just waiting for more people to use them and review them a little more long term. If all looks good I may consider.
I was eyeballing the Pepin for a while. Just pre ordered these. So glad I waited.
Here's hoping they come to Australia, been wanting to replace my powerblocks with these since I saw your original fast series video.
This is sick!
I've had the money and been waiting to pull the trigger on a set of adjustable dumbbells for years and none of them have had it all at this price point. As soon as I saw the price I smashed buy now. I'm so happy that I waited for these at 125lbs per hand rather than settling for nuobells.
I honestly have wanted these since Coop did the first review of Pepin back about a year ago. The only hesitation I have is I will want to do alt DB snatches and I feel though its not an easy task to be able to do that with these
Yeah, the cage could get in the way a bit on db snatches if that's a movement you do a ton of. - Coop
@@GarageGymReviews it might not be a ton, but the cage I feel limits a few other movements. I do think my best is the QuickDraw and then get a couple heavier hex heads if I need them
@@masonharris6961just grap and hold them at the cage instead of the handle.
@@masonharris6961 Yeah, I think everybody is a little overexcited about these just because it's been so long since there's been a good quality entry into the market. These still have cages, require using a cradle, are annoying to change in 5 pound increments, and the ends aren't smooth. Like everything else out there, plenty of room for improvement.
Saw this hit their site yesterday. I really want these, but It's a big price and I already have 90lb powerblocks.
Shipping from Canada to America is INSANE close to 1,000
You gotta love the way Coop pronounces “dinero” 😂
Was ready to pull the trigger and get the rep quick draw, now I have to rethink and decide if I should wait until August.
Bought my Pepins in December. These seem really similar and much less expensive as noted in the video. Kinda wish I had waited, but who knew. Anyway, love the Pepin's. Work well and look awesome!
“The Reppin”. Whoever thought of that you’re a dang genius.
I saw it on other sites before this video, so don't know who first said it.
I think everybody thought of that.
I've got the same Rogue mass storage as Coop, with the dumbbell shelf. I'm guessing these wouldn't store well on that shelf? They have to be stored flat?
I've been looking to replace my powerblocks that max out at 90lbs. I've got my order in, super pumped for September.
I may need these someday. For now, my power blocks will do the trick.
These do look sick. Coop lookin like the third Mario brother with that hat and stash! 😂
Coop! Any chance a review will be coming for that wall mounted Athena ?
Coop, I can’t believe we haven’t heard from you regarding the Aries 2.0 yet 😮. I know there’s only prototype pictures out so far but would love to start talking about it. Thank god they raised the height of the low row and made it a center pulley 🎉
Build quality what is the longest lasting adjustable dumbell?
Powerblock, rep peppin, or nuobell?
I was really debating the REP Quickdraw Dumbbells before these came in my email. Probably gonna wait a bit longer now
Bro I need them now I can’t wait till September. I already maxed out my Nordic tracks
Worth pointing out that the 2600$ on the Pépin website is in Canadian dollar, which is approximately 32 cents US
It’s 74 cents US
Yeah, but they are ~3000CAD with shipping to the US. Even with the conversion rate that’s $2200+ USD so there rep version will be delivered in hand ~$900 less.
@@lukebbuff no, it's $0.32 weren't you paying attention?
😂 as a Canuck.. oww the truth hurts
So glad I never pulled the trigger on nuobells. These are going to be in my future for sure. And that price point is amazing for what these are tbh.
100 % I've been waiting for someone to come out with something that I could actually drop if needed and not feel like I'm going to break it.
Hi garage reviews. I was wondering if you think the marcy eclipse HG7000 machine is any good.
The pricing is amazing ❤❤❤
I'm still thinking of going with the Powerblock Commercial 100s
I have the powerblock 90 pro EXP and am selling them to get these. Powerblock was the best option back in 2020 but with the innovation in adjustables over the past few years they aren’t the best option anymore due to awkward size, balance, and the add on weight lever snagging on clothes during lifts. The only reason I would recommend the powerblocks at this point is if you want to use them in tandem with the powerblock curl bar/straight bar/kettlebell handle.
I got the Powerblock EXP 100's about 2 weeks ago. Happy with the purchase, no ussues with the adder weight latch snagging on my clothing. Powerblock has a proven track record, we'll see how these do in the long run. I know Coop said his Pepin has a jam in one of the pins. These are just too new for me to get right now. Anxious to see reviews in a year or so. If they're over whelmingly positive, I'll probably get them.
I just bought Iron Masters in October 😔. I love them but I definitely would get these now over them. What to do?
$1300... damn. I'm sticking with my Powerblock 90lbs. The added 35lbs would be nice for dumbbell bench press though...
that's wild switching out the eleikos for the pepins, I'll buy em :)
Man if I didn't already have PowerBlock pros with stainless knurling these would be the ones to get.
Shipping date has already changed from August 20 to September 3 just 12 hours after posting.
COOP!, Given the amount of space I have in my workout space, definitely want to be "REP'n the PÉPIN". And the shirt merch that should follow. I'll take my royalties in REP loyalty points.
Coop, any way you can get an affiliate discount code or something? I want to pre-order for my husband as a surprise but shipping to Canada is $246!
I was going to get the Nuobell; but now this changes things. When can we expect a review?
Been wanting to upgrade my Bowflex 552s for like a year now. Constantly waffling on Snode, Nuobell, Rep Quickdraws, Trulap.... They all have some dealbreaker flaw... too bulky, not heavy enough, weird increments, no 5-lb increments, too fragile... I think these are the clear winner for only like $100 more for the 85 pounders. I don't need the 105s or 125s.... at least not in the near future, so I'm glad they can be upgraded as needed.
Those are awesome...hope they sell it in Asia in pairs. You can buy the Rep quick draw one piece( they sell it separately)
Just sent it on these!!
I bough the power blocks last summer and a folding bench ( pB) while doing armed security all summer 7 days a week to get myself out of a finnancial hole adjustable dumbells kept me active and fit while sweating my ass off in az
Woooooo.....wooooo...wooooo!!!!
Looking forward to these. I want to see what you and a couple of others think of them before I buy them.
Plus.. Lifetime Warranty!!!
These will replace my 80lb NuoBells.
Pepin also has a lifetime warranty, but the Reppin is so much better priced.
Will there be a similar quick video on the Ares 2.0? Is the Ares v1 at a 300 buck discount currently a good buy? Etc. thx
Ares 1 at a discount is a great buy. It is still functional and does all the movements of Ares 2.0. I own the original Ares.
@@markhalstead2386 do you have the four our six post? I think a six post would solve the “no incline in rack”’issue. I’m fine inclining from front of the 6 post. I think the low row is not the best, but with the gym pin work around I think it’s not nearly the issue some make it out to be.
@@Realdealbrianfliar I have a 6 post with a 30” front depth. I squat inside and bench outside (with safety spotter arms).
Rep Pepin is a good 80’s action hero name
Just pulled the trigger on the 125 lb Baaaaaddd Booooyys can’t wait to get them in 🙌🏽
They look tuff 🦾
I think their product may compete a little too much but I'd love to see some bulletproof collaborations. The isolator is so cool
Damnit Coop. I already have the Snodes and I love them. But now I am selling them the second I get these in September.
