So you had me sold until the price was revealed. There is so much I can do with $2k. I have the PowerBlock Elite’s that I use almost every day. They are clunky, so I would love a more natural feel when using an adjustable dumbbell. However, I will happily use my 90lb powerblocks that cost me less than a grand. Love the review Coop. You always cover every aspect of the piece of equipment you are reviewing. Love it! Thanks for all the time and energy you put into this. V/R Shane
The 2k shown is canadian. In USD it’s under 1600 which is still a lot
After taxes and shipping the 120s hit 2k USD
Same. Upgraded my PB Elite handles to knurled steel and they are all I want.
Loadable dumbells + 10lbs plates and still have a ton left over for $2k 😂😂😂
"You had me sold until the price was revealed" can sum up 95% of the videos on this channel. They hardly ever review anything worth purchasing despite the quality of the production and the work that goes into each video. So basically hot air.
I'm glad you got your hands on these since you have more dumbbells than I can count. It's been great to see David take the feedback from the community and already make improvements by beveling some of the parts and the new add on plates. I think the only downside is early adapters are the guinea pigs. Solid review my dude.
I have the first gen, but not mad about it, as i use platemates
Hi Brandon, my only wish was that it went lower to like 5lbs. I use 5lbs (powerblock) handle for lots of stretching exercises even some high rep shoulder exercises. But other than that, these look incredible. I have the ironmasters which i use for heavier sets but I’ll be truthful to go even from 60 to 70lbs i sometimes hesitate because I don’t want to change the pins so I end up just staying at 60lbs which I currently leave them at. I have powerblock that go from 5-50lbs. I didn’t care for the 90lb sets cause it felt unbalanced at the heavy weight when doing say chest press even placing the PBs in their nested rack was sometimes cumbersome. These would be similar I suppose but since they are all steel, it would be less prone to breaking unlike the nuobells. So many choices out there now…..gotta decide lol
@@JBS7551 Platemates are awesome and can be added to other training equipment (i.e. functional trainers) to step up in 1.25 lb increments.
@@marucat2797 I now use my ironmasters for 5-20lb work and pepins for anything higher. I started hating changing weights on IMs once the weight got heavy. Was a pain

Another great review, thanks Coop! Cool to see some high quality innovative products coming from Canada.
The pure joy Coop gets @7:29 just using this mechanism is why I love this channel!
Thank you for checking off these and snode! Appreciate it coop!
Amazing review, love the attention to detail. Built like a tank and looks amazing. Hopefully these get popular and the price comes down 💪
Been waiting on the in depth review. Now time to budget for these.
Been waiting for this review. These check off a lot of boxes, but for me would be like spending money on adding a top tier roof top tent to my truck for when I go camping, but I rarely go camping.
Love the look and functionality of these. Definitely will be my next purchase when I outgrow my current PowerBlocks
Been waiting for this review so bad! As a power lifter i was so curious
Awesome review Coop! These check all my boxes. I currently have Iron Masters but will be looking to upgrade to these eventually. I'm happy to pay a premium price for a premium product.
I have both the ironmasters and Pepins, love them both but mainly use the pepins now and IM for lighter movements
Great review as always. These look awesome!
Been waiting for this review
Absolutely love these adjustable dumbells and the design and quality are top notch but for your average home gym guy like myself it’s not very affordable! Great
Review as always!
Excellent review Coop! Holding out for the rumored 160lb version of these...Pepin seems to keep refining and implementing feedback, nice to see this product develop over time.
The 120's are definitely brutes, id bet the 160's would be insane
There's already a 170 and a 200 lbs. Dude.
@@brucebanner3566 Total weight yes, I was referring to per DB weight.
They just announced the 180lb x 2 set coming in the new year. Saving my $100 bills for that set.

i love my plate loaded pepin adjustable dumbbell handles. they will last me a lifetime. i found out about them here, thank you for the reviews.
Wow these look fantastic. I have full 10 - 100 lb dumbbell set and I'm tempted to buy those because they look like the peak of adjustable dumbbells (and 100 lb is getting a bit light for the curls :/)
I bought Power Blocks several years ago, and my set goes 90 lbs. I could have got the expansion to 120 lbs, but I didn't. By the time I was ready to buy the expansion it was no longer available for my model. The moral is --- get the expansion as soon as you can afford to do so.
You dun goofed son
I love the innovation in the dumbbell space. I find myself initially wanting something new, but I keep coming back to my power block pros (5 to 90 with knurled handle) being the best choice for me. (1) I prefer the cage design. It allows me to hang them from daisy chain straps to create a spotting system and a way to get them into position without risk (presses and cross bench pullovers). Plus, attaching them to weight belt is easy and safe with the cages. (2) Having dual handles is awesome. If I’m using the 5 pound handles for say 25lbs, I have the 10 handles right there for a drop set. (3) The bottom rails are fat enough and comfortable enough for neutral grip pressing, hammer curls and pullovers.
I bought a set of the 80 lb. Pepin dumbbells a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely love them! Very high quality build.
Prices mentioned in the video are in Canadian dollars. They're currently $1392 usd for the 2x60lb set + shipping. Shipping to Michigan is $178... so total they're $1571 usd.
You can get Powerblock Elite EXPs 5-50 lb with 70 lb expansion set for $558 total including shipping... and you don't need to buy the expansion set up front. The Powerblocks can go between 5 and 70 lbs in 5 lb increments, with an additional 2.5 addition to go to x7.5 lbs but not x2.5 lbs. Bit weird. The Pepins can go between 20 and 60 lbs, so you'll also need to buy separate 5, 10, 15, and 70 lb dumbbells to be equivalent. The Pepins have 5 lb increments but with off balance weighting, although you could buy the expensive add-on plates instead which make them more adjustable than the Powerblocks. Four 1.25lb add-on plates, literally 5 lbs total, costs $78 extra... The 2.5 lb add-on plates, literally 10 lbs total, costs $118 extra. I'm not kidding....
The 2x80lb Pepin set is $1511. Shipping to Michigan is $248 more. Total $1759. That's 10 lbs more weight per dumbbell than the Powerblock Elites with stage 2 expansion, but you can get the stage 3 expansion for another $169 shipped.. and again, you don't need to buy it up front. That still puts the Pepins at 2.4x more expensive with 10 lbs less weight per hand and less adjustability unless you buy the expensive add-on weights.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure this is a great quality set, and the compactness, ease of adjustability, grips, and made in NA is certainly worth a premium, but this is one helluva premium. The Powerblocks have slower adjustability, but compactness is similar, and you can get them made in the USA for nearly the same amount of money as the EXPs. The grips and form factor may of the elites may not be as good, but that's up the individual. Hell, you could buy two sets of the Powerblocks and adjust them ahead of time for a drop set, and still save money over the Pepins.
Thank you for noticing too!
Coop, you always include lots of helpful links in the descriptions. Could you please include a link to the scale you use to weigh the weights with in vids?(or similar?) Thank you.
I love that they are made in CANADA... AS for Shipping LOL We Canadians are use to paying for Shipping from USA and exchange lol
I was sold on the Snode for a long time, but that plastic mechanism inside just never sat right with me. I just finished watching this video and this is the new dream. It will take a long time before I can afford them, but one day... These are pretty much perfect. I will completely agree with Coup about cutting out notches on the seating plate - that seems like the only thing that Pepin overlooked. Besides that, and the price, these are just gorgeous. Excellent review as always, and my now number one pick for adjustable dumbells. I'll be saving up over the next year for these puppies.
Bought the SNODE dumbbells last month, they will be here in a few days. I will use those until I get stronger and further reach my earning potential. I will be able to do a lot with those until then.
@@davidwhite206how do you like the snodes? I'm on the fence between them and the pepins
@angelorusso9345 If you want 120 lbs get the Pepin dumbbells. I would've gotten them instead if I had the money to buy them outright. The SNODE dumbells are awesome though, so really it is up to what you want.
Nice, thanks for the review
Great review 🤙🏾
These are the first adjustable dumbbells I actually desire. When I buy my new house and plan my gym room I shall consider these in the decision if space is limited. This far in my current home I have a set of hex dumbbells that fit, just.
I just got these shipped to me a month ago...game changing haha maxed out my Bowflex 1090s and plus the plastic on the was chipping and some of the plates would slide off...these Pepin are the best I've used
agreed
Rich boy
I use Hoist, having bought both the 45lb and 75lb sets. They have lasted decades, and have served most of my needs over the years. That said, I have recently enjoyed your reviews.
Coop,
I would really like to see you review some equipment designed for handicap/ wheelchair lifters. There are a good amount of gym products and equipment designed for paraplegic, quadriplegic and older lifters who can't easily use standard gym equipment. You should consider having a paraplegic as well as quadriplegic help you out with these reviews just so you can get a true understanding of how well they work or don't work.
Hey Coop! Would love to see a review on the MAXUM Fitness S-150 Smith Machine Functional Trainer Squat Rack Home Gym. Looking for a great "all in one" basement gym stack option & had my eye in this one. Thanks for all the great content!
Ordered mine in March… really looking forward to getting mine
Youll love them
How u like them so far
Love the improvements to adjustable dumbbells over the past few years
Bought a set of 75lb Ironmasters this year, very happy with them so far. Might consider something faster to change later on.Thanks for the review!
I love both the ironmasters and pepins. I had my IM's first but since i got pepins, i mainly use the Ironmasters for 5-20lb work with change plates to make small jumps.
@@JBS7551 I have the IMs and change plates too, love I can do any weight in 0.25lb increments.
Love my Iron Masters! I don't mind the time it takes to change weights. Doesn't really take any longer than loading a barbell.
@@myyrkezaan Same here. It's a great perk
A removable spacer could also be used to make one tray work. Kind of like Rep Fitness does with the sectorized stacks.
Great job Coop ❤
I'm sold its gonna be my next big gym purchase
Have you seen the Trulap adjustable dumbbells. Would love to see the reviewed on this channel. Looks like a top notch item.
I see a lot of fitness products nowadays that seem to be unjustifiably expensive. This is not one of them. Pepin spinlocks are freaking awesome from personal experience, so an all steel quick adjustable dumbbell from them is unapologetically worth that price in my opinion. The owner is an A1 dude, and Pepin has consistently innovated their products. Like you pointed out, these are built to last and, most importantly, they save a TON of space. Great review Coop!
Iron Masters!
Debated between these and iron masters for months and ended up going with iron masters. That price was the main factor. Couldn’t justify it since dumbbells are a secondary movement. Plus I was able to upgrade my plate loaded lat low row to the selectorized 300 pound version and get the 120 pound iron masters for the same price
I’m in the same boat. Thinking iron master with the heavy handle kit.
@@michaelwelsh9957 I’d go the iron master route. Changing weights doesn’t take that much time. I’m sure the Pepin’s are great but for double the price it’s a tough pill to swallow
24:50 that idea also works thematically with the whole sliding adjustment system. Great suggestion!
Great product! But considering my repetitions on the bench press with 145 lbs dumbbells, I'll stick with my Ironmasters. Thanks to you, Coop, for introducing them to me.
Glad I ordered before your review. There’s already a 9-14 week wait
I made a suggestion to the owner that there's a way to do it without the rails. He said he considered it, but ultimately didn't like that it took the speed down a slight bit. Personally, I'm on the fence with the rails and the price. I'm thinking if snode just made their plates more compact with a steel design, they could have the ultimate winner
I have the fast series, the rails aren't an issue at all. I was worried about it initially
If ask me to pay $2000 for a pair of only 60lb adjustable DBs, I would rather buy a wall of normal DBs
if you have own apartment in property yes you are right but if you rent and move around time to time - no
These are 120lb dumbbells, not 60. The space saved, durability and speed of these are fantastic
@@JBS7551 LOL, the speed???? LOL, I just put down the 40s and pickup my 60s and I don't have to do anything. Space , LOL.... I can stack my dumbbells on top of one another if space is a problem.
@@freedomrings1420 Ive had 0-160lb separate dumbbells, putting these pepins down, adjusting and back up is super fast. Its cheaper than a whole set and saves a ton of space and will last an entire life. Im not trying to argue with you bro, have your own opinion lol
The 120lbs pair is 1,7k usd, just checked their site. You also wont even get STARTED with your wall of dbs for 1.7k if you want to get up to 120lbs.
As long as you have a flat surface these should be able to be adjusted correct? Looks like they have flattish sides. I just use a couple blocks of wood currently for our powerblocks. I don't see the cradles on the site anywhere (only the stands now).
Wow, over $2k? I'll stick with my Powerblock 90s and 50s. I also recommend the Titan dumbbell stands, if you can find them. I love how you can step in between them and not have to bend over for heavy weights. Final recommendation is the Ironmaster dumbbell spotting stands. They have revolutionized my decline/incline/flat and seated presses. I can go much heavier and not risk injury or damaging my floor.
Looks good, but to be honest, but only for advanced lifters. Bought NUOBELLs recently and starting weight 2kg and 2kg increment is a love. It gives me more results now but probably in 2 years, I will consider something like PEPIN.
Man, those are nice....
I wish I could afford them. Great review
These look great, more weight than I could ever need. Useful for everything I do, and priced reasonably too! Hopefully coop can do more reviews on adjustable dumbbells, but these are probably the ones I will buy. Subscribed!
Again appreciate your evaluation these are out of my league but if money was no object I would appreciate the craftsmanship and they will be in my garage also
This is the first time I'm watching a video on these and as a PowerBlock user, I must say, the functional design is ingenious! Yes, we have to adjust on two sides, but it seems like the benefits outweigh that one thing. Except of course the price.
Only the slightest gripe with what is otherwise a great, thorough review: say the price at the very start. I'd rather have the proposed value in mind as every category is presented than have to rewind every spec in my head after the fact. Now maybe Pepin requested you do it this way to entice the audience with features first, but I believe in consumer-first practices¹. Regardless, thanks for posting these helpful vids!
¹Semi off-topic rant: At a $2000+ price point, I know even some rich folks out there would hesitate with such an investment, but yeah this is pretty bananas for most consumers, especially in the US with our totally broken cost-of-living. Not to mention that, in my view, getting healthy should be *encouraged and enabled*, not locked behind premium pay walls with expensive equipment, gym memberships, coaches/programs, and healthy food, but I digress.
Ironmaster is king of metal and lifetime
It’s a premium product so the price reflects that. You don’t need these dumbbells to get healthy, getting healthy doesn’t even require a gym membership so not sure what you’re even talking about. With that being said you could always just join a local community gym and pay $20-40 bucks a month, which is affordable for almost anyone.
I'm recently new to the channel and have watched many of your videos about various adjustable dumbbells over the past couple of days. I'm getting ready to purchased the NordicTrack adjustable ones, but came across the Core Home Fitness adjustable dumbbells. I am watching this video and you stated that you were possibly going to do a review on those. With the exception of the Core Home Fitness dumbbells handles not being knurled, would you recommend the NordicTrack ones still? Sorry this isn't related to the Pepin video. Your comment in this video just triggered that question. Awaiting a video review. Thank you for any assistance in advance!
HOLY shit the bed! 2 GRAND for dumbells!!! My entire current set of workout equipment is less than 2k dollars. And with them starting at 20 lbs I would STILL need to keep my Bowflex 552's for my wife. I guess Snode still is my #1 option.
Love the review as always, beautiful piece of hardware. But your channel shows just what kind of gym you can build for $2k. My plate loading dumbbells are a pain in the ass but the cheap price allows me to splurge on things more important to me, like a new lat/ low row system.
Coop what watch are you wearing? Looks really nice
Rewatching this since seeing the Rep x Pepin announcement. The upgrades + lower price REALLY has me eyeing these as my Nuobell upgrade
Loved these so funny cuz I was just thinking about getting a pair lol
I'm gonna have to go buy these dumbbells now.
Would love to see your review on Trulaps!
Hey coop long time subscriber and delighted with your content! Could you please do a review comparison between all the Roman chairs/back hyper extensions on the market? Looking at a super budget one that folds away but would love to hear your opinion & feedback regarding if it’s worth the space or something else better out there. Cheers!
I actually researched adj dumbbell designs for almost a year. And considering the history of them, and their engineering. This is by far , without a doubt the most saavy and pragmatic design ive seen. Absolutely a work of art TBH. It solved several issues. Without creating any additional functional problems or cheap components. Price is expensive. But shoot theres nothing like it
You want top of the line? Gotta pay top off the line prices. Might buy them on credit and pay it off while I have a 6 month promotion of 0% interest.
There is ironmaster.
@@MegaCosmoVisionI have the Ironmaster and love them for the traditional dumbbell feel. However I miss the quick weight switching. The Pepin seems like it ticks off all those boxes 😀
@@Boblen1989 not the price box is like $2200
@@MegaCosmoVision True 👍 it does look like a super premium product and since it’s made in Canada, the price is more justifiable 😊

Pepin do seem to be in a class all unto themselves. I forecast that these Pepin Fast dumbells will be copied by the others soon enough. Tech like this seems to filter down.
Hmmm... I have the 80lb Nuobells.. but they're in my living room. Maybe these Pepins could be added to my garage gym. I like the fact that these are mostly metal.
Would love to see the Pepin dumbbells and kettlebell attachment (when it's released) vs IM dumbbells and kettlebell attachment? Would be so so helpful for those wanting one ecosystem and adjustable durable versions of both
I have the 1,300 commercial power Blocks that go up to 52 pounds and don’t allow you to expand. It has knurl though. I’m thinking of selling it after the next iteration of the Peppin becomes available.
Coop, been watching you from the first garage gym, love the channel. For gods sake I don't need another adjustable dumbbell video. Where is the review of the assault rower???
Those look fantastic.
I'm sitting her with Snodes (back)ordered--but the Snodes stand is in and I built it up. I hate the bend over design of the Pepin stand. The Snodes stand is a better walk-in design. Wondering if the Pepin cradles could be basically adapted to the Snodes stand by setting Pepin cradles onto the Snodes stand cradle attachment pieces, with some modifications. Depends on the underside width of the Pepin cradles--the Snodes have attachment tabs about 7 1/4" wide--6 3/4" width underneath, between the mounting tabs. if so--I might cancel Snodes and buy the Pepins, modifying to fit on Snodes stands. How wide is the underneath width dimensions of the Pepin cradles? Thanks!
This ended up being exactly what I wanted. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 I get the flexibility of multiple dumbbells without taking up the space of a whole set. I have a very small spare room that these and a bench fit perfectly into. Like others mentioned the size of these are a little bigger/longer than traditional weights so they aren’t the perfect solution for everyone. However, if you're looking for a flexible and space saving design for a home workout I’d recommend these.
How does that dovetailed piece on the end of the plate feel when you have them resting on your legs?
What’s the experience like using lifting straps w/ these dumbbells? I have Power Blocks Sport 9.0 and because the “cage” is so small it’s nearly impossible to use lifting straps in order to do heavy rows, shrugs, farmer’s carries etc.
I suppose just building your grip is out of the question?
Coop please review the bolt Octabell and the twist adjustable dumbbells. I believe they have a lower price but there are no youtube reviews yet..
I got a 5-40 set and got 2 pairs of cheap loadable dumbbells handles that go from 5-100, and just keep one at 50lbs and the other at 65lbs, when I want to go heavier I just take load the heavier one more. But usually when I got really heavy I use my barbell so it all works out
You mentioned the 5lb increment adjustment as a technicality but one of the upsides to allowing each side's weight to be set separately is that you can create purposeful imbalances. This is fantastic when setting your pinky side heavier to allow your short head bicep muscle to exert more work to suppinate vs a perfectly balanced normal dumbbell which pivots with no resistance.
Is there movement in the dumbbell like nuobells when using them? Or are they more solid like Ironmasters and do not move? Thanks

@@GarageGymReviews awesome review. I wanted to buy these because of the 120lbs weight.
The additional 2.5lbs plates will also make so the wife can use these also.
The almost 2k price point I dont like though. You could get a whole dumbbell set for that price.
I just picked up the Powerblock commercial 90s. Shipped w tax and all, with a quality stand for $1650.00. These are $2700 USD (with stand) shipped, tax not included. Close to 3,000.00 USD is pushing it for most home gym peeps. $1700.00 was bad for me, but I sold a bunch of stuff to offset the cost. People that use dumbbells over a 100lbs probably don’t want an adjustable as they’re frequently dropped. I’m curious to see how the slide system will fair over time. Seems like it could easily be bent? Thanks for the review.
If money is no issue, these are the dumbbells!
Hey Coop are JAXJOX adjustable dumbbells on your radar?
Cool weight change mechanism, but gets clunky with 5 lb increments, and the price is insane. Ironmaster is still king, especially if you get their kettlebell handles (which of course are compatible with the db plates).
Plus, your hands are not trapped inside a cage like some of these. I just want to grip a bar and want durability like Iron Masters. To each his own though.
I want these, but keep looking at Iron Master with the heavy handle kit to balance them a little more.
Wow! Just looked at the price! 3x more than the Nuobells! Hopefully coop has a giveaway for these 😅
I considered these when thinking about long term durability. I ordered nuobell in the end. I thought as durable as these are they will still eventually rust so potentially won’t last a lifetime anyway. I wanted the true dumbbell feel so took the plunge with nuobell, if durability becomes an issue my next move would be powerblock and I’d just accept the design at that point, the durability plus cost effectiveness vs these ones potentially rusting. So those were my thoughts if anyone’s thinking over the same products.
These are coated with probably the best powder coat outside of high end commercial racks. I don't see rust being an issue unless you really abuse it. Plus the plates can be replaced in the future, if they individually rust.
@@jugjivan that is awesome. My nuobells just came yesterday. If all else fails maybe I’ll get these someday
Would you please review the Trulap adjustable dumbbells.
they are more compact than than powerblocks?
Does anyone know what kind of watch is coop wearing? I really love how it looks
How is the durability of those dumbbells if drop them during set, e.g. i train into failure with benching them?
Wish Nuobell would just make an "All Metal" version for an extra cost. That seems like it would be the best of both worlds. Would come in cheaper than these, and be much more durable.
Video Idea: Bullet proof isolator attached to the coop squat to work with the rhino.
I’m about to get the coop squat and I’m curious if the bulletproof can be rigged to work with it, attaching to the rhino and turning from plate loaded to cable.
Did you ever try this? I’d be curious too
