True, but I think some part of me realized it, it was like I was 100 % sure my life had nothing better to offer than WoW and what it was back then. It is hard to explain though, but I never wanted it to end. I knew this game was an amazing experience and sadly time elapsed before I even could accomplish a fraction of everything I wanted to do inside this game. I think we all miss it, and that nostalgic feeling might never go away.
All the zones in TBC's Outland have an atmosphere & immersion missing from many parts of every expansion that followed. Every zone in Outland has an excellent music track.
I'd argue that it had better atmosphere than even Vanilla. Vanilla had a very LotR derivative vibe going on with the look and feel, where as TBC felt like Blizzard were finally doing their own thing and going places. Of course this was during the Activision acquisition and it was all downhill from there.
TBC was the best WoW ever was. Everything about it was absolute peak - incredible ambience, incredible music, zones that were large but not ridiculously so, dungeons that weren't too quick or too slow, asymmetrical classes that were all viable and had a role to play. It was all downhill after that. Man I miss it.
@@nyxiiaah I know right. It is the worst design choice they ever made with WotLK. Smooth out all the edges, make it so class categories are interchangeable and make a boring game.
to me Terokkar will always perfectly encapsulate the atmosphere and feel of the Outlands as a whole. there's something nostalgic and depressing about this music, but also soothing and relaxing. it's like the dim light the crystals and blue "berries" cast around them, it's grey and makes the forest seem foggy, but it's also warming in a way. the combination of music and visual art for Burning Crusade is still the best I've experienced.
I remember leveling in Terokkar Forest way back in Burning Crusade. The moment I set foot in the zone and found the alliance stronghold I set my Hearthstone there and explored the hell out of the zone. Weaving through the trees and the wildlife as a rogue, like being part of it all. It felt....natural to me. The ambience, the music, the atmosphere. Everything fit for me. And exploring the area around the Auchindoun, farming herbs, skinning mobs and farming the primal life from the treants. I could've done that for hours on end and wouldn't be bored of it. Then returning to Shattrath for safety and reprieve only to return back into the zone later on a flying mount, my very first netherdrake. It was magic I was captivated with the very first minute. I was wondering if I could experience this once again after all this time. This nostalgia....this sublime feeling from when I was younger....
What a beautiful memory! I had a similar experience, albeit as a horde warlock. Those early days were so special, one of the fondest times in my life. Cherish those memories, breathe them deep into you. Put on some Meisio and let the old times live again inside you. The good days of our youth was a gift, we should treat it like so.
Oh the joys of fishing for shrimp in those high lakes. I spent many an hour traversing the various small pools of water looking for fishing spots, all while listening to this music.
I remember farming the Basilisks along the edge of the map for their meat. Two hits from my shadowbolt, tab to the next one. Mindlessly performing this simple task, lost in the ambience of the place. Floating in reverie, like a pleasant dream that dissolves in the morning fog.
Ok, so this is perhaps the zone that i like the most in the game, i just go there from time to time just to realx and chill listening to the music and looking at the trees.. there is so much magic to this place than we know. When i go there to level i just dont want to level too high so i will have to leave this place, i wanna stay there forever
Yep. I still think it's the most beautiful zone in WoW. The mixture of futuristic but ancient tech, how it blends so well with nature. It almost reminds me of an advanced civilization from the past, surrounded by quiet, mysterious forest and trees for as long as the eye can see. Man, TBC was such a great expansion. The music and the ambience were way better than retail now imo.
I still remember the moment I first entered Terokkar way back in '07. Not sure why that memory remains today but it vividly does. I was trying to run to Shattrath from Hellfire before I could fly and got killed by the higher level spiders not far into the zone LOL
Shattrath's lag made me appreciate this zone less back then (now it's among my favourites, like all TBC zones). I liked Nagrand's fields and floating trees, and getting lost and killing ogres in Blade's Edge Mts more 😅
49:40 was intense... i remember leveling beside the opposing faction, making things even more jumpy. Whoever designed this music was an absolute master of the craft.
I always played WoW with the BG music turned on. I spent hours and hours in this and the other zones. It's weird how this music is triggering flashbacks to that time in my life!
One of my fav zone. Endless amount of heroic dungeons we had to do before raids. Good times... i am proud that i got both the flying ray and ravenlord mount from this zone.
All those years ago grinding Sha'tari Skyguard rep, I never would have thought at the time that a video game could instill such great memories in me, brought back simply by listening to the music that played in the background. Thank you, Meisio
for me, you simply cannot top the TBC soundtrack. vanilla was great too, and WotLK had its moments, but the music of Cata onwards felt to me too intrusive, more like being in an action movie or some grandiose orchestra than existing in a world. it's not that it's bad per se, it just doesn't fit, it lacks the tasteful subtlety of its predecessors, it tries to be the centerpiece rather than a humble but essential part of a well-integrated whole.
Interestingly enough, there's a theory around that parts of TBC's soundtrack were originally intended to be used in a Diablo game; it seems particularly clear to me as a music major listening to Auchindoun's soundtrack, but overall there's this 'other' sort of vibe, and I really like it.
Terokkar Forest, where you outlive your last levels untill you reach the exstatic and euphoric feeling of reaching level 70. Man if only I knew what worlds would open up for me back then.
i remember it, my goal was above all....get Epic Flying ASAP!!! just farmed gold non-stop. I was pushing it. I started my Netherwing farming ASAP and going near 24/7 to get exalted. One quest bugged out where you fly one and instead of reverting to my old mount it stayed a Netherdrake so I flew it all over. So many thought I legit got it already and followed me around LOL!!!!
Fun fact. Turns out the entirety of TBC's OST was actually meant for an unreleased Diablo game - or rather, the Diablo 3 we should have got. This is why the music has so many parallels to Diablo.
Burning Crusade OST is my favorite. I love the Matt Uelmen style. Reminds me his work on Diablo2. Compare 56:40 with "Diablo 2 Act 1 Caves". Same vibes. Same music.
I was leveling the other day in Terokkar near bone wastes with music and ambient really loud and i listen for a bit and i for a moment i felt like i was playing diablo 1, Auchenai Crypts part is almost the same from the music of d1.
Tragic to see the people love and want to play wow classic but also want to rush through it. Buy boosts etc. Mainstream people are burned out. Poor souls
Vanilla was great - but TBC was the peak of WOW imo. WOTLK was decent, but was also slowly the beginning of the "modern" ERA with farming badges for gear og auto LFG etc.
It just occured to me that part of the Auchindion instance sountracks like Auchenai Crypts, sounds quite similar to Diablo 2 - Crypt soundtrack (ua-cam.com/video/CdpBFsi2Gg4/v-deo.html), a favorite of mine from old days.
Dunno... I mean, ignorance is bliss, we were younger and unaware to a great extent, but staying like that isn't right either... But yeah, it'd be nice 😞
Hey! Can you please tell me which program you're using to record in wow. I've heard Free Far Sight is outdated now and it's the only option i know of. Thanks in advance!

I don't play WOW for like 10 years now. Yet I still come back to those ambient soundtracks. So amazing.
All the zones in TBC's Outland have an atmosphere & immersion missing from many parts of every expansion that followed. Every zone in Outland has an excellent music track.
Probably because their composer Matt Uelmen left Blizzard after TBC.
I have to disagree wotlks music was amazing and was perfectly suited to each zone. You could almost feel where you were.
@@Briggie it's quite obvious how many of blizz games receive a lot of respect from composers. They don't get enough credit

i think Wrath of the lich king has that magic also, even some zones from cataclysm and pandaria, but the strongest ones were in TBC and Wotlk

The music at 6:02 is mesmerizing. Really sets the mood for the suffering the Arakkoa went through.
