They haven’t invented the broom handle that will fit an electricians hands. Sorry guys but you know it’s true.
They have it's called a back charge..
Cleaning is beneath us :)
@@RobSydney The only thing that's beneath an Electrician, is his husband.
🤣🤣
That’s awesome
Put the belt on Jack and see if he is just a skinny as you were 😂
I had that thought the other day when the speed square got dropped several times, a tool belt would have timely.
A tip for storing your sharpie is to keep it ink side down so it doesn't dry out, it's a tip I was taught when learning to survey, the boss was always on about little things like that. We use the thick king sized sharpies and I can still remember him saying "Those things cost $3 per sharpie, if I catch you ink side up you owe me $3."
You look great for 51, it must be the toupee!
Don't put the hammer right in the middle of your back if you ever fell backwards it'll be painful or break your spine or damage it suverly
And Happy Birthday Brother.
Wish you a great day, happiness, Health and wealth.
May u live long and see the happiness and success of your lovely children, of course with Mrs Wranglerstar
You're missing a small cats paw in your belt, it's a must-have!
But at least he has a pencil sharpener..lol
Happy Birthday Stud!
7:02 "Easy to put the hammer back with one hand..." *proceeds to use two hands and have trouble*
KnowNothing: "$250? I'd never pay that for a toolbelt!"
Craftsman: "That's $250 divided by 32 years so basically $7.81 per year."
[I bought my first set of Oxy's about 20 years ago...Pro Bag Framer]
51 years, and your wisdom is strong and exactly what any good man wants to be, jacks gona become a world class man under your belt!

Electricians and drywall guys are the WORST about cleaning up their mess at a jobsite
Amen sister Vargas!! In 15 years I’ve never seen an electrician take their garbage out.
Electricians and Drywall people do a good job leaving the job site clean in our area of the country. The politicians leave a huge mess.
As a drywall contractor, part of my job is to clean up after myself. I almost always leave the job looking better than I found it. There are hogs in every trade however
In Arizona it's the darn painters
This guy is a trained Medic and he is locking himself in instead of helping people. What a hero Medic.
Two additions that have been incredibly helpful
A pair of vise grips - heavy yes but worth it, I’ve lost count of how many random staples I’ve pulled with them or other odd uses
A hex shank, impact rated drill bit that is sized for whatever screws you’re running. It’ll run in whatever drill or impact you have on you and saves you from climbing down a ladder when you realize you should pre-drill something
I prefer a pair of electricians dykes for staples
I feel like the only guy who actually puts his belt on my waist, above my hips. Like the weightlifters belts.
Hips hold it from slipping. Tension helps support back and core.
My pants already have a belt i don't need another right there. Idk, each his own.
This is not a criticism but just an observation about your hammer placement on your belt. When I was working, i worked on an electrical overhead crew. One of the the old timers told me not to put anything in the back of the back loop of your lineman's belt. If you fell that hammer or wrench is right by your tail bone or your back bone. Maybe fine for walking around but carpenters work off the ground were there is a falling possibility. I know a lot of people have done it for a long time with out any problem, but all it takes is to fall one time. You could make the same argument over eye protection but now a days everyone uses eye protection PPE. Great info on the bags thanks. Bruce from the city of Orange in Orange county California.
what is the model # of your knipex cobra you have? I was looking at Knipex on Amazon, and the 5 inch looked a lot smaller than the one you had in your belt (maybe just how the camera came across)?
well just wanted to say we share a birthday i am turning 16 today and am also going into construction i have got my spot in a very good trade school called career tech it is a wonderful program also wanted to know what is the best method on finishing concrete that is the current subject matter i am learning and i am sort of unsure on it another thing can you do an electricians tool bag as well because that is another thing i am learning. in this program i am learning plumbing electrical carpentry and masonry. i am also very inexperienced in almost all of those things so it would be nice to have some tips thank you
Did you mean to write: How to wear a PANDEMIC tool holder?

P.S. Go metric Cod, leave the imperial cave.
He has covered this in previous videos but just in case you're wondering go to essential Craftsman and go back a few videos and you'll see a really cool new one that he's useing that being said I will trust what Cody tells you
I love essential craftsman as well, one of the best channels on UA-cam. His worm drive saw video is amazing
When my wife and I built our house 26 years ago we grabbed a couple of all leather craftsman tool belts from Sears. They're still in great shape too, other than my wife's having subfloor adhesive on the tape measure holster from leaning too far over the joists where I had just applied the adhesive. Years later her work went to volunteer at a Habitat for Humanity build site so I got her tool belt out and loaded it up for the day. Every time the site supervisor would ask "Hey, does anyone have a _____?" My wife had it in her tool belt and no one else did. They started by framing up a partition wall in the basement and when the site supervisor laid out the wall and my wife spoke up and pointed out "Shouldn't the bottom plate be green treated?" I wish I could have been there that day. When they were done one of her coworkers asked what she was doing working in an office when she could be working in construction. She was by my side every moment building our house, just the two of us and we had a lot of fun. When we bought our hammers, also from Sears, I got a framing hammer and a finishing hammer for the wife so we'd have both, the cashier was being kind of creepy/smart alecky with my wife. When he asked if she selected a left handed hammer or a right handed one I could tell she had more than enough and saw her grip the handle tighter and correctly figured that she was considering braining the guy with it so I put my hand on her arm to settle her down. To this day I don't think he had a clue how close he came as she's a real pistol when she gets mad, especially when she was younger. Ah, good times!
@@sirsweetness8332 She really is. She's got a few dents and dings and is maybe a little worse for wear, as am I, but I wouldn't trade her in for anything and there's no one else that I would have wanted to spend the last 32 years with, much less going forward, God willing.
wtf… who are you? 🤮
if your right-handed you should carry your tape on your left side. the right grabs your pencil and the left grabs the tape. same with speed squares
You should really check out the Stanley folding chisel. I've beaten that thing up for the past 4 years and is still working great. Highly recommended! check it out.
A birthday "quarantine meeting" ...is that what yall kids call it these days?
Happy birthday, by the way!
This guy is a trained Medic and he is locking himself in instead of helping people. What a hero!
Dude shut up this reply is in every comment on here
@@aideningram434 I noticed. Reported him for harassment a few minutes ago.
Where's the 9mm and AR15 hidden in that toolbelt? I thought they were mandatory to survive in those conditions.
I absolutely agree on Cody’s opinion of the torx screws
An old timer taught me a long time ago to keep your tape on your left, so when you put it away you can grab your speed square in one motion. He always said seconds add up to minutes throughout the day.
You can loop some 550 cord around in the metal bracket for the flip on your suspenders to safety loop them to the belt. So if it did pop off it'd catch it.
Happy 30th anniversary of your 21st birthday.
Youve mentioned in several videos about the signature black paint on your axes, would love to hear about some stories about where that came from and about others signatures that you know of.
Went through 6 sets of cheap ones. Got my Occidental with some extras for about 450 and it's been THE best pouches ever.
Sharpen pencil on both ends...like having a spare.
great leather companies here in the UK as well though! i say buy from britain or the USA - not from china if i can avoid it.
Happy birthday Cody! By the way, if you ever need to replace your Orcon utility knife, I can recommend the Stanley FatMax as it has served me good the last many years.
Wrangler star is still an apprentice and will always be
The 5 inch cobras are my go to grips as an electrician I have the bigger sizes but I use the small 1s the most.
I have the same bags that I got when I was a 1st stage apprentice and I don’t ever see myself getting a different set of bags. They’re great 👍🏾!
The belt is awesome.
Test out the G660 92cc Chinese chainsaw
9:24 Hey, I resemble that remark. Besides, that's why the general hires a clean-up guy right?
No loctite... What a disappointment!
God I love the moonlight sonata. I'm not sure who does the majority of the musical renditions you include but I haven't heard a bad one yet and this is a beautiful rendition of moonlight sonata. Did I mention I love the music at the end of your video? :)
Tip that I was given years ago carry 2 pencils one carpenter sharped at both sides and one regular pencil with an eraser one for carpantery and one for writing and then there is the third carry a sharpie there is always the time you need a marker lastly I personally carried a regular ink pen I was working with family and my job was receving and moving materials so I was always signing for orders and the ink pen was nice for that
This is an interesting topic title. Cody you continue to amaze me with your video title meanings. I continue to pray for you guys daily, God Bless you and your family. Happy birthday.
When I worked construction I was a tin knocker. I had a Kline belt I got fresh out of high school, because I was lucky enough to go to a vocational school in high school where I graduated high honors, and I recieved a scholarship from a local HVAC supply company to basically take $2,000 there money and buy as many tools as I wanted. I got gages, screw and nut drivers, a multimeter, strippers, and my tool belt which really came in handy when putting up ducts.
I love your videos from Alaska.
This is pretty outdated mindset. Pros today wearing belts day in day out are investing more in Diamondback Tool Belts or Badger Toolbelts. Cut the weight and save your body.
Happy birthday Mr wranglerstar! Still looking young. Love all your videos! Been watching for years and you’ve never gotten old. Could watch your videos over and over. Thank you!
I’m in school to be a carpenter and this video helped me a lot thank you. I really look forward to watching more videos!
I’ve got the same hammer. Love it!
Happy birthday!!! I have a mora chisel cause you recommend it. I love that thing. I currently have pouches on one side. Everything on one side. I will now be getting a pouch for the other side just for my tool. Thank you for sharing!
You ever think to yourself maby your not a pro at everything
It's never crossed his mind
The reason you need torque screws is because you don't live in Canada and you weren't blessed with Robinson screws.
Woooooooooow.

Im an electrician and I have 400$ leather Occidental bags with suspenders, theyr true quality and make a huge difference
I also used clip on suspenders for mine and at the time I just never had time to purchase buttons and button suspenders so I drilled straight through the jaws leather of the belt and the lever that actuated the jaw and I installed screw posts they look like a rivet that screws together never had an issue since and believe me I got pelted in the face many times with the hateful suspenders.
You got me by about 4 1/2 years, happy birthday old fart. When I was in my tools I never had a job where I could by good quality bags. Scaffold in a steel mill or refinery, formwork or piling are not good places for good money bags. Now I'm a trucker so no more bags unless I'm working at home. God Bless us all, stay healthy and safe. Let's all be good citizens and stay away from each other for a while!
Happy birthday 🎂 🎂
Happy Birthday Cody, your young but full of knowledge!
Hope you have a great day !
Thank you for all the great videos!!
Okay I am going to pull rank here. I will explain why, in 08 I went bankrupt and when I say bankrupt I'm on the streets living. And doing whatever I can do stop sleeping in my truck or on the ground. The one thing I never ever did was pawn my nail bags or any of my Carpenters tools. In 2022 I finally got off the streets. I still have my nail bags I still have my skill saw I still have my levels I still have all my hand tools original. Going back to the very day I graduated from my apprenticeship in 2001 I don't care how much cash you might have in your pocket,,I will never pawn my hand tools never. So here it comes with the word for this. For the professional builder it's Occidental all the way suspenders included. They're pricey but they are worth it. For the home owner or renter that professionally you can go Carhartt coveralls with nails aprons and I believe Carhartt does make tool vests that can be easily converted for tools and fasteners for the garden there's your fashion statement right there now if you'll excuse me sir I am going to watch this I am not going to comment on this any further you give solid advice and I like what you do. And as for you sir this is my sincere advice to you change out the suspenders and put Occidental suspenders ON and I want to see pictures that way I know you're looking like a true professional home builder sincerely

Happy birthday Cody. You are in absolutely great shape and mobility and no doubt you will be the same in 15 years to come.
April 1'st is my daughter's BIRTHDAY too. Happy birthday to you. My daughter just turned 9
When it comes to utility knives, everyone has their favorite.. Stanley classic, various DeWalt or Milwaukee, Roberts Fatso, Orcan fixed. etc. Me personally, I prefer the Lenox Gold or the Lutz 357 - both are tool-less retractables with blade storage and are tough\sturdy and easy to change blades. I keep the Lenox in my rig because it's slim and its been there a long time and i keep Lutz 357s in various tool bags\workbench. If anyone is looking for a knife, I would recommend picking up a Lutz 357... It is sturdy, fits the hand well, and is super easy to change the blade. I bought one and liked it so much I went back a week later and bought another.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag.... from Germany. The Land of the Knipex. On Knipex own YT channel you can enjoy the tools and learn about the corect pronountiation. Like your Belt.
My first day at a jobsite working as a carpenter for my friend's brother. I didn't have too many of my own tools. I had a Vaughn framing hammer, I used my Dad's old leather bags. I had a Skil saw from 1962 or something. I'll never forget when my dad told me not to take my 16' tape, he told me to buy a new one. I had my 50' tape, but said my 16' was fine. So I didn't listen and I can still hear the General C yelling at me that the Skil saw was older than I was....and my 16' tape was a toy!! LOL I couldn't help but laugh and laugh when you pulled out that 16' tape. BTW why do you carry a sharpener for your pencils..use your razor knife.
Happy Birthday.
The only reason you got the belt on is to take your tools on a walk.
There is NO substitute for the real thing....looking the part, wont make your skills increase, but it WILL increase expectations.
I guess I didn't work in the electrician trade long enough, but I always cleaned up after myself, the isn't complete if there's still a mess. Thanks Cody for more things I need to add to my Amazon cart.
Occidental does not make the best. Our production guys consider Occidental to be entry level. Diamondback, Badger, Akribis.....all taking odds-on votes for "the best".
Looks like mine only I have leather suspenders and leather tape holder bags came with on the hip/belt area. I added a back pad with rear metal hammer loop.
My old leather belt(non occi) ripped and I replaced it with occi size small cause I didn't like slack. Stop working hard on daily basis and had to buy new belt recently with size large from gaining 40 pounds.
Also, wore the bags for a very long time as I wasn't crazy about suspenders. I would have lots of back pain as I grew older. Finally got the suspenders and back pain went away. Always figured it was normal protocol from hard work and age. So, add some suspenders to your system if you haven't yet. Your be thanking yourself for small investment.
I still have my Occidentals that I bought 30 years ago. They are the best.
If you are like me, you don't know what would be a good setup that works for you. It can be very wasted expensive to keep buying Occidental until you have what "fits" you. Btw, I am also in the same boat for removing that small pouch. I have kept it in case I want to rivet it to the side of the pouch for addition space.
Happy late Birthday!!🎂 I’m gonna follow you and like this video for your birthday gift ! Didn’t know that I wasn’t subscribed yet
Happy birthday Cody!!! Don't forget to make your wish when you blow out all of them candles! And Knipex are the best pliers ever, you gotta love German engineering.
My bags are almost set up the same way except i have a finish framer bag that has a large bag with two small bags on the outside for my fasteners. Then I carry two hammers on the right side with my knifes, pencil-keel holder, speed square, and a marker. Then I have tin snips in a hammer holder then a tape measure in a tape measure holder in my back all held up with a vintage Tie-off belt that my dad used back in the 70s and 80s. used to have a massive deering that I had to cut out because it interferes with the tools and I don't tie off cuz I work in Arizona and it's super dangerous to tie off.
Great video! I’ve been using my belt more and can’t decide on set up. Thanks for the tips
I’ve been keeping an eye out for the mora chisel in videos. Not very difficult to spot, nearly makes an appearance in every one. Must be worth it.
Better off to pay the money for them. I've had 2 sets of the CLC black canvas ones and they do not last and are very heavy and uncomfortable. The biggest problem I have day to day is my tool belt pulling my pants down cause of all the weight
Hey wranglerstar im a carpentry apprenticeship in Ireland 16 years old and I have been trying to get a set of oxidental bags online and in stores all over the web and Ireland but I can’t seem to source them I was hoping you might know something it’s a long shot but got to ask
That speed square make a great template to cut your sandwich with, nice and precise👍 Happy Birthday Cody 🎉🎂
I just noticed that in some video's you blur your licenceplates and in some you don't. Your truck and dirtbikes don't get blurred but the JD and Honda are, what's the reasoning behind this?
@Wranglerstar Texas is now under temporary quarantine. All essential jobs will remain open and workers will be able to work there essential jobs. I have 3 essential jobs and Volunteer for Fire Department.
Those are 7 1/4in Knipex Cobra pliers not 5 inch. I know because I ordered the 5 in ofter this video, and they are guess what..... only 5 inches long lol.
Happy Birthday. I still have my first leather bag. You make some good points that will really help out others. Bless you and yours.
Happy Birthday @Wranglerstar THANKS FOR THE GREAT CONTENT!!!!!!
You guys don't have square screws down there eh?
A small set of 8" bolt cutters, a drift pin/punch, and a cats paw are three tools i would add. Part of my EDC as a framer.
happy birthday I would like to recommend 2 knifes or you 1st is a delphin carpet fitters knife and the other is what I use and have had the same knife for almost 10 years is a Stanley titan fixed knife there popular over here In the uk
I have a 11 pocket... With one in the very front... For my tape measure..
Also the clip is on the back
I guess a carpenter toolbelt here is Very different
I personally know the owners of shed windows and more. Great family. Right here in SC. Glad they get the Wranglerstar approval. Couldn't happen to a better company.
Also I wear suspenders at work and it makes it super comfortable Belt doesn't have to be tight but your pants stay up awesome
Many Suspenders look much better than most belts ever could.
Not that the convince of of the rack clothing necessitating either or accepting pinching isn't an issue.
It's healthy for circulation too.
Nice rig! Im diving into Occidental bags after 38 years lol, Opting for a Buckaroo All Rounder belt.
If you are going to wear your hammer in the back, offset it from your spine either way. I've met 2 guys that have broken their backs from falling off a ladder and landing on their hammer holder.
If you havent tried the milwaukee utilities knife you are missing out. I'm talking about the full sized straight one. That one will give you the confidence to cut anything.
That's ridiculous price for that tool belt. I have a bag I bought from Home Depot a very long time and it was about $20 and it is still good as new.
The clips are supposed to go on thinner material, that’s why they pop open. I’ve seen guys out buttons on their belts for the button style suspenders, much more reliable, and safer!
Occidental bags are lifetime bags i know carpenters that have had the same set of bags for 20 plus years. Along with their stiletto framing hammer the wood handle has worn perfectly to their hand.
Curious, are those leather pants? What brand? I'm looking for more durable work pants. Thank you.
Nice belt. I think Cody secretly wanted to be a electrician really bad, and never made it. Idk where the myth about us electricians not cleaning up came from? 🤔
