I'm sure apple is really proud that they got a 0 out of 10 in repairability.
Syrup I think that there a few reason why airpod got 0 out of 10, water resistance I think
Yea they get more money out of it apple really knows how to make money they're like ha these kids will buy anything from apple
Yeah. Thats why u see them everywhere😂😂
@@harshanand6544 I never see anyone with AirPods. I see lots of people with Tozo t10 buds though.
@@kryk4425 No, it's not water-resistant. Only Air Pod PRO is. The one in video is plain Air Pod.
Apple seems to work really hard at making their stuff unrepairable.
Paul Rubino iphones are some of the easiest phones to repair though, much easier then samsung’s strongly glued together glass sandwhiches, parts are cheap and easily available for iphones and after you’ve fixed a few it becomes very easy, older macbooks are the same, super easy to work on, but airpods, new macbooks, ipads and ipod touches suck to repair, i found that ipod touches are the most difficult out of the bunch as literally everything is soldered to the main board and the whole board has to come out along with the strongly glued down battery and charging port to do a simple screen replacement because the connectors are on the backside of the main board
@@brando12343 I was thinking about their laptops (I have a MacBook Pro) and their desktops (I have an iMac). To upgrade them or repair them is very difficult and very costly. I sometimes wonder how they stay competitive in these markets.
@@brando12343 *You pathetic sheep using Whataboutism, again. Morons.*
Paul Rubino they are such a weird company because while their computer products are the worst to upgrade (sometimes soldered and cant be upgraded) their phones are the easiest. Almost everything can be quite easily upgraded in any iPhone.
I'm in the market for a new laptop. I've had this 17" MacBook Pro since 2011 but i haven't bought a new one because they discontinued the 17". Well now they have a 16" but it's going to cost nearly $4K to replace! I don't know if i'm staying with Mac or going elsewhere.
Ah this is a great little summary of a seriously important growing product category when it comes to repair and re-use issues - thanks for all the great work you do at ifixit for yet another year!
Apple: we are removing charger from the box to be more eco!
Also apple: glue the whole airpods to make it unrepairable.
Thank you for this kind of videos. It is just important!!!!!!!!
bless you guys
Can you fix my enacfire F1 earbuds??? I washed the right one and am devastated. I have since bought the Tozo NC7. They're arriving tomorrow. Needless to say; I'd love to know about if you can help me with this!?!? Thanks!
Can You have a Teardown and battery replacement guide on edifier TWS NB.
Sennheiser Momentum True wireless ? Any advice on repairbility ?
Do huawei freebuds 3 please. My freebuds 3's charging case battery is holding less and less charge. I'm considering of replacing the battery of the case, but don't know if it's destructive or not.....
would love a vid on the jabra model(s) and sonys as well
please would like to see what it looks like inside airpods headphones called Black pods
It's been awhile, any new earbud repairs?
IFixit: Airpods repairability 0/10
Cambo fixing: Airpods repairability 10/10 !
😂😂😂
My sony wf1000xm3 case battery cannot contain more than 20% juice anymore please show us a detailed teardown cz i wanna replace the battery but dont wanna destroy it while trying, i dont understand why u guys didnt do it since they were the top wireless earbuds of 2019 and almost the same in 2020. Hifigo website has done it the pictures dont elaborate how to open it properly. Please help me with this. Thanks
Do a teardown for Sony WF 1000XM3 please
& the Razer Hammerhead too
Can you do razed hammer heads pro?
Where is the video for the echo buds tear down?
It would be great to see a teardown of the Bose A20 noise cancelling aviation headsets to see how they work and are assembled.
Can you do a tear down of the new Powerbeats wired, just to see what the cable is used for and if it has similar internals than the Powerbeats pro

Does the varta 1454 battery fit samsung buds?
Can you make an update for this guide?
Being able to repair products is a great way for future engineers to learn and it helps the environment. Companies should always try to make things that the user can fix.
Hey Ifixit you forgot to teardown Sony WF-1000XM3
I have that same earphones and with some research you can see that it is not glued and the two pieces are held together with plastic clips.
@@sinneDeel Anyone have a video guide of taking off the clips? Mine are blocked but I don't want to risk damaging them. I'll try a Sony store first...
What about pixel buds?
I've won a beasts X last year as bday gif, after one year its battery has died, here in Brazil apple charge US$100 for a battery replacement ....I'll go for sony or galaxy buds easy
Jonas C. S. J to be fair. How are going to replace the battery on the galaxy buds. Good luck
@@shunnybunny I'm a technician, I've already removed beatsx's battery, but I couldn't find an original replacement for it, therefore replacements on galaxy buds as ifixit has showed us is a lot easier...
Jonas C. S. J fair enough. Unfortunately, even fairly easy task such as replacing iPhone battery is not feasible for most.
@@shunnybunny so when battery wear out the solution is buy new one?
@@mixedup5858 for something like a wireless earbuds. Probably easier to just buy new one. For a phone. It’s cheaper replace the battery then getting a new one.
Why you guys did not turn down bose soundsport free
Pls teardown the sony wf-1000 xm3 earbuds🙏🙏🙏
please jabra 65t case battery replace ment
Meizu pop?
Where is Sony earbuds tear down video
I never see the earbuds sold or promoted in stores the sales expectancy is missing probably and replaced with Blu tooth speakers
Nice
Can you please tear down beats studio 3’s , I got bought fake beats from a scammer and I want to know why noise cancelling dosent work
HELP ❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️
My right ear bud is not working though the button is working but no sound is coming from the earbud . I also tried reseting it but still it is not working.
PLEASE HELP🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏🙏🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
THANK YOU.....
No mandated closed-loop recycling laws and companies not considering easy battery replacement. WTF. Thanks for the vid, you’ve narrowed my choices.
Can you do something like this for the Jabra Elite 75t?
I hope so I need this
Yep, include me in that... looks like you'll have a few grateful viewers for the Jabra 75t's !! I've wasted days trying to follow all the tips that worked for others, but I reckon mine just boil down to no bud battery power. Even though they've never been used. Not wasting postage money sending them back.
As an opportunist watching this, may I ask anyone's response with how to provide myself with simple wire/plug rehabilitation for otherwise perfectly intact earbuds? Maybe a URL for me to study?
Vice is such a destructive method. I wouldn't rate samsun highly at all.
Sony WF 1000XM3 is where all headphones need to be. WF 1000XM4 a close second
tks
try tearing down the realme buds which is basically an airpods clone
see if they make it any different
Waiting for surface buds
Rewarded them with a 1 out of 10 😂
All in all, they are just consumables, because no battery replacement, use and dispose every 2yrs. Yes, heaps of used buds will pile up. But that's just the way it is.
If you don’t buy a car and recycle them it should turn out better than most people on the planet.
It should be forbidden to sell products with non-easy-repaced-batteries. I mean, headphones and particulary BT speakers will be 100% useable a decade or two (or much longer) but are obsolete for the masses after a couple of years when the battery is bad. Ridicolous!
What is the cost for this junk per gm?
who is willing to create replaceable housing for those buds ???
Pixel buds pleas
This is why I consider not buying these wireless earbuds.
Nobody is repairing these at home... just do a best wireless video
You are wrong, I repaired my JBLs because sometimes a good sound is hard to throw away. And battery degrades so I was glad I was able to squeeze another lifetime on a set of buds before I can move on to buy new ones.
Here you can see why most tws buds sound so bad. It's not cause of the drivers but the housing and hardware combination they cant get enough space to do much with tuning inside the bud
What you didn’t tear open the most popular Sony wireless headphones?!?!
Apples stuff relies heavily on glue. I think step one is a heat gun before trying to pry these things. Then again apples solution is just to buy new ones..
i think the redmi airdots are pretty easy to disassamble
You just need to drop them ahahah
О,ну наконец-то
Why never a xiaomy o huawey?
because their name are xiaomi and huawei
Bluetooth audio still needs work as well. Let's hope better designed, and better sounding, buds come out.
Wynner3 airpods pro sound just as good if not better then high end wires earbuds
@@brando12343 *Lol no. Not even close. They sound worse than the competition.*
Gecko don’t knock em till ya try em, having proper noise cancelation on earbuds is a game changer
@@brando12343 The Sony's are literally much better. Superior audio. Superior ANC. Superior battery. Superior features. Superior customization. *These is all proven facts.*
Gecko do they connect as easily as airpods do? plus they don’t look even close to as good as airpods i’d much rather have airpods then some heavy black lump hanging off my ear that i’m sure wouldn’t be as comfortable as airpods are an hour into listening, a lot of people like me can only use airpod style earbuds because everything else quickly becomes very uncomfortable, not a very good experience when your ears hurt from using your earbuds
You gonna go that Mac Pro teardown though, or...?
sony wf-10000xm3 is the best
Hooo boy
The AirPods Pro, despairing its 0 repairability, sounds pretty good actually
Actually Ifixit couldnt tear it down properly.
@@manueltorres661 lol no apple will do everything to keep you out of their devices
@@mirono3099 you must be stupid
@@manueltorres661 How did they not? Explain how, iSheep. What did they do wrong?
How dare you call me an Isheep when I'm a Samsung Galaxy Owner.
You guys are missing the point of modern technology. If companies still wanted to make things repairable they wouldn't be using glue and adhesives. They'd use screws and various snap locks. Modern tech is designed to be easily assembled and then thrown away once it's useful life expectancy has expired. You want to see repairable electronics? Look at electronics from the 1970's and older. Things were designed to be repaired back then, but at a significantly higher cost.
Sony wf-1000x is actually the worst!
so where's the disassembly guide? guide just leads to thi sfast paced video
Jabra?
Teardown ticpods free plz
Sup iFixit
..
Nice video edit and info, really like it. But I would never never never give my electronics to someone who use these techniques to take things apart. Our apple products always go back to the Apple store where they replace them with new ones or they take the repairable items apart by factory trained techs who use factory tools and techniques
So all earbuds are e-waste

I had originally planned on giving this video a huge thumbs up, however, when the video ended with no look or anything Into the other earbuds of 2019 I was deeply upset. When your title says a look at the earbuds of 2019 and you leave out pretty much ALL the other brands of earbuds like sound core, Raycon, Sennheiser, etc., you really can't get away with such a title. Very disappointed and can't believe that it was ifixit that did it.
It says best and worst. Not every earbud of 2019.
Sometimes i find ifixit is so ridiculous. How TF you can even make earphones repairable? Lmao. Thats why we get full replacement when something goes wrong in warranty period.
So you'll buy new earbuds every few years when the battery dies.. great logic there.
It's simple as the are kidding us with unrepairable stuff it's an easy choice don't buy Apple. I made that choice still many years ago. I'm using Huawei those phones are much better.
Who repairs their earbuds? No matter what brand. I don’t want a repaired earbuds, it will compromise its waterproofness. A lot of people will get a new earbuds when theirs are broken, they are not going to repair it. I’ve never met anyone who has a repaired earbuds wired or wireless . It’s just how it is.
I repaired my wired one many times
great video, but this mumbling in US-American videos (especially ifixit) is hard to understand for non-American speakers. Serioulsy, folks, you can do better.

Who buys their buds from ifixits prospective

Are you stupid??
