With that headliner I removed mine out of the car, removed all that grey fabric with that spongy thing under, got a black fabric online and good automotive adhesive and done it myself, black headliner in about 2 hours
"white" love a good mk3, I have a 1.8 in dragon green, Australia, my father bought it new in 1997
I've always wanted a mk3 Golf. I've had a mk1, a mk4, and a mk7. This one looks to be in decent shape, too. looks nice!
White out! ; )
God I miss my MK3, first car was a 1.4 white MK3 on JOM coilovers (ebay!) and this brings back all the nostalgia. Great video
that was so satisfying to watch thank you
Not sure if you've found out yet but, the headliner is an easy fix because it happened to mine all it takes is to replace the material not the actual headliner, hope it helps mate!

Great video Luke, she looks way more presentable now especially the engine bay was in need of a good clean. Makes it way nicer to work on. Saw that you where cleaning the door shuts and door lips with a rag and some cleaner. Would recommend you to use wheel cleaner, brush it in like you already did. End then set your pressure washer to the lowest setting and spray it clean. It's easier than cramming you finger between the hinges with a rag. They also become wet while washing/rinsing the exterior so you need to dry them anyway. Will there be a part two for the exterior? (claying, cutting, compound and machine polish). Great car to practice detailing on mate looking forward to it, and WHITE!
I did consider using a pressure washer to help clean the door shuts as I usually do! I'll probably redo them at some point in the future off camera 👍
Yeah there will be a part 2 as the paintwork definetely needs a proper correction... thanks for watching!
Iv had had 4 mk3s, 3 of which were 1.4 8v aex.... My current is a 2.0 16v Abf ... We all have our poster car and this was mine... I agree totally with buying the cheaper option(do your own twist on things). There is alot of potential in this lil gem .. and you don't have to worry about the window electronics caking themselves on a drive!
Well wear👍
“White” looking good can’t wait to see what you do to it!
Thanks mate! 👍
She looks good now, excited to see what you're gonna do with it! Maybe I'll get some inspiration of things you do your car to do with mine (I have a dragon green one) :D (and: WHITE)
Thanks for following the build! I do like a dragon green mk3! 😃
Awesome video as always buddy! And White 😝
Legend! 👍
Some fresh plates, lowering springs and a go faster stripe will look cool man🙂 White
Top of that list has to be go faster stripes! Adds an extra 5bhp and this car needs it 😂
Love it!!! 😀

My second car was a 96 mk3 golf 3 door, 1.4 8v AEX, 4 years and 50,000 miles later she was scrapped due to needing welding on both sills and passenger floor pan, all of which came to a quote of £480. First thing I did was change the clutch and replaced the gearbox for a low milage unit and dumped the smarties rims and went for 205/50/16 BK racing alloys with Kumho tyres and some coilovers. She stuck to the road like shit on a stick.
Gotta love a mk3! They can be really fun cars with a little work!
Shame that yours was scrapped due to the rust 😢
The essential plastic bag making an appearance for the engine clean 👌
It is a must in the engine bay detailing world 😂
Is your volkswagen golf mk3 part of your car collections budd?
What was the washing pad you used?
Brilliant little WHITE car looking forward to seeing the development of the lil car 👌
I see what you did there 😂 thanks for the support!
“White”
Brilliant video Luke!
Thanks! 😀
It looks pretty good. You should give it a name 😄 and I was curious, did the engine started right?? I never cleaned the engine bay with pressure washer. My ignition coil got wet sometime before, while flushing the heater core hoses right there and car did not start. You should cover distributor too. But it looked amazing, you did a good job 🤗
I don't think i've ever named one of my cars 🤔
Well I made sure to cover up the air intake, battery and alternator just in case! Also didn't spray water too heavily around those areas! 👍
@@LukeBudd I’m not sure about the other things but I know 100% you don’t need to cover the alternator, the wires are coated so they are water proof. Most of the time other stuff is sealed as well.
The only way to fix the headliner is replace it. You could do it for under £30 materials and an afternoons work
White. Which interior cleaner did you use?
It was some cheap "trade valet" stuff, I usually use "Koch Chemie GreenStar"... great stuff
@@LukeBudd I'll have a look cheers Luke
White, nice video 👍🏽

Good to see you in the comments again! 👍
“White” Great video as always 😁

White.... what pressure washer do you use.
