There are some things that seem timelimited with a count down running next to the mission name or what ever. Don't feel fomo because of that, basically everything circles back around.
You can get hard carried if you play with randoms, that's nice when you try to farm something specific and you know you'll be running the same mission 20 times, but usually it's best to get a feel for different mission types and new tile sets solo.
And about the tutorial lenght: There's a quest you eventually come across just playing the game and going through the planets that basically starts the real storyline of Warframe and some players get to it 50h in, some 200h (could be even faster or slower), but completion of it and the reveals it brings are considered the end of the "tutorial phase" of the game.

@@BradleyTheBradster The tutorial thing is *mostly* a joke, but its also kinda true, youll be learning stuff for a long time to come. You can start making videos whenever you want but its pretty important that you record yourself playing quests since alot of players love watching other people play them for the first time. Youll get access to a really big quest on Uranus, and starting from there, the story really kicks off.

(Spoiler free) Once you get to Uranus and start knocking out story quests the game starts to open a lot. Going threw the planets is mostly teaching you about the different enemy types.
Dojo are hubs for clans/guilds. Making one with friends is fun but joining one is fine. Dojo's give you access to more warframes, weapons, and gear for you gear wheel.
Most of your power comes from your mods. Mods like Serration, Hornet Strike and Pressure Point are your base dmg mods. Putting on element mods like heat dmg is really good too.
Once you play a bit more you'll have mods that can really change you warframes and weapons.
Most randoms have done early missions hundreds if not thousands of times. If you want some challenge going solo is the best way to do it.
On earth there's a marker called "Cetus" that's the hub for the "Plains of Eidolon" earths open world area. Once you've been there talking to the Npcs will tell you everything you need and the rest you'll learn by looking around out in the open world.

Man I need you to take me through the game haha. I've tried so many times to get into Warframe. I've even bought stuff to show my appreciation to the Devs. It's fun but I just can't keep up with the community and haven't done enough hours to unlock the actual story. It's painful for new players. I want to love it but the "tutorial" is too big. The power creep has been going for over 10 years and it's not built with new players in mind. I guess I just need to find someone who can explain things a bit and go through a bit of build craft.

I think that the best course of action for videos on Warframe is to just record doing the quests with your reaction to them and maybe also a "oh look at what I learned about X" type of things. Like other people have said TAKE YOUR TIME; just mess around, have fun, learn the mechanics, and what not. If you rush too much you'll get to the end game stuff and not know how to mod(I mean you could just learn how to then, but eh) witch means you'll get curbed stomped. Like you said Warframe is easy to pick up and put down; just do that until you make it to the really and I mean REALLY good stuff.

You can actually change your matchmaking to solo if you don't want to get matched with a squad that will carry you, it's an icon right next to your player profile. Also about the whole tutorial mindset... Warframe players like to exaggerate how much of the game is actually the "tutorial" but the truth is just that the game is so content rich after 11 years of updates that a bunch of content only becomes available after you reach certain quests so that you aren't completely overwhelmed. It's just something of a meme that players like to keep playing up how long the "tutorial" is.

  • @weelewism8442
    @weelewism8442 5 місяців тому +11

honestly as a new player, the biggest piece of advice i can give to you is to play in solo mode, a lot of confusing and weird stuff happens if you play in public because randoms will skip cutscenes for the story then you wont know whats happening a lot of the time, I'd also recommend just looking in the quest part of the codex and progressing with the story because theres a ton of content in them and good story telling, you'll also then have access to the whole game as well

  • @shadamethyst1258
    @shadamethyst1258 5 місяців тому +7

    Great progress!
You were among the last tennos who experienced Duviri this early in their journey. Its quest got moved to much later in the game, yesterday, to a point where players can make sense of it.
The early game has you doing the quests available and try out and level up many weapons to increase your mastery rank, while you work your way up the star chart. I recommend clearing all the nodes on some planets, so that you can play the Nightmare missions on them and get some of their rewards.
The "200h" tutorial isn't really what it sounds like. Once you reach Uranus (which, if you're doing thing slowly, can take a few weeks), you get access to a quest that will introduce a whole new mechanic to the game. You then later get access to another quest that expands on this mechanic (The War Within), etc. The game has been designed over time to drip-feed its playerbase with new mechanics, new content, that is initially completely hidden. I much prefer this to a game saying "okay, you did the necessary quests, here's all the rest of the stuff that the game has to offer".
One big quest that you will hear about is The New War. It's the apogee of the main questline, and it gatekeeps a lot of the content. It can be frustrating to work towards it, but it's worth it.
And Digital Extremes is currently adding content that's only accessible after beating The New War, with Warframe 1999, that will once again introduce a completely new mechanic. So I'm happy that we get to enjoy new quests and new content every now and then.

In my opinion I recommend you play the missions/gamemodes you haven't experienced yet by yourself solo, otherwise you're likely to get carried by some who knows what they doing and you yourself will not know what's going on. _(Especially in open world missions)_
Only care about systems that are relevant to you, and are interested in, otherwise you can just ignore them unless you need them.
Also you and your teammates watch the same cutscenes, so if one of you skips it, then it gets skipped for everyone else _(That's part of the reason why you should run missions solo as a newbie too lol)_
Lastly, don't underestimate Region Chat ingame for help, they'll probably direct you to Q&A chat but they're likely to help directly.
Anyways it's nice having you here man, welcome!
PS. By MR 8 you can keep up if you play right with the right equipment.

When they say "Tutorial", it's not really a tutorial. It just feels like it because of how easy the game is. I won't spoil anything, but if you reach a certain quest, you will know why people call this part a "Tutorial", it will instantly click. It took me 50 hours to reach that quest, and 100 hours to reach the next one that really made me feel like I'm no longer a beginner. FOMO in this game is non existent, I've only been playing for months and I'm caught up to everything a 10 year player has, because everything is easily accessible, and since mods are the main source of power, you can have an Excalibur which most people would call a beginner warframe and it will perform as good as the latest and newest warframe by just having the proper mods fully upgraded and will shred the toughest of opponents the game has to offer.
As for what the community wants to see on your warframe video? We want to see every step you make along the way and we'll be there to support a baby tenno the entire journey until you can say that you're ready to be the one to support other newer tenno.
The PVP in this game is basically non existent. There is no competition among players except probably who is dealing the bigger damage numbers or who killed more. Because of the lack of competitiveness among players, the only thing we want is for everyone playing to have fun and enjoy the game the best way possible.
You started warframe at a very opportune time because the Glaive Prime was just "unvaulted" and is currently available to farm. It is hailed as the strongest melee weapon in the entire game and the last time it was available was back in 2021.

Thank you for your insight! Would you mind breaking down the video part a little? As a new player, it’s confusing on which quests viewers want to see and don’t want to see. Some “quests” I do are very point A to point B then mission complete cutscene.

I think that you’re definitely on the right track. Taking it slow, learning and getting used to the mechanics, exploring and learning to appreciate Warframe for what it is.
You actually don’t necessarily need much to catch up with friends. All you need are good warframe and weapon mods, and you’re all set. You could play through it all with umbra for example, and you’re good. After that, once you complete the star chart you just do whatever you want. And that’s technically end game at its base. But at that point you’re barely scratching the surface of what the game has to offer. You can become part of the community and experience all the awesome stuff like railjack, duviri, the lore, the open worlds, weapon and warframe builds, etc etc.
I saw another video and it’s the complete opposite of this one. This other guy rushed through everything, completely spoiled everything for himself. And now he complains that nothing makes sense, and that it’s stupid, when he hasn’t taken the time to learn the mechanics of the game. He hasn’t learned how mods or arcanes or status effects work. Or how and why the story intertwines. He’s just completely ruined the experience for himself. And he also wants the game to be something it’s not. It’s as though he had come in with a bunch of expectations, and now he’s disappointed that warframe isn’t just your generic looter shooter, or rpg. Warframe is it’s own thing but he can’t see that, because he ruined it, and that’s kind of sad. But he’s brought it upon himself.
And I will say that at first the game is fairly confusing of course, that’s a given. But this guy made it 300x worse by rushing through it instead of taking a minute here and there, to actually figure things out.

Bro, as someone said here... The lore of Warframe reeeally kicks in at Uranus.
Please record your reaction in this planet... A lot of your questions will be answered... And some others will appear hehe, but for me, at this planet the story of Warframe got me and turned me a fan of the game.
Also... Pay attention to the voice chat/ transmissions in your ship and in the missions... Some dialogues are so intriguing that there's reddit discussions about it hahaha
I also recommend doing the Codex side quests, it reeeally explains the world, the factions, the characters (Some are really remarkable) why some chars hate or like others in the factions... So, when you get to the end of the solar system, all the dots starts to connect.
Another thing, I suggest you to play solo once because if you play co-op some people very strong will join to farm materials of that map, so they will finish asap whit an overkill build haha.

It's really easy to get confused with what is going on and what your goals should be. Eventually the crafting loop will kick in, and you will start setting your own goals.
A good baby step is to focus on getting your second Warframe. There are four blueprints you need to craft the Rhino Warframe. If you fight The Jackal (boss on Venus) over and over again, you will get Rhino's blueprints. Each time you fight Jackal, it is guaranteed to drop one Rhino blueprint out of the pool of four. After you get the blueprints, explore the starchart to get the materials you need to craft the Rhino parts. The main material that will initially slow you down is farming "Plastids". You can get that resource from Phobos missions.

Subscribed for your future Warframe content, have fun with the game. It takes time as someone with 2500 hours currently, some things are easy, some get more time to get your head around. But everything is worth it. Everything in the game can be acquired for free(except some cosmetics tennogen), platinum(the premium currency) can be earned by trading prime stuff/mods etc for plat from other players that don't have the time to farm them. Also it is natural to get breaks i have been on 3-6-12 month breaks from the game but i always come back. As for getting carried, don't worry about it, this is the cycle: they carry you, later you will carry the new players.

Welcome to Warframe Tenno!, the game can be a bit overwhelming at first, there are several systems that you have to face, my recommendation is take the start chart as a guide, go through the nodes of each planet, it is best that you do not stream your first games so you can explore each system at your own pace, sometimes the chat in its rush to want to help you can be more confusing. Play at your own pace and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask in the game chat, there are many Tennos happy to help and who can join your game if you need it. for your warframe yourney on Stream i recoment to stream the story quest those are usually not as comples and awesome and us older Tennos love to share this story moments with the new playes. the "Main Story" of Warfame begins with NATHAH quest in Uranus nodes. but don't rush to it, enyoy!!!

Heyo, i recommend doing stuff Solo first, to get what actually is going on.
You can do that at the top right, where your squad members are listed aswell.
First time going into a mission is definitely always an experience, IMO they should just put you on Solo initially cuz others, like in duviri skipping stuff. Yeh.
Or go in with people you actually know n´stuff. That helps aswell.
The strongsuit of warframe is it´s community and creativity, weakness is giving any sort of good Tutorial.
They really need to just Cut off Requirments for certain activities, like there are a lot of new late-game tilesets, and update old/add new content, cuz places like Mercury, Mars, etc have no cinematic quest to guide you like they got at the end of the tutorial, or when you first start the game.
Also; Duviri is a great way to try new frames, and do the circuit to get new frames. Still takes a long ass time to craft, but you can unlock stuff that is locked behind... honestly atleast till you got 50 hours ingame.
that was a system that was needed, and they implemented perfectly.

Another young Tenno on his way to discover the world of Warframe and what it has to offer. You need at least 60 hours ingame before the Warframe starts to open up and get the grand scope of things that the game offers. True Warframe journey begins at the Second Dream quest. Take your time to get there and you will appreciate the game even more.

Take your time and enjoy the journey.
Part of the journey of Warframe is learning and figuring it out, and nothing is more freshing than when you do figure it out.
Many games overdo holding player hands. Warframe doesn't coddle (which is often a double edged sword cause like thos video shows, you don't know wtf is going on at times).
But 3 things will happen during your journey that you'll never forget:
    1. You find 'YOUR' frame
At some point you'll unlock or get a Warframe that just connects to you. That will be your go to, your brother in arms, an extension of who you are as a player.
And that feeling is something else.
    2. The Story will surprise/move/motivate you
    3. Everything will click
This is probably the most rewarding thing.
But at some point everything will align and you'll be like: 'I get it.'
Then, nothing will stop you. You'll legitimately 'feel' like an experienced Veteran. You may not have the rank or weapons or fashion of one but you'll move, think, and act like one. Aka: The Spirit
That said the community is supportive and if you ask, most High Mastery Rank players will gladly help you/try to explain or teach you some tricks of the trade.
I know you said you plan to learn/overcome challenges for yourself.
But like I do for my irl friends.
My wealth of knowledge (Legendary 2) is always open to your questions.
I make it a point to help new players in game when asked/needed. So if you need an ingame friend I'm there.
The tutorial is *NOT* 200hrs long.
But it can *feel* that way because the Mod system is VERY in-depth.
That said, I recommend playing solo until you reach a mission where you need help.
That way, you can learn the systems, learn the missions, at your own pace.
When I started (years ago) I only used Public MM for Defense and Interception missions. Eventually it only was for Interception, now....
I only use Public for the top endgame activity (which I won't name to avoid confusing you/spoiling stuff).
    That said, once again.
Take your time and ask questions when you get stumped/lost/confused or heaven forbid....STUCK.
Bugs, glitches, or you accidentally get stuck in a content loop (I had a coworker get stuck in Duviri but I was able to bail him out.) Don't hesitate to call for help.

For the thing of having to catch up to ur friends, I agree with to some level. I have a handfull of friends who have done almost everything there is to do, and to actually catch up to them in that aspect of owning things, itll take years, but if you want to get to the same point in the story as ur friends that is way easier and only took me a month or so (granted i had already progressed some before that but yeah)

  • @thechuvakdb6972

One of the biggest tips, is to utilize your Warframe Abilities. More often than not, they will be the difference between life and death.
Any Quest mission you have active, can only be run Solo. As a way to train you and show you the different types of enemies, armor/shield/overguard they may have and how to deal with them.
The game will virtually never tell you what you need to do on many missions, it's more of a "hey, you're here, now go do this thing you've never done before".
Once you get new weapons or Frames you want to try out, be sure to start their research in the Foundry asap, each frame has 3 components (Neuroptics, Systems and Chassis), which require there own set of components; all of which take 12hrs each, to build, and the Warframe itself has a timer of 3 days (72hrs) to build.
Welcome to Grindframe, may your sanity stay mildly intact while you're here.

  • @KeitaroTsurugi
    @KeitaroTsurugi 5 місяців тому

When people say the tutorial is 200 hours long, think of it in portal terms, where the tutorial is sort of the game itself as everything builds on top of everything you saw before, and once you hit those core cinematic quests everything will click in place.
Also maybe at the lower levels playing on open lobbies with random people can feel jarring because it's a grind looter game where everything can reasonably be obtained for free so people can and will go fast more often than not.

Yeah, the 200 hr thing is a meme, but it's got enough complexity that it seems like it takes that time before you feel like you "get it". Mainly from the quests around Uranus and Neptune that we have an unspoken rule to not spoil like santa for the kids where we joke the tutorial ends.
Nothing wrong with putting it in solo mode if you wanna take in the sights and understand a gamemodes without being carried, or get viewers to help. People generally don't have a problem going full support mode and just giving buffs not shooting anything if you ask.
When all else fails the objective is top left and/or the NPC told you what to do.
Make sure to have game music on when doing quests.
And yes WF is great for a yapping stream when there isn't much plot happening, and on the flip side when there is story makes for some great reaction content that vets are addicted to seeing more of. (And the algorithm knows this apparently lol)
