You should have just completely committed to original vocals and made them sound unique rather than doing a Morrissey imitation. It's kinda like the "uncanny valley" effect. Like they're almost right but something's slightly off. Better to just be completely different

She has another man and I'm single now but I've personally lost a lot of weight, built some muscle and leaned out, doing my best to get by, however some days I can't help but stop and think about her. We sat and watched devilman crybaby together and she cried at the end and man this song hits hard. But there's no point in getting sad, keep and store the good memories and move on I guess.
