One of the few instances I genuinely like a remix over the original. This really sounds amazing and if it was released in the 80s, this would've been one of the most defining songs of the era.
Music back in the day followed some harmony patterns, if I'm not wrong(that's what me teacher said a long time ago) always searching for perfect connections among their notes and sounds, the way this person made somehow possible to copy this aspect was amazing. Nowadays artists are not bonded by harmony, and have a wide range of variety when we're talking about beat types. Or something like that. At least that's what's happening with Brazilian music. We went from this weird and astonishing creations to beats like trap and funk, wich is not a bad thing hence is cultural development, but not as great to listen.. I'm Brazilian, ignore my ridiculous grammar and my failed attempt to make a comment to just make you feel noted by someone, hope you are have a great day, even tho this comment was done like, 4 months ago
This song makes me remember the early 2010's , because that's when it came out and when it got popular. These songs have the power to make me remember little parts of my life like nothing else
This would've been a masterpiece in the 80's, if someone were to travel back in time and release this to the public, history would have been different, I want to go back to a time from which I wasn't born.
It's the instrumentation, in the second part of the verse there's another synth which comes in creating a more interesting harmony which adds more power to it. This is a complete masterpiece of composition and instrumentation.

Lyrics
Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love, and it's an ache I still remember
You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end, always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well, you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad it was over
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger, and that feels so rough
No, you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records and then change your number
I guess that I don't need that, though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
And I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing (aah-ooh)
And I don't even need your love (ooh)
But you treat me like a stranger, and that feels so rough (aah)
No, you didn't have to stoop so low (ooh)
Have your friends collect your records and then change your number (aah)
I guess that I don't need that, though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Somebody (I used to know)
Somebody (now you're just somebody that I used to know)
Somebody (I used to know)
Somebody (now you're just somebody that I used to know)
I used to know
That I used to know
I used to know
Somebody

THIS SONG WAS MADE TO BE AN 80s HIT
I'm convinced this would have been a hit back then.
100%
It would’ve definitely been one of those defining moments.

This is one of the best remixes I've ever heard. This is really good.
this should be the original version wtf this is a masterpiece
Ita?
Right
exactly
I know, eh ?. This song has so much less energy as a mid-2000s indie pop song that it makes you think it arrived a few decades too late
yeaaaaaaah
This is absolutely disgusting, straight up masterpiece.
You should check out Tronicbox other stuff. I miss him. He disappeared from his channel for a few years now. He could play all kinds of instruments including the guitar solo you hear in this version.

Yeah
I know that I'm extremely late to the party but this mix is incredible. In an alternate reality, this is one of Phil Collins' biggest hits.

People in 2027: why recommend now?
See you then

Wait, this is actually a brand new song. And it's just beautiful to listen

it's illegal for a remix to sounds this good
One of the few instances I genuinely like a remix over the original. This really sounds amazing and if it was released in the 80s, this would've been one of the most defining songs of the era.
Most of Tronicbox’s remixes have a similar level of quality.
I have noticed 80s music has this upbeat power feeling to them.. something rare now days imo
I like that aspect
That would be all the cocaine abuse

yeah thats what makes 90's songs so iconic
I edited this comment so the replies don't make sense
iyon saja 😂😂😂😂 made me remember my high school days in 1988 😂😂
This song makes me remember the early 2010's , because that's when it came out and when it got popular. These songs have the power to make me remember little parts of my life like nothing else
*don’t
Listen "I follow rivers" AND happened the same.
Jadi inget si Unyil di TVRI padahal lahir 1998.
This would've been a masterpiece in the 80's, if someone were to travel back in time and release this to the public, history would have been different, I want to go back to a time from which I wasn't born.
Also means you're less likely to meet yourself or your parents
I know what I must do…
Yeah girl !!!
Facts Brother, good job
Occasionally dimensions overlap. Possibly.
I didn’t know I needed this, but my 80’s loving behind is thankful.
Fun fact: everyone in the 80s was high on LSD
*cocaine
bruh they were high on everything
@The Flying Dutchman can we just agree that the 1960s-1980s was when everyone was high on SOMETHING?
Even the babies.
I want lsd and friends so bad right now
The girl’s part sounds so much more powerful in this version. Why?!
The guitar riffs in between each verse of hers?
@@umpteenth9912 I was about to say 😂
I'm your 69th like
It's the instrumentation, in the second part of the verse there's another synth which comes in creating a more interesting harmony which adds more power to it. This is a complete masterpiece of composition and instrumentation.
it hits like a truck in this version
it gives a more emotional vibe when the speed is 0.75
