Yet another simple, but brilliant tying technique from a master Tyer. I don’t really tie many Wonder Wings, but I may do so now. I’ve basically relied on stiffening and drying hen feathers with Sally Hansen’s or UV resin and tying them in flat for the sone fly wings. Thanks to you, in the last few years, I’ve renewed my Wally Wing implementation. Kudos, my friend!
Perfect! The nozzle technique is brilliant! You tie this so quickly and efficiently.....and I willy nilly around with it and struggle to make anything half as nice. 😂 Great stuff Barry....great stuff! 🤠
can you make videos about flies for grayling and brown trout what works good in finland and sweden because Iam from finland maybe you can make video how to tie nalle puh (finnish dry fly)
Hi Veikko, good to hear from you in Finland. Simon Lumme was a good friend of mine and he learned me to tie his famous pattern. ua-cam.com/video/zbaUf6D7KUw/v-deo.html enjoy...
I have used this wing type and It is only good for one fish. Yes, it is pretty but the wings are destroyed by the first fish! Why don't you post a disclaimer? Any feather's ribs are fragile and even a small fish's teeth will damage the fly. If you want to post fly patterns, at least have the courtesy to be honest about the negative aspects of the tie!
Hi Fishing NZ, I have also fished this pattern and many more with wonder wings, origami wings and Wally wings just to name a few. I also fish fully dressed classic salmon flies for salmon, it what ever floats your boat. Pescator non solum Pescatur.
2022. Two years on from your comment, it's still unnecessarily rude, and ungrateful towards someone who does so much for the tying community. And you might also consider that using a fly that good and imitative, could just be the difference between one fooled trout and a blank.
Incredible work Barry sir
Excellent demonstration
Thanks Daniel!

Do you see now why Sportsman’s Warehouse will never carry these flies?
