    2:31 listen man, even for beatboxers, that amount of control over whistles is just jawdropping.

    Thanks Ken! There’s definitely some heavier sound mixing on this compared to some of the wildcards you’ve seen before. I’d recommend checking out Jairo’s wildcard if you want to see more beatboxing, it’s the most popular one this year and it’s in the two beatboxer category so it’s also a bit different!

    Inward bass is probably one of the most "beatbox original" vocal sounds since I don't think it has been seen in any other culture

  • @Lucisael
    @Lucisael Рік тому +39

    There's definitely EQ and reverb in a lot of these beatbox videos but usually nothing that couldn't be done on the mic in a live scenario.

      well, it also happens that a bad kick is being replaced with another good and more powerful kick in the video or something like that, but I don't think that's bad because with more takes these beatboxers could probably sound the same

      tbh i wish beatboxers would stop sound mixing even to this degree and had their videos sound more raw

    As this is just a Shoutout and not a wildcard entry to a competition the EQ and mix has been tweeked quite a bit. All the sounds you hear are still produced by him, however the consistency and Power especially on the kicks is near impossible to do without some help after the take . PULS8 is the guy who mixed it and hes been doing audio work for beatboxers for many many years now. He likes to go all out on the tracks he works on and actually has to dial his style of mixing back alot when he does stuff for big competitions like GBB where the rules for audio mix are very strict.

      thanks for the insight into the mixing of this track - his bass was so arresting and full in some ways beyond what i have experienced so far from Beat boxers. Still it is an impressive display!

    I started my beatboxing by first being interested in how to do rock-screaming safely. After I mastered that, I figured out that the technique had lots of similarities with sub-harmonic singing, so I watched many different videos on it, but the best were David Larson's teaching-videos. When I could do that relatively well, I watched him react to beatboxers and the rest is history.

    I saw him live at the Florida Beatbox Battle 2023 in the south of France and sounded kinda low and not very powerful on mic BUT, all his sounds are so clean and well pitched I love his style so much and I definetly will look into seeing hi live again in the future. Also I must say, he's a crazy beatboxer improving all the time with crazy wildcards and shoutouts.

    Whilst this has definitely had a lot of post production work done to it, it does warrant saying that there practically speaking is not a cap on how low you can go with your inwardbass. Because you are most of the time not engaging your true folds a lot you can go really really deep without loosing any definition or texture as that is handled by the false folds.
    There are some crazy people with ridiculously deep inward bass out there, my pick for the deepest would probably be Helium from russia.

    oh if you wanna get started on learning at least a bit. I highly recommend watching Skiller’s basic tutorials. videos like “5 must have snares” or “Beatbox basics” stuff like that. Where he shows simple sounds that are practically the important fundamental sounds.
