      Is the reverse yodel thing just double voice like what Show-go does? but done continuously ?

    • @ScribblyDoodle
      @ScribblyDoodle Рік тому

      @@GrowingDownUnderthe double voice is just a reverse yodel, and rather than flipping from head to chest voice, it's from head to mixed voice

    • @GrowingDownUnder
      @GrowingDownUnder Рік тому +1

      @@ScribblyDoodle I would disagree, double voice is ascending pitch, descending pitch, mixing it up however you want. That doesn't make it a reverse yodel. I would recommend watching show-go tutorial on double voice where he explains it better

    • @GrowingDownUnder
      @GrowingDownUnder Рік тому

      @@ScribblyDoodlealso another reason why it's not reverse yodel, because triple voice and quadruple voice exist too where you can do 3-4 sounds instead of just 2

    • @ScribblyDoodle
      @ScribblyDoodle Рік тому

      @@GrowingDownUnder I have watched it, many times haha. It's not reverse because of where it goes in pitch, but because rather than flipping from chest voice to head voice (a regular yodel), it's from head voice to chest/mixed voice. It "reverses" the vocal registers and the way that you have to apply air pressure to make the flip happen. But the pitch itself can go up or down. You can showgo from a higher note to a lower note, or from a lower note to a higher note.
      Not sure about the triple or quadruple voice... I know I've seen people tap their larynx to get more articulations in. Maybe you can just alternate between regular and reverse yodels?

    That would be so good for me to have it with Zora's (from Blackbriar) vocals.
    It's enough that she opens her mouth and I disintegrate... I collapse into a blackhole of love...
    In my craziest dreams you would react to 'Blackbriar - Cicada (Official Music Video)' and you would mix it with 'Cicada (Isolated Vocals)' for in-depth analysis "in premium mode" 😉! (isn't it a golden opportunity that they have dropped the isolated vocals of the song ? ♥️). I'm pretty sure you won't regret ☺️

    Gene is a genius master of unusual and original sounds the idea behind his beatboxing is to copy instruments, he has been developing that sound which is like a violin for years, this is the essence of his beatboxing he takes his time playing instruments himself or listening to them and developing the similar sound with mouth and he is patient and consistent during the process, this is what I call mastery

  • @vishnumurali8686

    The beauty of the "flapping" is that he does it in multiple different ways. The lip flapping itself is both outward and inward as required. He also uses uvular vibrations to create notes apart from the standard false fold vibrations. Most beatboxers can do these techniques standalone. But to use execute them this perfectly one after another while maintaining pitch and tone is insanely difficult.

    Mmm, _lovely_ reaction. This piece absolutely blew my mind the first time I heard it. It took my appreciation for beatboxing from a sort of "Oh that's cool" place to "Oh shit, if you get good enough at that, you can do _incredible_ things!"

    8:50 he also uses liprolls! Technique that took beatboxing by a storm a few years ago, but in this case he uses them with his voice. He alternates between outward lip oscillations where he squeezes his lips together to get a certain note, and he is so skilled with that, that he can create crystal clear intervals with his lips and voice, not just oscillating whole numbers of octaves apart! And the same case with liprolls, which are performed by breathing in through the corner of your lips to create much lower frequency clean sub-bass tones. Here Gene also uses his voice, in this case inward singing, creating intervals with his sub-bass liprolls, and this is so crystal clear, he's incredibly skilled with that!
    Usually if the mic is slightly on one side and there's subbass, then it's an inward liproll, otherwise it's an outward lip oscillation, well, the tones of these two sounds are drastically different. Also a cool thing to note: he likes to create the effect of an overblown speaker with these same outward lip oscillations by squeezing his mouth really hard I think

    just a heads up as someone experienced on the beatbox aspect of things @ 9:51 it was Vibration bass which is a mixture of... hmm i'll try to explain but it may come off wrong as there are many types of vibration bass.. essentially tho it is vocal fry almost mixed with throat bass but it's a very small sweet spot between the two. However every beatboxer's Vibrations may sound different sometimes, Gene's own is one of the more basic(which doesn't mean easy, its just common and VERY hard to get right for most if not all) types. Just thought i'd share a bit of what I know, and will continue to do so if you'd like😁

    This pitched lip bass he's doing is essentially like that one you're doing. But it sounds way more soft, when you add the tongue to it. Place the tip of your tongue against the upper lip very softly. So that it acts like the lower lip. You should be able to speak a "B" without using your lower lip. If that's the case, awesome.
    Now blow air through and tighten up both lips and your tongue.
    You should now be able to get a lip oscilation but way softer. Combine it with your voice and play around with different pitches. By tightening your lips you can increase or decrease the frequenzy ^^
