I've owned my 1998 Silverado for 9 years and I've had 3 inside driver side door handles break. It just broke again so this time I'll try to do it myself. The last time I paid a mechanic $70 labor plus the cost of the handle. Thanks for posting this video.
There’s a wire clip that holds the crank on. The towel is used to push the clip off so the crank will come off. If you Google “window crank retaining clip for 1998 Chevy truck” (or whichever year yours is) you can see what the clip looks like and it may help you to understand how to remove it. You may have to try from different angles, until you catch the open end of the clip.
As far as I can tell, this assembly works for manual and electric door locks. There are no listings anywhere that I have found, that suggests there are two separate assemblies for manual and power locks. Thanks for the question and for watching my video!
I used a rivet gun to replace the rivets that I drilled out. You could use screws if you like but I already had the rivet gun so that’s what I chose. Thanks for the question.

How exactly did you get the window crank off? I didn't get the whole deal with the towel

Is the door handle the same for manual or electric lock?
As far as I can tell, this assembly works for manual and electric door locks. There are no listings anywhere that I have found, that suggests there are two separate assemblies for manual and power locks. Thanks for the question and for watching my video!
What size rivet is required?
I used a 5/32” rivet. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching my video!
What was that tool you used for the door handle to hold it in place?
I used a rivet gun to replace the rivets that I drilled out. You could use screws if you like but I already had the rivet gun so that’s what I chose. Thanks for the question.
Will this panel fit on a 1993
Hello. If you are referring to the replacement handle, the earliest truck it will fit is ‘95. Thanks for the question.
