I just caught my PB while night fishing on a 10 1/2 in zoom big ol monster worm. These fellas know what they are talking about. I’m super greatful I found this channel.
@@DFWdarin congratulations 🎊That’s a Hoss! Mine was 4.83!!! That may not be big to other folks, but to me it was super Fun. With all The tips I’m learning from these fellas, I believe my double digit trophy is going to be on my line very SOON!!! Good luck 🍀 buddy 😎👍🏻👍🏻
I can relate to getting owned by a huge bass at night.. I've been broke off by quite a few at night but there's one that hit my 3/4o rattle trap and I'd be damned if he didn't swim straight for the only tree stump for 20 yards and proceed to wrap around it and I was rearing back trying to stop him but the drag was coming out and i got a good look with my headlamp right before he broke me off that image sticks in my head every time I go past that stump..
I never thought I would like night fishing till I found out that there's a lot less pressure and a lot less anglers at night, then it became kind of my fav.....
Caught my PB 6lbs up in CT my first time night fishing last month on a floating 6inch swim bait. Even had fireworks going off less than 5 minutes after almost as if congratulating me! lol definitely a believer in night fishing now
From the first part of July threw the fall I do the vast majority of my fishing in the dark, good thing about working second shift and getting off work at 11 pm. But I have most definitely had some of my best times fishing at night with the new moon and the full moon! Great video as always!!
Could you do a video on fishing before and after a thunderstorm. This time of year in florida we have daily heavy storms and could use some tips on landing some bass.
thanks for doing another nite time vid, Tim. I fish at nite and echo your comments on not using too much light at nite. When i move from spot to spot, i see a bright white headlamp. However once i get near, I immediately change to a green headlamp. it’s perfect. I know green doesn’t spook fish and it gives me plenty light in the boat as well. I have option for red too, but green much better imo. Agree , hard to beat ole Monster or cMac worm. 👍
My home lake is a high pressured lake and night fishing here has produced the biggest bass I've caught out of the lake. Once you get used tonight fishing it's really fun actually
I use to night fish for bass back in the 80s using small live bluegill under a bobber,,My best one doing that method was a 27" ten pounder,,all bass were released...
Great job Tim. It sparked or rekindled an interest I have not enjoyed since the early 80's when I lived in Florida. Gonna try it here in VA. Thanks Man!
The one I’ve been waiting for. I’m a dim headlight connoisseur lol. I’m partial to those rayovac sportsman cap lights if you can you find one. I pack a brighter one for when needed. Rats (wakes), popping frogs and swimbaits are my favorites
Yess!! I’ve been waiting for the night fishing video. Question about fishing the full moon, do you treat hard shadow lines at night like you would during noon, or do you find they are less important?
I also want to know the answer to this question... Because I have not been bassin at night and I'm trying to learn as much as I can... I have some plans to do some night fishing soon... Gotta get my education in on it so I have a bit more confidence on the water... I've missed out on night fishing because until now I never had the opportunity, life got in my way... But now that I have a passive income and less obligations I have all the time in the world to enjoy the life that I have been wanting to live... Retirement at 40 is a blessing and my wife and I are living our best life
Got my R2S Tactical Wake in the mail this weekend. Now I wish I would have bought 2 just so I could save one to display. It looks great in the wooden box it comes in. Nice job guys! It ought to be great in this situation as well. Cant wait to get it out on the water.
Awesome video, thank you for this video. I like fishing at night but getting good information on what will make me a better fisherman at night is where it's at
If you're Texas rigging, use a peg, brass weight and a glass beed for sound. The glass beed can make a big difference at night. It's not so good for day though for me. Also trie supper slow retrieves, hop it and drag it. A lot of times the fish are biting but you can barely feel anything, you just feel a tad of resistance. Don't be afraid to set the hook on any kind of different feeling retrieves. Good luck buddy.
You mentioned the bug spray, i would add to make sure to avoid using repellent that contains deet. Not for the obvious health concerns surrounding it, but primarily because largemouth HATE it. If you have bug repellent on your hands that contains deet and then handle your lures and touch your line there is a chance they'll avoid it.
Being from AZ. They did allot of fishing at night. And that's something I have not did allot of. But going to have to get out there and start fishing at night for sure.
Protecting your night vision is critical in infantry combat. That and freezing in place when a flare went up were repeatedly drilled into one during training. Night vision while on the water can’t be overemphasized. 👍🏼🎣
Even here in ohio I night fish from spring until even Into mid November . My favorite night fishing spot is close to home and gin clear and deep. I will warn you , I fish from a kayak mostly and beavers are either curious or territorial and they tend to swim the banks so it's easy to spook them and vice versa.
As always love the content guys , keep up the great work , was wondering if I’d be out of line to ask for some kind of regional guide like what you might recommend for northern guys & then maybe a southern portion however you’d like to break it down just a thought!
Just got back from my local pond and had bass schooling up on some threadfin shad and caught my first 3 largies on topwater with a white popper started fishing in pitch black dark at 5 am. I was using a 5'6" medium rod and they were absolutely destroying my popper so hard I didn't even need to hook set. And got shook off by a definite pb largie which isn't hard to beat lmao my current pb is only 3 and a half lbs.
I recommend a little bigger rod if your going to break that p.b...otherwise 💔 is coming.7 ft medium for most treble hooked water baits and 30-40 lb braid or 15 lb mono .
A lot of good tips here Tim.. For the life of me I can't figure why people give up on the old school baits such as the jitterbug . When I was younger I had many a good night fishing. You did skip over the main reason I no longer night fish. Mosquitoes!! I don't care how much bug deterrent you use or where you put it They will get you. After you fished as many years as I have you'll understand why I don't night fish anymore.. Fair weather fisherman know.Give me the early morning.
Tim did Zoom bait co sell and trade hands with someone and doing away with some colors? The color "old purple", especially in the ol monster worm is probably the best bass catching bait to use except in the cold months. You can't find that color very much because it's a special color. Have you ever used any? It's deadly at night and day.
I've been fishing at night during the summer times for years and from my own express is during summer night fishing water conditions dont play a role in my fishery all these year what work best is any bait that have lots of action will get you bit...

Been night fishing for about 3 weeks now on a clear lake, hoping to go into my second tournament feeling confident about reaching a limit, but I am getting my tail kicked. Two fish on any trip, and nothing I have watched videos seem to be clicking. Dragging big black worms around brush piles on ledges, dark topwater lures (at the bank and parallel) wacky rigged in the light and letting it slowly sink then repeat, dragging a craw down rocks, dark chatterbaits in the shallow, the only lure with multiple catches is with a double willow bladed in aurora. I am starting to think I am overthinking this and just need to know where my lay downs and brush piles are in the creeks (like said), and this fish my confidence baits for those situations.

my favorite small lake here in nyc, theyve recently been doing some repair work on the dam part so the water level is SUPER low. overall sparse cover,no lily pads, some laydowns but the ends of the laydowns are now in about maybe 1 foot of water. water visibility around 3 feet. anyone got tips? i gave it a try last night, fished from just before sundown to an hour after, no bites. tried swimjigs, spinnerbait, senko/flukes, topwater popper, underspin with a bellows gill
Make sure your fishing around deeper water even if your not fishing deep.In my experience at night on draw downed lakes, look for points that have a deeper side or a small pocket or flat close to some drop off.Jointed wake bait, bigger profile swimbait(6 inch black is what I like),and a chatterbait are my go to.I also throw a skirtless swim jig with a flapping craw trailer with a rattle and it's always darker colors that work for me(my lake is only 1-2 ft vis at most).
Could you guy's maybe do a video on strategy for fishing algae blooms my home lake is so bad right now that it's murked up the water so much the good grasses can't get enough sunlight to grow
So stained water and no moon use darker colors ? Clear water and full moon use shad and brighter colors? I've never understood this at night or day. Bait fish, pan fish, crawfish etc are the same color day or night , moon or not ,stained or clear water and the bass are still feeding on them relentlessly. In my opinion it has more to do with covering water and getting your bait in front of more fish for more opportunities. Once you've figured out what color and style bait they want that trip , then put the trolling motor down and cover water
Also, can't you use some lights to attract small fish so that the bass come in and then they'll see your lure or bait and take it? I've seen people do that with inshore saltwater fishing. Is that the reason why, that it's different, or would it work for bass fishing as well?
I've heard of people using the underwater green lights to attract bait fish and crappie, which in theory would also attract largemouth feeding on those bait fish. I would imagine they would lurk just outside of the scope of the light and attack the bait fish intermittently. I know that's what largemouth do around marinas and boat docks with big lights on at night.
I've done it this year several times .Quick flash my light on the shallow water shad , especially early in summer, and then throw my lure thru the commotion. It definitely has got me some good bites because in that early summer they are hunting shallow and once their fired up you can get a couple to commit.
pick up some fluorescent braid. when i blacklight fish, i prefer to use a fluorescent fluorocarbon or monofilament leader, as opposed to having my mainline fluorescent. I dont know if fish can see UV light bouncing off the line well, but leaders make me feel more stealthy because the only time the line is illuminated is during the cast, as the line is traveling out my guides and through the air. that way i can see where my lure lands, but its usually far enough away that the black light isnt illuminating the leader when the line settles. hope that tip helps.
I want to chime in here, I feel that catching giants at night is not as noteworthy, it’s to easy. You could put hooks on a block of wood a catch them. This is my opinion
@@andybales7318 Well I could see that being like that if I was fishing in the sky, but I'm not, I'm fishing in the water that's dark. Throw something dark in a dark room can you see it? Of course not.
@@danaparks8812 not sure the science behind it,but it works is all I can tell you.Caught a 37 lb limit this summer and all of the fish came on black baits whether they were chatterbait, top water, jig,or swimbait.Went to some color variations on those baits and could not get bit consistently.I think if your water clarity is less then two to three ft it makes a difference.Again ,if your a fish looking up to attack, that dark silhouette stands out against the sky and on bottom baits you can do your own test.drop a light colored worm or craw a couple feet down, and compare the visibility to a black one.
@@dontnonowuno9953 I guess we just don't understand how anything black can silhouette in a black sky. Isn't that like putting something black on top of something black? To me it sounds like it would blend right in lake camouflage. I too have had some work using darker colored artificial boots, however I've had some decent luck using some light colored one as well. That's what I'm saying.
You are extremely hard to listen too first off. Maybe you can try to stop repeating yourself 5+ times on everything. Next you start to talk about a topic and you go right back to the headlight again.

Why would using a darker color at night be better? I would think that the fish wouldn't be able to see it.
It's the dark silhouette, against the night sky...makes a nice shadow..easy for fish to see

Well I could see that being like that if I was fishing in the sky, but I'm not, I'm fishing in the water that's dark.

I guess we just don't understand how anything black can silhouette in a black sky. Isn't that like putting something black on top of something black? To me it sounds like it would blend right in lake camouflage. I too have had some work using darker colored artificial boots, however I've had some decent luck using some light colored one as well. That's what I'm saying.
Now that I night fish. Day fishing is pointless
You are extremely hard to listen too first off. Maybe you can try to stop repeating yourself 5+ times on everything. Next you start to talk about a topic and you go right back to the headlight again.
You sound like a whiny liberal.change your name
Great advice tim as always, just one critique lol next time you do a night tips video u may want to mention the 🦟 🦟🦟🤣 last week I watched one of your summer night fishing videos and they got me all excited so I packed all my stuff and went fishing after dark. Three tubes of cortisone cream and I'm still trying to figure out if it was worth it🤣 in all seriousness great video as always next I'm going extra prepared: 3 mosquito coils, off, those bracelets, and whatever else they sell that repels mosquitoes LOL
