THESE are the videos we really need. 🙏🙌 more of these less of the videos telling us what brand walking bait you prefer lol. Thank you please do more videos like this. This video was gold
Or maybe you could realize that you aren’t the only person on earth and some of us just like hearing about new lures because we already know how to fish them. They do a nice mix of everything because there is more than one kind of viewer on this channel.
@@rodneyrandolph2128 think its obvious their whole business model is to sell people baits through their affiliate links. Their buyers guides rarely change from year to year, sometimes they'll add one or two new soft plastics or the newest Shimano reel, but beyond that they're pretty repetitive.
Ive said it before, these are Tim's best videos. More people have traditional sonar than forward facing and I predict its gonna rejuvenate its interest again.
Any video that provides additional knowledge and insight on how to maximize the value of our investment in electronics to help us catch fish are ALWAYS great videos. I understand waterways and water conditions all have an impact on settings, but would really like to hear/see your thoughts on the "best" settings for various types of water conditions/bodies of water and well as the tips and tricks for the dos and don'ts for transducer installs, setups etc, to maximize the clarity and effectiveness of our graphs. Including things like the best locations to install forward facing sonar, best ways to manage cables on your trolling motor shafts, etc etc. Fishing videos are great, but content around electronics and accessories that help us locate fish are even better. Great vid!
As a tournament co angler I find that having maps on your phone really helps if the boater turns off their console graphs to save battery. Hummingbird has a great One-Boat Network app for maps. If you end up getting a boat and a hummingbird unit you can link all the way points you have saved on the app.
They doesn’t turn them off for to save batteries life it’s to keep you in the back from seeing how they fish the area, remember most fishermen has lithium batteries now so the batteries life trick is BS
Great video buddy, I would’ve loved to see you pinpointing those fish on side image turned around drove over to see if those was bass and then showed how far you should stay off the waypoint and how to lineup to get an precise case on the fish that would be very helpful on your next video. Thanks and keep the videos coming
Matt & Tim; thank you so much for all the video’s you guys make and share And also educating even some of us in South Africa. Tech has changed from specific video’s (VHS) to DVD’s to what you guys are doing. This is truly game changer material….even for us fishing socially and not competitions.
I totally do this with basic 2D and a marker bouy and catch fish. The electronics companies love the guys who go into debt to catch fish. What has fishing come to , geez.
Al these folks with their fancy rodddds n reelz. Back in mah day tweren’t no newfangled doohickeys needed to catch them ditch pickles. Just Yestiddy, I stolt a slice of fatback from my mammy, went to the mud hole by the cistern and hauled out a mudbug. I fashioned a pop cap into a purt-near purfect lipsticker Strung that to my crawdaddy using some stolt thread (sorry again, mammy. Hope you fount somethin else to fashion Suzies tater sack dress) then I pullt out my pre-whittled length of bois d’arc, rolled up my britches and headed oer to the pond to tempt an ole bucket mouth. Came upon an old coot hand lining with a coffee can. Coulda swore I heard him mutter “What has fishing come to, geez”
Now that things have progressed so much so quickly, you can find older versions of electronics at a good deal thanks to people upgrading so often. I run a humminbird 798 on my little boat that has side imaging, down imaging, quad beam, charts. I can essentially do what he just did except on older school hardware. I keep a couple of marker bouys too it helps if there is wind or current. There is a time for them! Hell, you can even trolling motor mount a transducer and use "one side only" of side imaging as a sort of improvised live view. Worked when they were chasing bait in open water. Just have to figure out how to interpret the return. Even if you don't PLAN on upgrading.. learn the new stuff and how it works. Wait for that good deal. If you have the traditional knowledge it is crazy what you can do. Side imaging is AMAZING at finding structure and schools of bait. Hell, I know a guy who bought a boat with a helix, chart, and forward facing, replaced it with his slightly older electronics, and sold the boat for what he bought it for. He ended up having gas money and time in it. Give us old modest country boys the right tools and we can move mountains. I did it with a black and white lowrance X75 for years.. doesn't mean I want to go back to that lol.
Here we go with the app plugs. Matt and tim did so good and held off for so long they were like the last ones lol. The last thing the fishing industry needs is ANOTHER app 😂😂 sheesh. I cant even name em all theres so many.
Yep…look for the hundreds of cormorants that are gorging on baitfish, crappie, bluegill, baby bass, and stocked lake fish before you have a chance to catch one….the birds that are putting a hurt on our local fisheries and our trees around our lakes. Good video, Tim!
5:20 tip for Garmin users, if you download the active captain app on your phone and put a SD card into your unit and configure Active Captain, you can use the built-in charts on your phone to create waypoints and automatically sync them to your Garmin unit over Bluetooth/WiFi connection.
Thx for the video. Now I know how it is more complicated talking about mapping and pointing on hummingbird compare to lowrance. And actually the pictures are comparable. But I got it - the point of this video is different and I really appreciate what you guys do. I've got a new lesson learned and I will definitely try it out.
Looks like you've got a great system. Just one suggestion you might think is beneficial. In the menu you can set range rings around your boat. I have mine set to 4 rings 20 feet apart giving me 80 feet of visual measurement from my waypoint. I don't know if you would find this helpful, but might be worth checking out. Great video!
definitely need more of this in your videos when you're doing videos on seasonal patterns and movement. so many times you talk about where the fish are going and just show a map. this was of giving insight would be prenominal.
Please do a video of how you plug into a recorder and record your videos of the sonar. I would like to as well. No for UA-cam but so I can review later or take screen shots of my waypoints.
Definitely need more video's like this one it's hard to know where to look sometimes could you do one like this on Highland reservoirs where ledges aren't the predominate deal lol
I greatly appreciate these electronic videos (and thanks for talking more about how you incorporate the 360). I have three Helix 12’s (1 on dash and 2 up front). I have yet to get dialed in as clean as you. Do you mind sharing your typical settings?
Great videos for the pros and those with high end electronics. What about the vast majority of anglers who watch your channel? Most of us use 2-D sonar from a pond prowler, Jon boat, kayak, or even bass boat. Even those I know with high end bass boats, many don’t have Live or 360 😉
I feel that you missed the premise of this video. It started with how to find bass without any electronics at all and built from there. We agree, most don't have the absolute top of the line gear. That's why we spoke to each group while building our way up. Conversely, the angler with live and 360 doesn't deserve to be ignored and left to figure it out on his own just because everyone else doesn't have it. We really do strive to serve all parties.
Tim, could you do a video on using a gopro? How to setup for recording, how to keep them from overheating? I can't get mine to last 2 hours in this heat... How you edit software for y'alls awesome videos! Thanks- Scottie
Great Video! What brand of graph glass do you have on your Solix's? Are they impact resistant? I noticed that they have the cut outs in them for the controls, I can't find them anywhere. The ones from Precision Sonar does not have the cut outs.
This was a great video but I fish in a pond a lot so I'm not really sure where to fish since I can't really see where the color line is and it's not very deep either. I'm pretty sure that when I catch fish it's just because I made a lucky guess
These are really good videos for those of us bank busters who wish to become ledge fishermen. But your electronics are a little advanced for some of us older fishermen. You supposed you could do one of these using a hummingbird super 60???????? Lol 😅
Great video but the Hummingbird phone app appears to be a Pay app. 😢 I have Lowrance and Garmin. Would be nice to have another source. Does anyone know what the basic yearly cost is? I didn't want to hit accept and find out later. I'd have some splanin to do with Lucy. 😂
Tim thanks for your effort. Your idea for this content was great though the execution could have been a bit better (no harm intended). The truth is Humminbird Live's images are not that great despite the advertising. In my humble opinion, the major problem is that most of us have not taken time to properly interpret the Sonar, Down, and Side imaging features on the units we already paid big bucks for. Quick fixes don't exist in bass fishing. There is no substitute for time on the water. If you own a Humminbird, purchase the AC power cord for your unit and spend some down time at home on your unit studying maps of the lakes you fish. For off-shore success, learn how to properly use the standard features on the Units you have, get yourself a set of marker buoys, and spend time on the water with a few proven lures and techniques. The companies make great products but remember, their aim is to also make lots of money tickling ours ears about the next great product to give you instant success. Remember the saying, Start where you are, Use what you have, Do what you can. Tight lines. Junie

Guys gotta eat
Maybe you should just go figure the shit out for yourself.
Ive said it before, these are Tim's best videos. More people have traditional sonar than forward facing and I predict its gonna rejuvenate its interest again.
Anybody else up for a couple hour long live stream with Matt and Tim on the Tennessee River.

The best part of this channel is there’s no brand specific self promotion. They use what works
Echoing others in asking for more videos like this. Really appreciate them, Tim.
happy Monday boys

Seeing how you position your boat has given me confidence on what I’m doing
I totally do this with basic 2D and a marker bouy and catch fish. The electronics companies love the guys who go into debt to catch fish. What has fishing come to , geez.
Agree, if you cant triangulate you dont deserve to graph 😂

A little shout out to the shore guys in an electronics video. Love it !! Thanks buddy. Keep on keepin on

Thank you so much for taking the time to show and explain how it works! 🤙
thanks Tim, great showing your process with all the electronics

It’s incredible how much better the picture on live scope is versus mega live.
That was good. I don't have a boat or any electronics but my brain is starting to wake up on how they work, nice vid.

Great video Tim. I know this video took a lot of work. So glad you did this!
I love this video and the entire channel, outstanding!!!
Great info.
Love the format. A video on how you approach points would also be great.
Awesome step by step onthewater instructional lesson.
Watched this vid a couple times. As an electronics newbie, this was so informative and insightful. Keep this kind of content coming!
Can you link in the description what beard trimmer you use?
awesome video I really want too learn off shore fishing so I can be competitive in tournaments! thanks guys

Just throwing this out there if you need a fishing buddy I’m in TN right on the TN river lol

👏👏👏 thank you Tim,great job ❤
360 and the mapcard were much bigger game changers than live was I think
Thanks bro for the info you still kill it

Great video

One boat network app is like 25 bucks a year i believe.
@@nchec326 Very reasonable if it is.
How many transducers do you currently have on your boat?
Can fish actually hear the depth finders when in use?
What rod recomend for flutter spoons? 5 and 6 inches?

Why no rods in the boat? 😊
Relatively new to graphs. At 9:49 in the video aren’t there fish all over and not just where you’re pointing? Might not be what you want to target.
This ain’t fishing your hunting
Mega live sucks
