Not really the same. Hogwarts Legacy was still an incredibly woke game, it even had a prominent trans character in it, who had to obviously tell you about how they were really a witch and not a wizard. The game succeeded because of its IP, first and foremost. The controversy over the boycott was silly, if you bought it to push back against the woke whining about the author, you were also a fool as the game was still 100% woke, and you supported it.

The "trans" character literally goes off on a tangent about how only a goblin recognized the transitioned version of "her", and that all "her" friends or classmates didn't recognize "her" as she was previously a "him". The character literally said, "turns out I was a witch and not a wizard".
Maybe you are the one that needs to pay attention to the games you claim to have played.
Then you are introduced to a researcher and a merchant who both go on about their "wife" in such a manner that they want to signal their lesbian status.

All this did affect the game. As for how good the game is? You clearly have low standards as I could break down quite easily how shallow it is, and how most the content is the game is repeated, with repeated enemies and mechanics, used simply to artificially extend the time it takes to finish the game.
All the Devs of Black Myth Wukong have to do, is sit back and let the money roll in, then smile and say to their detractors: "And that, is why we don't care how loud you bark, because actual customers only care about the quality of the game."

The bad character designs is what really puzzles me. Who in the world is going to purposely choose to be the fat guy? I’m fat in real life, I’m not going to choose to be fat in a game.
I consider myself an OG gamer, first game console we had in the house growing up was Pong then the Atari 2600 and my first computer was a Commodore 64 so I have pretty much seen it all. I have only bought a few AAA games in the last 5 years and the things that will keep me from buying a game is egregious microtransactions, live service games and especially DEI infested games. Developers that go all in on these I avoid like the plague and these devs say they want to make games for a 'Modern audience' which isn't me. IMHO game devs that continue down this route can fail and disappear, hopefully the decent people there can put together a decent studio and make something the majority of gamers want.

From what I heard, you won't actually play as Wukong, but as an imposter, most likely the Six-Eared Macaque/Macaque King. This is also supported by the cinematic immediately after the player defeats the giant white wolf. Just as they're about to deliver the finishing blow, the strike is blocked by a more superbly ornate staff than the player's, and you can read that it's the Ruyi Jingu Bang. And then we see who's holding it: the Monkey King, dressed in his Immortal Phoenix armor. There are also a few more hints that there's more than one monkey wrench stuck in the gears, like a sub-boss saying "Hmm... another monkey?", and an earth-god pointing at the player and saying "Similar".
My theory is that the game is a less known legend of the Six-Eared Macaque/Macaque King, told by Wukong. That's why it is called "Black Myth". A "black myth" is usually a less known version of a tale, one that is darker and less suited for the masses. Think of the "Red Riding Hood", and how heavily sanitized the current version that most people know is. All the other versions are technically "black myths".
If the Monkey King transforms from his defeated enemies, does that explain how Goku becomes stronger each time

Oh, and as far as that supposed Chinese girl saying she'll buy foreign AAA games - China bans any games that they feel are harmful to their culture so I'm not sure that this person is real and/or telling the truth. I just watched a video where the Chinese implement facial recognition to make sure kids don't play games too much. This sounds like some fake person claiming to be a Chinese girl. There was one girl in the video crying because she was not allowed to play games more. I really doubt women are 'discovering' games just now. The reasons I'm more comfortable with male developers is because they had decades more of experience in general, in my grade of 50 kids their was only 2 girl with a N64 back in elementary school while nearly half the boys had them.

It is 100% the case that Western Feminism inspires women around the world. In some cases, I find it to be a good thing. In this specific case in China, I don't. I'm middle-aged now. I find work to, overall, be a LOT BETTER when it's all men. Women in the workplace with me has never led to anything specifically negative, but it is a FACT that the women I've worked with didn't or couldn't work as hard as the men.

The games were actually fun, but I mostly played them because they ran on a bad work PC that my mother had, and it didn't need internet at all for the expansions. So it was perfect for me.

Even with all of that, I haven't played it for 10 years at least. The games were actually fun, and even my mother played it (and every other woman she knew). But, the devs are still EA devs... so everything got worse and more monetarily predatory as well.
I wouldn't even play a game like that again for a long period of time... but something like it could still be fun to casually play while you watch a show or listen to a podcast while you do it. But Sims 2 is the best one by far, and they haven't improved on the sims since then. They have actually just downgraded it twice since then with 3 and 4.
So, in short, I think the game had potential and could have been amazing (imagine having Sims 8 combining the basic Sims formula with the sim city builder aspect... that would be amazing. Or having a Sims world where your choices shape the world around you; for example: you build a criminal empire, so crime is a huge issue in your city, etc. You could even add the nemesis system from shadow of war and have amazing randomly influenced character arcs between your sims and other sims.
That's without ever trying multiplayer. Imagine a Sims mode where you and the enemy are both tasked with romancing a specific character, but you can abuse any Sims mechanic to achieve it for yourself, or to stop the enemy from doing it (like pulling a fire alarm, waiting for his stats to drop to make a move, etc.).
Remember when Sony made fun and engaging IPs like LBP, Ape Escape, and Jack and Dexter? Good times!
The Devs think Daw is how average gamers look like. They believe representation is the key to sell.

Koei Tecmo is a Japanese studio that's made Japanese games before. Directed and produced by Japanese directors & producers who have made other Japanese games and films.
Beyond that, the game is amazing, obviously pointing at how you would describe the fighting mechanics.
Anyway, might need the PS5 for this new game.

Remember a couple months ago when Shift Up made a game that had a strong female lead and supporting characters? That game was also labeled sexist apparently because she was too attractive of a blob of pixels. It’s almost as if the people that write these articles need to be angry and activist in order to keep their jobs. If stellar blade came out with an androgynous crimson chin for main character, there would be plenty of writers, telling us that the supporting characters were too ingrained in traditional, gender roles, or find something else to denigrate a non-western studio for being non-western.
The goal of an activist should be to create a world where they are no longer needed. Sadly, that never happens.

I've got less than zero interest in souls-like games. But I'm all for all of these eastern games. I've started trying Diablo IV again and it's mind-numbing.
