While i dont think a steering stabilizer is needed if your not sending your truck on the regular, at least swap the steering shaft for the jeep yj one and ditch the rag for a proper ujoint.

I know this is out of date but I wanted to say that I have a 1999 Tahoe 2 wd with the 350. Absolutely the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have 321k on it now. I have never had to go into the motor or tranny, only alternator and starter and serpentine system. I sprung an unknown leak on the rearend and burnt up the rearend. $350 salvage yard cost for replacement rearend. A weekend of swapping the rear end and back on the road for 40k so far. I wouldn’t trade my Tahoe for a brand new one.

The very FIRST thing you should do to your 1500 Like that is take the Rust starting wheelwell mouldings off your wheelwells..All they are good for is holding dirt, grime and road salt and causing Rust to form. 2nd is invest in a set of weather tech floor liners. 3rd is change your exhaust to a true dual exhaust. 4th change to new headlights like you stated.

Cut a hole in the bed above the fuel pump, and use the piece to make a little door with weather stripping. Some people get lucky and don’t ever have to replace the fuel pump but mine failed more times than I can count in my 96 and also buy a lifetime warranty fuel pump if it does go out so you can take it back if it.

#5 make your truck trackable? No thanks.
#4 Real men don't fear the clutch.
#3 Okay, I'll give you that one.
#2 Is part of #3 no question.
    #1 You're almost right.
For the headlights, having them all LED is a bad idea for winter as they will get covered in snow and reduce your vision to nada pdq. To do them up right you could try this mod.
Pull the stock wires and replace with 10 ga. Run relays for both high and low beams. Put in a crossover so all four come up on high beam. Use HID lights for your lows and LED's for high beams. Snow will melt off the HID low beams, instant on for the LED highs, you won't cook your switch with the relays and your voltage drop in that circuit will be dropped putting more light out front with the heavier wires.
It's your truck, if you're happy with it then that's what counts. Carry on.

Nice Truck! The stock torsion keys can lift the truck 2” if adjusted. You don’t want to go any further than that or you’ll max your suspension so it won’t have downward travel if you hit a dip the front tires will loose contact. Also the reason the front and rear wheel-wells have an inch difference is because the truck is designed to have an inch of rake, it is not designed to ride level with the frame but for the wheel-well gaps to look level with an inch of forrake.

If you don’t look directly in the lights you won’t be blinded? Don’t think that’s how it woks. It’s kinda like when a cop shines a flashlight in your eyes and you can’t see anything on the other side. I think they teach you in driving school not to roll around town with the brights on which if the truck is lifted at all it doesn’t matter cuz the low beam angle still hits everyone in the eyes. My K1500 is a Silverado Z71 extended cab 5.7 was an unreasonable piece of shit but finally after spending thousands it's starting to get to be a reliable truck. I love the push button 4x4 and the 3rd Dr. I just did a full 3" true duall exhaust no cats double H pipe thrush single chamber mufflers with 5" chrome tips on 90s I'm probably going to delete the trush bottles they sound great but just not loud enough for me.

I had so much respect for your opinion until you said 6000k meant the amount of lumens the headlights produce. I'm not trying to rag on you but 6000k is the white balance. 6000k is perfect white light

Beautiful truck, love the paint. I just bought my neighbors 1994 K1500 Z71 with 157k miles...though not sure the miles are real. I dont know much about cars and trucks but I'm starting to know. I had my eye on this truck for about 3 years so I'm excited about it. I'll definitely look into new headlights; that leveling bar (my truck is lifted); and that steering piece cause the steering wheel has some play in it that I don't like. Thanks

Well you picked a good truck, honestly I don't feel comfortable taking advice from a guy who wasn't born when the truck was produced (you don't look 25). That said you did a good job!! They're great trucks, I've owned 3 and still own a 95 with well over 200k. Mine is a work horse. Step or brush bars as some call them are a Excellent addition, especially if they match the front brush bar. Also change the torque converter to one from a chevy blazer of same year or tranny and it makes a big difference in acceleration (keeping up with traffic these days, research it). The above statement was a compliment with a opinion on something to add to your list

Agree on the radio. I have a full system in my 98. The rest of my truck is stock. I never thought too much about the steering other than the usual loose steering rack that these are known for. Finally, I heard you dont want to put LEDs in the housing because they arent made for them. Definite yes on changing the lights and the toolbox!
In any case, very nice truck! She is absolutely beautiful!

Thanks for the video and the very practical tips for enhancing a truck. I have a 1992 K1500 Suburban with the 6 speaker factory stereo and first thing I did when I bought it is upgraded to a modern Kenwood with Bluetooth etc. so I can answer phone hands free and stream music from my IPhone. The console in my truck is bigger than the 96/99 trucks and my 4 x 4 shifter is on the floor where I like it. I have purchased Anzo headlites and park lites but haven't installed them yet. I'm surprised you didn't mention changing out the taillights for plug and play LEDs as they are inexpensive and easy to change out. My Burb came with the RPO NZZ - OFF ROAD pkg and surprisingly 225/75 16 tires as I guess they weren't part of the Odd Road Package. I have bought a 2015 GMC factory 18 inch rims and a set of 265/70 18 inch tires but again haven't installed them.. I will be checking on you suggestion of the front stabilizer and leveling kits but will not be lifting it at all.
