Imagine trying to get deer blood out of a damn bed rug
Exactly what i was thinking.
You can skin em at the spot and put the meat in Walmart bought container. This will reduce the chances of looking like a target for cops on the road
Yeah, deer
They rinse out with a hose, it's not carpet.
@@RicardoHernandez-rf9qf do people really believe that? If so I’ll just put a real tree sticker on my truck and call it deer blood.
I think the bed rugs are mainly for trucks with a cover
Robby Albert True - but boy are they nice regardless. Stargazin with the Mrs. made a helluva lot more comfy
i personally dont like bed rugs. I dont know why i just really dont like it. Cant deny its a good product though
@KelMaster Construction I have a wedge aluminum topper with boxes on the side and a rack. I really dig the bedrug with that setup for work
Had one in my ranger it was hell to clean especially with stuff like saw dust
Yeah fr an idk man look kinda like grandpa truck with that should have went with a liner but it's your truck your money an this is america
Ok guys so today we'll be turning a truck into a step fathers mini van
A bit weak huh
Bet he hasn't even broke that 3k mark yet
Kevin Montoya lmaoooooo!!!
100% Accurate.
Realistically, the best money-saving thing you can do if you own a used truck is to find a friend with a ball joint press.
As said friend that made the mistake of buying a ball joint press PLEASE DONT😭😭 I've already done about a dozen ball joints this year I don't wanna do any more.
just buy your own lol
@@marrag1 it's a Chevy, you're going to need it!
Im that guy with the press. All my parts stores within 30 miles had rented theirs out and needed it urgently so i just went to harbor freight and bought one. Its nice to have my own because i can use it whenever and i frequently weld on it for certain situations and just grund the welds off when im done
I have one and this is verified- good master kit. It gets used a lot lol
A bigger transmission cooler is always a good idea if you plan to tow with it. That's a super clean truck for its year!
Bed rugs go well with velcro shoes
Hahaaa! Yep.
Multi thumbs up on the Bedrug liner. Had one in my last truck, moved a used Mustang motor that leaked gas oil and antifreeze. Didn't get to cleaning it for a few days, and when I did I sprayed it down with degreaser, power washed the liner and it was like nothing had ever leaked onto it. First thing I got when I bought a new truck. Second was an Access roll-up bed cover.
Question on the bedrug, how is it for hauling bark dust?
I have a hard top tonneau cover and you still would never catch me with a rug in my bed
where you gonna plow your side pieces?
@@PeteTheBilter lol
Never would I have thought I’d be watching somebody put floor mats in with such content.
And they didn’t fit nice at least the back ones
I understand the Sponser thing but I would have gone with Weather Tech on both the Floor Mats and the vents. We love them. They're tough as nails and we're in Iowa winter is well the Coldest time of year to say the least. They get everything . Just traps it and keeps it till you can dump it. They don't move because they lock in place and laser fitted for a spot on perfect fit. Under 200 for a complete set. Great videos can't wait to see the last thing you do to it.
Sadly they aren’t available for obs😢 I don’t think
To me it's worth the money to do a spray-in liner. At $500, its permanent, durable, and won't wear out
I just bought an 03 that needs a fresh spray in liner
2:46 finally got to the first project! Salesman just really likes to hear himself talk. Couldn't watch it all.
I have a ‘03 Silverado...best thing I did after buying it used, was replace shocks and springs. Money well spent and really drives great.
I feel the bed rug is kind of weird but if you have like a topper on it and are living in it like a van life then its super helpful I feel.
Tailgate dampner.... easy install but well worth it :) (amazon)
I just put one on my dodge to protect my kids. Took 20min. Great addition
I just put one on my 2012 ram, can't believe I waited this long to put it on!
Are you talking about the little strut that slows the drop of the tailgate? If so those are awesome!!!
@@wespapawcook1496
*so
C Steele your Nissan Titan comes stick with it
My '08 2500 had a bed Rug, so glad I put it in. I took it out a couple years ago for the first time to blow out all the sand that accumulated. Bed looked just as new as the day I bought it. You can put slits in the rug where your tie downs are. I had the tie down management system in mine so wasn't a need for me !!!⚓️
Ahh making me cringe getting the bed rug dirty in that gravel!!! I know it washing off easy but still my OCD is kicking my ass!
Like the upgrades so far. Thanks you and your buddy for sharing the upgrades video. Looking forward to seeing what else you guys have in-store JD.
Its a pickup. Not a house. Can't haul dirt or rock with this thing...
Exactly
Guy H. It’s called plastic for a reason
The rubber matts inside would be cool
Why can’t you haul dirt or rock because of the Bed rug? Do share you insight on the topic.
although he didn’t do this in the video, turning a used truck into a camper or a recreational living situation is a totally valid way to use a truck.
So thats the first time I've heard somebody said "Floor mats look really clean"
There was a Bedrug in my truck when I bought it used. Came with a trifold tonneuu cover. I ripped that Bedrug out cause it stunk badly! Good thing I did, cause I found bed liner already laid down on my bed which was a plus!
Nice video bud. Keep it up, we enjoy everything you do! It's crazy how big the channel has gotten. Be proud brother, you deserve it.
Have Husky Liners in my Z71 too, a great addition. Looking forward to your next videos because I have the same truck.
The pad under that carpet is going to rust that bed out horribly if you don't get a shell over that bed to keep the water off of it. They are not ment to be out in the elements.
i think weathertech mats are better. From what ive seen they cover more on the driver's footwell which i prefer
Nice truck! I somewhat recently got a 04 2500hd for 6800 bucks, unfortunately it's only 2wd but I got it with 83k miles but it's super clean and it came with 5th wheel rails and a reese 16k hitch, shes a extended cab long bed and has the 6.0. Still a great truck even being basic!
I have a 2005 2500hd that i bought for 7.5 2wd also but 93k and extended cab. Its just sitting at home though.
Do a video on that custom hauler in the shed in the background!
a bed rug?! you realize you are going to rot the underside of that bed into a rust apocalypse
My 2001 has 330k miles. Runs like a champ
The bed rug, had me thinking about all the rain we have up here in Washington
I haven’t even see the whole video but I’m excited because I have this exact truck just 2004
I don’t have to buy one I still own mine and going strong for almost 2 decades! Cat eye is the best Silverado ever made. Mines spiral gray metallic so almost black. Black smoke tail lights, new led headlights, 3” leveling kit, billet grill insert, bull bar, wheels and larger tires made my old gal look like a brand new to me truck.
Love the husky liners. Have em in my tundra.
Weathertech floor mats fit a lot better
Ron Eddington when new.....
@@jasonlarsen3515 I had Weathertech mats in my 2013 F-150 for 5 years. They held up very well and the fit was amazing, beginning until I traded it 5 years later.
What this guy actually payed 10k for this truck?! Was this recent or some years ago? I’m just curious/concerned because i have the same exact truck in very similar condition, I bought mine 5 years ago with 90k miles on it. And I only payed $2,300...
Love the husky floor liners! I have them in both of my f150s. Can't wait to see the other mods.
A good set of floor mats is the first thing I get. I just got a tailgate assist for my truck. So far a good $25 investment
As good as the bed rug looks im just a spray on bedliner guy my trucks get heavy bed abuse and pallet loaded I just don't think molded gasoline or plastic would hold up
The bed rug is good with a camper top. Maybe throw a canopy bed for long trips.
Storage under rear seat is a must unless you want your stuff slide all over the cab. Nothing wrong with standard floor mats
Deezee tailgate drop assist and a better solution to the bed is linex in the long run
Hey JD, you need to get your hands dirty, being the cameraman has it's benefits. lol.
You can’t touch that truck if you don’t have $15k in your pocket now 😂
He says 10k truck like that’s cheap 😂 for one of those with under 100k is a good price you can still pick one of them up for like 6 with 150k miles 😂
Yeah but 50k more miles is 3.5 more years worth of miles if you drive 15k a year. A lot can happen in that time.
This is wild. I've posted about my 05 Silverado. Mine is the base model. No carpeting. All rubber flooring. I have a cap on it. But also sprayed rubber bed liner.
Just a little comment on the first one if you ever can find some that fit your car I would highly recommend weather tech floor mats
The only drawback that I see is you can't get to the factory bed tiedowns
Paul Rodrigues true, but razor blades make than a non-issue
Try Some Sand or Saw Dust...Sheet Rock Dust Works Good too!!
Just got my '05
4wd crew cab for 7k bone stock. Adding 7inch stereo/monitor tomorrow and the back up camera
10k for that truck?? Damn your friend got ripped off, I got my 2004 silverado crew cab 4x4 for only 3k
@KelMaster Construction
82,000 miles (right now It has 85,000)
K1500
It was in good condition but I detailed it and its now in even better shape
I got a very nice 2011 one for 10
I think I would go with linex for the bed
Nice, very nice bed liner. How about a tailgate lift (piston) assembly? Very helpful so the tailgate doesn’t drop when opening with one hand.
Nice bedliner, but what about if you use your truck for hauling stuff like sand ,gravel, bales of hay etc... typical ranch type chores???
Love these trucks ☺️
I love how you clean/prep the bed of the truck, but you dragg the bedrug all over the dusty gravel....I do plan on getting a bedrug after I buy a tonneau cover first. Put a programmer on that truck and let us know if its worth it. Thanks for the video.
You should have put the old floor mats on the new ones to show how much larger the new ones are.
Not a fan of the tailgate portion of the bedrug being connected to the actual bed liner. Would make more sense to at least have the zipper connection that the side walls do, to facilitate tailgate removal. Other than that they're pretty cool.
Tbh the bed rug doesn’t sound like a terrible idea I’m trying to look at it positively and it makes me think about taking my girl out and looking at stars it’d be nice to have that, just so it isn’t uncomfortable to just sit or lay down in it but then again I would have to get a cover for rain
When it rains the rug is going to mold
Husky liners are great they also make laser fit floor mats that match rears 🤙🏼
Bed rugs make it look like such a grandpa truck. I’d never put one in my truck I don’t like the way they look lol I also hunt and get firewood in my truck so it would get dirty/tore up quick. Sweet truck though
Part 2, lets go. Currently ordering for my truck
Front floor mats fit the rear didn’t
Bed carpet is cool and all but a complete pain in the ass if you actually put shit in it. Such as mulch or dirt needed around the house. Anything and everything will get caught in it. Much rather get the plastic liner or spray in bed liner.
I have a two thousand two g m c sierra s l t Z71 I went with weathertech Cost a lot more but fit fantastic
They hold moisture and will rot the bed quickly if ain’t got a topper or cover
I live in the rust belt and that's a 15k truck locally!
Should not have called the BedRug a carpet like material. Seems to have led to some misunderstanding. Did not help that they call the product a rug. The material is not a stranded fiber carpet. It is a molded contoured foam with a rubberized and fiber reinforced coating. Makes it strong and soft for comfortable crawling while also being strong and relatively waterproof. Just finished an install in my truck this afternoon.
That's a nice looking truck
Love my huskys. All I buy
Great cpntent!
It looked like those floor mats weren't designed to fit as well as some other brands, I
noticed.
The upgrades look good my thing about the bed rug is how hard is it going to be to get mud, rocks and sand outta it after a truck load that is now been left in it over night and a rain. Remember not everyone has a trailer or anything else to haul things in. Or what about firewood
I want a big truck for the truck camper w/ triple slides and a small or big enough caboose trailer for extra water , fuel , ext. that will be able to go most places a traditional camper can’t.
Yall are crazy if you think you can find a 100,000 mile z71 for less than 10k easily if at all ..at least here in texas in fact there are only 20 with less than 150,000 within 200 miles of me (which includes dallas) on autotrader right now and they are all 9500 to 11,500 depending on how close to 150 it is
My first truck was a 2001 half ton… $3, 500 and 89k old man mikes… you gotta get those 100k or less from old men
Just an idea. Uppal raptor liner. I believe is $130 for one kid to do the entire back of the bed. From what I've seen and heard in the reviews high quality bed liner.
Torey Young raptor liner is a good product. Not sure I would pay a kid to spray it in my truck bed though🤪
Need 20% window tint the two front door and if you want to add 20% tint on the back windows
Every truck I buy immediately gets tint and weather tech liners on day 1. After that I’ll do small things here and there on it
😂😂😂 he really paid 10k for that truck 🤦🏽♂️
oscarm928 what’s wrong with that?
Devly he overpaid 😂
Not for a 100 thousand mile z71 you could sell that everyday from 10 to 12 k
@@928Oscar11 For a half decent Z71 of the same year it's around 6-8k. I have an 05 Silverado, probably the same exact truck as this I bought for 4k with way more miles and body dmg. Fixed up it'd blue book for 9-10k easy.
I paid 16cad for my 05 gotta realize different places have different values
Have you ever thought of getting a tripod for your camera?
Have 4 of them. Used one during the Bedrug install
A carpet bed liner? That would be so hard to clean. And it would soak up liquids and smell. Like. Getting oil and whatever in it. Spilling a drink. Hell, a dead animal.
I skipped through the video, but new floor mats and a bed rug, wow...
Now you got it dirty.
Seems like the center section of that rear floor mat should have been designed to drop over rather than under the right side. On the off chance something wet rolls off the center to the right, it would get to the carpet. Wouldn't it?
Nice video! Hey was that a BTBRV sticker on his back window? If so how would one go about getting one ? Thanks for the great video's.
Amazon my friend: Big Truck Big RV 4x4 Vinyl Sticker! www.amazon.com/dp/B07H5TVMDZ/
@@BigTruckBigRV thanks the order is in.
Do a follow up on that bed rug to see how the bed looks after a year. Wondering if it'll rust it.
soooo my question would be, how does it drain?
Your bed has drain paths up near the cab, bed rugs aren't solid. They are porous so the water just drains thru it.
Great now I have to vacuum the bed of my truck too?
Cant wait to see the torture test on that bed rug
I have a picture of RV I want to get your opinion on but cant post it. The RV has a slide kitchen but it's not the normal slide it's a outside full size slide.
Great vid. Keep up the good work.
"Bed Rug"? You misspelled bed rust. Someone beat them to market years ago when they started selling rubber mats for horse stables. They protect the bed from bricks/rocks and serve the secondary purpose of helping to balance the terrible weight distribution of a pickup.
As stated by others, these rugs are meant more for people with covers and, if you have a bed cover, why did you buy a pickup? You obviously only need the open area of a pickup truck once in a great while. So, you should've just bought a 3/4 Suburban and had the increased covered cargo area/passenger capacity. Then, to borrow a friend's truck when you need a bed. Because that's what you do anyway. Everyone I know with a cover never wants to be bothered removing and reinstalling their damn fancy cover.
I'm not a huge fan of chrome. I get it that some people do but its not for me
I wish I could find a truck like that for 10k. Been looking for a while and haven't found anything with less then 150k miles and they still want way too much.
The video starts at 2:40.
10k for that?? I paid 2700 for a 2003 extended cab 4x4 with 110,000 miles on it
5 upgrades…. Today we will talk about 5 upgrades.
I had to put a push bar on my truck like something was missing on the front of it
Whats the point of a rug???
Bed rugs are so the groceries slide around less. Making a truck 75% less truck in one easy awful step..
Riddle me this Batman... This is only good if you're using a cab right? Reason I say this is because rain is going straight through that carpet... Than rust etc...
I would definitely line the truck with some sort of protection first than add the carpet...
Might seem like common sense but I didn't see that herein.
