This definitely added knowledge to my mind, and being a female XJS, I REALLY needed this ONE!!

Doing a whole front brake job on a 1979 XJS, video was extremely helpful! Your 96 is identical to the 79 with the exception of ABS.

Glad it helped. I get the feeling they didn’t change too much on these motors over the years.
Our 96 does have out board disc brakes in the rear.

@@LowTechGarage If you ever make a video for the rear brakes that would be super helpful! I’m in the middle of restoring this 79 and haven’t got to the rear brakes yet.

The straight six Jaguar motor is kind of the British equivalent of a small block Chevy. Both are fantastic, robust engines that can be modified to your heart's content.

We love the motor, now if only we could get the idle speed figured out. We have isolated it to the TPS calibration.

I've had a G reg 6 cylander for the last 20 years. I'm happy with it. V12's are far too complicated for the tiny increase in performance. My XJS has fuel injection so I've always got 35 miles to the gallon.

That’s fab! They are lovely cars! I wish the support in the US was better.

I'm a v12 man myself and have just completed overhauling the front sub-frame on my convertible. Just a couple of points though, I noticed that the calliper boots were split and not replaced this will only lead to problems in the future; you also re-used the old split pin, not a cotter pin please, both of these are bad practices. But in mitigation, you did at least remove the wheel nuts by hand and not an impact gun.

Thanks for the feedback! We would love an XJ12 in the future with the 6.0

Car is a 1996 but what year is the engine? 95/96 was an AJ16 that is coil on plug. The engine in the video has spark plug wires. So is that an older AJ6?
